Max and i dont even like him but gotta respect
Yes yes yes
Definitely yes
George & Lando we’re my top 2.
Max is (of course) a great driver.
Ofcourse hey Nico, please bring Rimac in your every video, we love you anyway.
Would like to see some race vlogs again next year??
Yes
Absolutely
Yeah
of course
Yesss
I admire that you have so much respect for hamilton after all you guys have been through, great to see that
It is to make his 2016 championship feel more special
@@GTAracingUK
Yeah, Rosberg fought very hard for that, it was only on the final stages of the championship he finally eclipsed Hamilton
Absolutely agree. To beat Lewis is really special. Great respect.
He did win in equal machinery to be fair.
@@GTAracingUK wtf do you mean more, it'll be always special, even tho lewis lost cause of that dnf, Nico was there right behind, they were trading wins back n forth.
I really want nicos podcast reviewing every race and analysing things.. desperate :)
pretty shitty thing to be desperate about
And racing in the simulator the same circuit talking about it every GP week 🤤
Yes please!!
The respect you show towards Lewis is really admirable considering all the things that happened
Quite unfortunate Lewis cannot not say nice things about Nico but still be regarded as the guy with the "class act" in F1.
@@sekhangati When did Lewis spoke bad about Nico in the last few years?
@@sekhangati never heard lewis speak negatively about nico since 2016 though
@@The_Curious_Cat Have I said Lewis has spoken bad things about Nico?
@@AAMIRKHAN-yt1el I have not said Lewis has spoken negatively about Nico. He has not spoken nice things about Nico either. Like the way we hear Nico speak nice things about him.
I think Lando, definitely deserves to be on the list. He was exceptional in a very unexceptionable car. Everyone needs to remember too that he was the only one outside of Redbull, Ferrari, and Mercedes to get a podium!
Lando = baby
6-7 place at Best Lando.
@@Yayo509 with a car that was at most parts of the season 5th best
@@KailiLiveno one has demolished their teammate quite like Lando has with Ricciardo in the last 2 years.
I would even go as far as to say he has more talent than George. George just has the better car.
Please get Sebastian on your podcast. Surely now that he's retired he'll find the time
He was teasing him throughout his career, I don't think he likes Seb. Also Nico doesn't miss the opportunity to say how Seb got destroyed by Leclerc and Daniel...if Seb got destroyed by Leclerc than Lewis got destroyed by Russel this year.
@@henshin587 Leclerc And Vettel 2019 , Russel And Hamilton 2022 Is Almost The Same.
@@kadumingvlog9541 Vettel outperformed Leclerc in 2019 actually. He only lost in points due to mechanical failures. Leclerc had bulletproof reliability.
@@Mark-zk3gu excuses
@@henshin587 😂😂😂😂 crybaby sebboy 😮

