Thank you so much for the video, you are a genius! It worked 100% and it was simple. The only thing I did different. I wrapped a thin piece of wire around the fuel hose spacer and tightened it with pliers. This way the slice in the spacer can't open up and and pop off. You saved me a trip to a repair shop and 100's of dollars. Well done my friend.

I did the same thing plus additional step. Super glued the slice in the spacer first.

I used two thick 1/4 inch rubber washers that came in one of those wal-mart assortment packages you have to buy when you only need one washer. slit each one with a box cutter and pushed them on. Works perfect for the first time in years. Thanks so much!

Just picked up an 04 Escalade. I was wondering how to open the liftgate glass. And now I know what needs to be done if I need to service the lock mechanism.

Ok so what if nothing works?the glass or the lift gate???Would this method still apply?or is that the actuator Itself?

What if it doesn't unlock and that black thing that slides back and forth to unlock gets stuck how can I fix it

This worked great for me, but as a safeguard so the fuel line wouldn't crush down and come off, I put a small zip tie around the fuel line

Putting the spacer is not going to let the mechanism slide back in fort when your u push the button.or do you find it to work?

Legit a ghetto ass fix. You took it all the way apart to do that? Why didn't you just remove the snap ring and install a new spring. Like go to a hardware store and find a similar spring. Damn.
