BIO:
Rising pop star Dorian Electra makes music that defies gender norms. In the past year, their work has gained a queer cult following and led to them being named a must-know talent by Buzzfeed and one of PAPER Magazine’s "100 Women Revolutionizing Pop." I love how the dance number at the end (3:12) is so stuck-up, a good reflexion on the way office life is limiting the worker to a small number of simple gestures, prohibitting the expression of the true self through movement (aka dancing). Perfect illustration of how complying with our corporate overlords is sucking out the self and slowly transforming us into robotic minions.
I never picked up on that ut I really like this interpretation. Dorian's music and videos are honestly so layered but packaged as satirical and not serious. But they're honestly so smart, and I find new things every time.

I showed my mom a bunch of Dorian songs/music videos and Career Boy is hands-down her favorite (she's been a hospital manager for 2 decades lol). Man to Man is her second fave and then Daddy Like is 3rd LMFAO. So happy to have queer music and videos to share with her and she was so dang excited for me to attend the Austin concert on Sunday. She was ESPECIALLY stoked to hear that I danced next to the furry crew.
Essentially it went like: "What's a furry? OH!!! I know that! What animals were they?! Were there any dragons?' Were the 'costumes' stinky?" (They actually smelled like lavender and laundry detergent!)
