Cool! Not often you see a seneca flying on grass strips around here. Looks like it does fine

Those sttep turns were fairly shallow bank angle from what I had to do. We did the ole "pick a spot on the ground and keep your wing pointed at it which usually needs around a 45deg angle. Enough to start thinking you are getting dizzy after 4-5 turns.

Great video, informative. Be sure you get those mixture levels full forward on your simulated “go around”. Anything less than full forward is considered degraded power. Cheers!

Why do people prefer a Baron instead of a seneca? That's something I ask myself constantly.

    Great video.
Not a criticism, just an observation: I never thought of doing the run-up on the runway until I came to CZcams. Now this is like the 5th video where I’ve seen it. I mean, I’m sure it’s not busy, but I’m just saying, it’s a weird habit. Also, everybody retracting the flaps on the landing roll is another thing I’d never seen before watching vids on CZcams. Is it like a European thing? It probably changes the landing distance by 10 feet but adds the element of distraction, or grabbing a mechanical gear handle in some planes. But that’s just my opinion.
Great to see the twin on grass. Thanks for posting.

      Thanks for the comment!
I've flown in both the US and Europe, and one thing we don't have at many airports in Europe compared to the US is designated run-up areas. Usually it's done at the holding point, but in busy places on stand. In this video the reason is that we were literally alone on the field the whole day. There is an asphalt runway that most people use, which makes the grass even less busy.
The flap thing is a bit against my philosophy too, but simply implemented by the school to try decrease tire wear due to skidding. Being a flight instructor myself I know some people's stress level on roll-out is a bit too high to be grabbing something at all.
      You fly as well?

Pulling up flaps on landing helps get the weight on to the wheels by dumping the lift (Remember your lift equation) as well as helping with FOD damage on soft strips. It's practiced on low wing aircraft all the time due to the ballooning effect due to ground effect. You notice it moreso with a Mooney M20.
