The cavalry blue looks really nice and compliments the backsplash and counter top so well. I agree with your dad you should keep the backsplash. The tan couch would compliment the gray and the cavalry blue nicely. Love the
mini drink fridge! Great job both of you and your dad👍

I agree with your dad, either paint the shelf blue ormatch it with the cabinets and paint it that off white, because it currently stands out a lot being such a different colour. For bookshelves, I'd go with an industrial kind of metal style bookshelf in a black, to tie into the more industrial style you seem to have going!

It’s coming along really well but usually brighter colors are better when finishing up a basement. Would def need some ample lighting with the color you chose.
