Ashley, the civil (or revolutionary) war coats would be purchased by re-enactors. If they look shoddy, it's because the goal is to look "period correct." Re-enactment garments are quite pricey and might fetch you a nice profit. You can probably call a shop that specializes in this stuff for more info. Regimental Quartermaster in Gettsburg, PA might be a good resource for you.
Definitely, reenactors will pay high dollar for good quality outfits.

What a awesome haul. My biggest find was in a storage unit, that had thousands of $$$ worth of designer silk scarves, like Hermes and lots of St John suits, and vintage designer jewelry, like Givenchy and Karl Lagerfeld.

Canada Goose has an Authenticator tag on the inside left side hemline. It’s a Canada goose foil on a tag! Like an holographic. They’re badass coats. My favorite brands is Moose Knuckles. They’re pricey, but made extremely well. Plus the fur hood liner is so plush. Some CG fur liners are a lot sparser than they picture. Hence why I went to Moose Knuckles instead
This brand uses fur, it should be banned.
Fur is warm.

The military jackets might have been made for reenactments. Check the type of stitching: if it is machine stiched, they are likely modern. Also the buttons look too shiny, but that is just a guess from looking at the screen. All the best!

The Civil War jackets can be sold on Facebook Marketplace. There are groups for reenactors. We re-enacted for a number of years. You may be able to find someplace to consign them. This is a good time to sell with the re-enacting season just ahead.

As an actor who was in 1830-50s Abraham Lincoln "period" movies, I could see these being wool and made for film industry. The rips could be during role-playing or the look for aging. Not sure.

the "Union" jacket coats are used by living history reenactors. I cant tell from the video but if they are period correct material (wool) and stitching they can sell for big money. they could also be from a film or museum:). loved watching your reactions!!

@@HustleatHomeMom Hi, my brother in law sent me the link to your video. I worked with living history museums and intepreters for many years. The coats appear to be standard kit for Union soldiers. Rough shape is not considered a negative at all, because hello, realism is what is valued here. These coats would have been damaged in use by actual Civil War soldiers, obviously. As the respondent above states, you need to test the fabric to be sure it's actual 100% wool. Otherwise the coats are worth much less. I can help you get in touch with folks that are still active in the field if you have trouble locating someone to buy them. You can list them on ebay but you'll get much less than their actual value that way. Best to sell thru the living history/reenactor networks to get what they're worth - again, if they are actually wool. The buttons and tape around the collars also need to be authentic reproductions or this will also devalue the item. Best wishes, Susannah Eanes (you can google me and find my Facebook page).
