Everything about her elimination was iconic. From her thanking Ru, walking out without saying anything, and to the cut of her and her faint mascara running. We stan!

Her elimination was ICONIC. Her words "Thank you for making my dreams come true. Now I gotta go find a new one" and she left. She said she was very emotional. I wish Pangina had done the same. Both iconic for different reasons. :P
Pangina's situation was a bit different as she had the pressure of being a judge, representing a country, and trying to drum up interest for Drag Race Thailand, which would mean hundreds of people would have jobs

As a fellow south african I can agree with starlet. Like we know the spice girls but not them individually. We know Victoria beckom because of David as he is really popular here. Mel b is kinda popular because of her being a judge on the talent shows
I don't know, I'm from SA too and I was practically raised on the Spice Girls so I think it comes down to your generation and particular household.

They even met Nelson Mandela. Starlet is obviously a bit young to know them. If she'd grown up in England it would have been different.

If she got everything she wanted out of the experience, then I think there's no reason to feel sad she's gone. she's absolutely stunning and I bet with time, she will find her niche. Her humor seems so dry and not understood by everyone. I mean, come ON. That deceased drop was pretty iconic.

Well, it’s nice to see her in this interview showing a bit more energy; compared to her few confessionals too. Even her voice seems more confident. That’s nice Starlet!
I thought I wasnt a fan of Starlet, then this interview happened and now im on board!
I totally got that she said what she needed to say at the front of the stage and then was too emotional for something at the back. You could see how devastated she was when you saw her mascara running! Didn't understand the drama as it was clear to me.
Runways are so weird judged. They happen in every single episode of any season, but sometimes seems to not matter at all, sometimes seems to save a Queen from the bottom, sometimes seems to rob queens from a win, but not clear of how importance it is. They do matter.
starlet is an incredible talent. the proportions and compositions are so well studied and executed.

I can't remember the last time I was this gutted about an elimination. I get why she lost, just really quite sad when it happened. Why does everyone only see that sweet nature now?

I'm wondering if the runway counts for less marks in original seasons these days because queens have been criticised for having 'teams'/houses who make looks for them (quoting Violet Chachki here) and massively varying budgets. Possibly different for All Stars seasons because the assumption is made queens have made their money touring off the back of their TV debut. I still think all artists should be given spending money/a budget to create looks to even out the odds a little.

Starlet has a point, the queens have to spend A LOT of money on outfits for the runway, why if they dont count so much? Maybe not worth 50% but they have to worth something given how much time effort money and blood go into them!

I agree i do think the runway should be taken more into effect i think there are a lot of times when a queen absaloutely slays the runway example(brooke lynn hytes sequins runway) and whilst the lipsync itself between Brooke and Yvie is one of if not the most iconic lipaync to date....brookes runway should've saved her the same with starlet over sminty

I'd just like to point out as a South African that we *do* know who the Spice Girls are. I think for Starlet it's generational thing and she probably doesn't know them because she's young - born after they were a pop culture phenomenon. I was obsessed with the Spice Girls in 1997/1998 when I was about 11 or 12. They were big in South Africa in their heyday. They even met Nelson Mandela. If Starlet had grown up in England it would have been different and she would have known who they were because they still part of UK pop culture but not so much in South Africa.
i f'ing fell in love with starlet on the show she was my favorite i really hope she can get back on as her fully evolved self and slay, ill definitely miss her on the runway just think of all the looks she would've brought i can't wait to see her finale look when all the girls come back at the end of the season
I completely understand Starlet regarding the Spice Girls! I mean, I know the group and I know Wannabe, and by now (mostly through Drag Race) could name a few of them, but in the end it really boils down to Wannabe, lol.

For me, since Starlet is not a performer and maybe it's her first lip synch performance, I could understand if she reacts that way by just walking away and say nothing.... Maybe she's speechless due to the emotions at that time.... Remember, technically she's a baby queen..
I thought it was pretty obvious her goodbye line wasn't serious. British drag is more on the crude side, but I guess a lot of people not familiar with British culture and drag realize that.

A lot of the white South African women I've met have this exact demeanour - not rude just very "demure" and reserved to the point it can come across as inexpressive or restrained, but I think a cultural behaviour cultivated over a lifetime. I'm guessing she emulates her mother? My friend's mother was like this, so calm and put together, it's a big contrast if you're used to people who are very expressive or emotionally not as regulated.
She was so intentionally fun on this episode 2! Really charming too
oh she CAN smile in makeup. it was just weird to me that she looked the same way happy, sad, angry and even crying. like literally the same. that's why when she said she was enjoying herself, i couldn't tell. i don't know if there was botox involved.

You really get this introverted energy from her and/or maybe she’s just not really the bombastic out there type. Her looks make up for it though sadly that’s not what the competition is about (at least in the UK). Still like her and will be rooting for her.

I loved starlet. Her and Dakota were my top 2, but when I watched drag race, I felt kinda bad for her. She didn’t seem like she wanted to be there. I can only imagine what all of her runways would have looked like, but I wish she had a chance to show the personality she said she had. She said she had fun on stage in the girl group, but she was barely moving on stage, though it could be the fact she forgot the choreography. She just deserved better, though if she had really put her all into the challenges, she could have made it to top 3.
An addition to being born on another continent, Starlet is only 23 years old. Why is anyone surprised that she can't name a Geri Halliwell song?

Girl watch that back watch The episode and tell me you don't see how timid you look. If you don't see it then you're not being honest with yourself and it has nothing to with your face tape. You are more than that you are better than that. At least I hope... If you really are just a look queen then you have reached your apex there's no where else to go. Rupaul said you had the best entrance look ever that he's ever seen. She doesn't say stuff like that lightly, But he also made it clear that we all saw it too. Confidence is a lie at least in my opinion. Confidence is nothing more than facing up to an owning up to knowing your terrified and doing it anyways. And then not being afraid to say you were terrified. So you're either not being honest with us or you're not being honest with us and yourself. And the reason the judges give you these critiques is because they genuinely want you to do better. At least that's what I would like for you

She was beautiful alright but she shows more personality in this CZcams clip in the first 5 seconds then she showed her entire screen time on RuPaul's Drag Race. That's totally okay! But, this is show business and the reality is she's competing to host a TV show. I don't think it's brutal or cruel to state that just having a deadpan stare is not the appropriate outward appearance and tone that one would need to host a TV show.
