It was an impressive technical feat how he was able to pull that off, as people didn't think music like this was possible on the Mega Drive up until then.

Depends on the genre, really. Yuzo Koshiro was a master of the Genesis sound chip, but the Genesis sound chip always felt somewhat limited to me. It’s really at it’s best when showcasing groovy techno dance tracks like this, or hard rock. It always lacked the diversity of the Super Nintendo sound chip to me, which showed with games like Mega Man X1, that the SNES could do hard rock just as well as the Genesis, if not better. That’s why I feel like the title of gaming’s best musical composer has to go to the more obvious choice, Nobuo Uematsu.
I was the only kid on the block that had a Super Nintendo back in 1992 (Every other kid had a Genesis) so I would go over my friend's to play this. Damn those were the good old days.
