Need to fish deeper at 90-120 ft. because 30 ft is the habitat for cabezon and china cod. Plus it’s best to use a swim bait or live bait like king fish, sand dab, or mackerel.

Jun, Is your wife allergic to crab?? My wife became allergic to them several years ago, anything with Iodine in it. Her diet is very limiting and we have to watch it!
Today I made up several double hook Ling Cod leaders for the next time we go out on the party boat. They are for live bait and I use circle hooks.
I started using wire leader line too.

Just on thing on 10:30 where you had clip the stringer. That looks like an open end clip. If you have more fish and weight on it, it's possible the fish will break open that clip. perhaps have the end of the clip twist and back like a hook, then it won't get pulled on and slip open. I had that one time when I was fishing for black bass. The black bass was strong enough to pull open the open end stringer and I had a empty stringer in the end.

Time to drop the mackerel with enough weight to hold it on the bottom and hang on. If using bars use assist hooks which go on the top ring vs the bottom. You will convert more strikes and save bucks not losing jigs to the rocks. On the 4 Cabezon wow!!! #4 looked legal to and you could give away . those cabezon were worth more than a plain ole ling Cabezon fillets are like $38lb a lb at the few places that have them legally.
