I was lucky enough to see Slayer live back in 2019 at Wacken Open Air in Germany! What a show!
Something REALLY iconic this time! Already featured "Raining Blood" and other classic Slayer riffs in my Metal Top 15 Riff Lists! Many of you suggested "Raining Blood" year by year and it finally got real because of the Patreon Guitar Cover Voting! So I HAD to believe in myself to practice these crazy fast picking patterns haha!
I used a guitarless backingtrack which means that EVERY guitar you hear is played by me. Nothing got covered up by the original track. Big Plus! Minus: Some parts of the track just sound weird, I had to do a lot of mixing/mastering haha!

Mehhh ... That seems debatable... The band hooked up a solid performance, and that goes without saying... For one, rock and roll really hasn't existed for very long, when you look at the human history, and pre-history.
"The '80s had the best music" is my main gripe with your series of declarative statements. Not only was this an era where recording studios began to play into a trap of deadening the sound within the studio so that they could over-play the reverberation of each particular instrument, including the vocals... It was the supreme era of serving the record companies... The handshake.... Seals the contract.... From the contract..... There's no turning back ... This song, and band, though.... 😎😎😎

I'm not the biggest Slayer fan in the world, but this song is an all-time classic! So many incredible riffs, and you played it to absolute perfection! \m/ Everything about this was great, from the badass intro to the epic whammy bar at the end haha. Gorgeous location, incredibly cool outfit, perfect tone, amazing playing. Just awesome. And it's really cool to see the Apocalypse again. I love that guitar, and it's a perfect choice for this song. :)

Well done, JJ. I saw Slayer open for Judas Priest at LA coliseum back in the 80s. There were at least 15 seperate mosh pits boiling and at the end of Slayer's set we stacked the folding chairs in a big pile! FUN!

Well, from 1 guitarist to another, respect to you for chasing your passion, I wish I was half as good as you, but I’ve lacked the proper dedication that’s needed, and whilst I still play guitar, I’m now becoming a bass player, and playing every week, at my church and enjoying the journey, but I am starting to miss being in a band and playing rock/metal stuff, still, keep going and keep rockin! 🤘🏻