My picks
1 Max - class of his own
2 Charles - able to consistently out race his teammate and bring fight to Max when possible
3 Lando- outclassed teammate and consistency with a slow car.
4 Fernando - stiill up there with the young guys. Plagued with mechanical issues. Would have shown his form with higher point hauls if he had a reliable car.
5 George- consistent and out did Hamilton in first year at Mercedes
Hamilton had very bad luck but yes a very impressive season from George.
This guy analyzes F1 drivers really well, he should be an F1 driver someday
I think he could even be a world champion 🤔
With those insightful analysis Sky Sports could feature him on race days every now and then 🤔
he might beat lewis in equal machinery in future
@@spicychicken6015 maybe Schumacher too in an Equal machinery, hope this guy has a good future 😔👍
Don't ya'll know that Nico Rosberg was one of the finest drivers of the past decade, who was even the 2016 formula 1 world champion!!!
Alonso season was soooo good yet so difficult and frustrating that he managed to get named in sixth position in a TOP 5 video. It's like an allegory of this 2022 for Fernando.
@@WatchJRGo.no
1. Verstappen
2. Leclerc
3. Russell
4. Alonso
5. Hamilton
Special Mention: Norris
Bro be objective why you put Alonso there he’s a great driver but his season was very bad🤦♂️
1. of course.
2 & 3. no, Leclerc's mind does not ready for the pressure unlike Russell who always be ready for (including toxic LH Fans pressure). so i personally would swap them.
4. indeed.
5. i prefer Norris/Magnussen because they are has speed and pace, even with a bad car they have.
@@txssa2471 the car just let him down, same as Hamilton, but even worse.
@@al_zaizal Hamilton had some great results so he deserves to be here but Alonso had very bad luck and only few gods results, his season was very poor so I don’t know what he’s doing here
@@txssa2471 Hamilton still have a good result because he still have a pace, unlike Alonso who still has speed and pace, a lot of driver will lost their confidence and speed when their car doesn't give much, and Alonso not that type of that driver.
Lets Agree to disagree respectfully.
Since you asked, my rating is ( I am no one I know, still a huge F1 fan)
1. Max : epic race craft and consistency.
2. Leclerc : A few mistakes still pole laps were on 🔥
3. Alonso : Even with an unreliable car , what a drive!
4. Russel : Beat Hamilton in his first year @ merc, still so many overtake blunders (and blaming others 🤣)
5. Norris : Get this man a car he will fight along with Max and Charles.
Nico parking like Italians do. I've seen an Italian park his mini and take up 3 spaces at once.. incredible really.
He took up the whole pier and then when the tractor drove by with the swinging large objects I was expecting the worst
I would consider Prost up there in top 5 all time drivers since him and Senna were so close during their prime
Just... this was about the 2022 season, not all-time greats.
@@Arsenic71 when Nico spoke about Fangio, it wasn’t about his performance during 2022 season 😂
Prost, Senna, Schumacher, Alonso, Max
@@quigglyz Not necessarily in that order but I could live with that selection.
I would say Ayrton Senna, Jim Clark, Juan Manuel Fangio, Michael Schumacher and Lewis Hamilton.
Love this, Nicos top 5, 6 best drivers of 2022 👍

@@James-gr5mx yes, the regulations improved immensely from the previous years. Absolutely wonderful performance by the fia!!
You're clearly new to F1, but after a reg change there is a convergence of designs and also of performance. That takes more than one year and diminishes in subsequent years.
You're welcome 👍
Always love your videos Nico sir. Please make them more often. 5/5!
Pretty much the same list I had in mind. George deserves to be in second, since he had a great year. Lewis was quite unlucky with Safety Cars mostly, he had at least 3 races where he would end up in front of George but end up 4 or 5 positions behind because the SC came out on the right time for George. But it's part of racing and George deserves all the praise since it wasn't a fluke the quantity of top 5 races he had during the year.
Robert wouldn't put Lewis on the list cuz of 2012-2016
Same
George ruined too many races for other drivers. He should have been penalised properly.
I have really enjoyed seeing Nico Rosberg top five of the f1 drivers for the 2022 season he has brilliant views on different f1 teams and bosses.
4:00 very good point, thank you Nico 👏
Nice to make such a statement without mentioning just how much more lucky Russell was compared to Leclerc.
Agree with the Alonso special mention, he deserves to be up there too.
Kinda funny at the end with how you unconsciously did the "German 3" hand, reminded me of the Inglourious Basterds film.

I agree totally with your top 5 . You’re a great ambassador for the sport of F1 🏁👏🏼
my personal rankings
1. Verstappen - no explanation necessary, even without Ferrari's strategy blunders I still think Max would have won the title comfortably
2. Leclerc - amazing 1 lap pace and when he was quick, he was quick; he made a couple mistakes but that doesn't take much away from his season
3. Norris - his season didn't seem as spectacular as last year, but he was so close to the top teams in the mclaren which was much worse than last year
4. Alonso - was so strong and extracting every drop of pace out of that alpine, just so unlucky with DNFs, and all of that at 41 years old
5. Hamilton - after his start with the test setups and whatnot, he still showed that he can compete at the top with ease, i rank him below Alonso though because Hamilton caused his 2 DNFs, whereas Alonso's 6 weren't his fault, but its a very fine line between them

Great to see you’ve found more passions after f1. We miss you in f1 though.
carlos had a great showing this season, first pole, first win, from the middle to end of the season, started outplacing leclerc too

This top 5 is pretty much in line with the top 5 (10) rankings from the F1 team principals and F1 drivers themselves. The people who have the best and most information being able to make a justified ranked selection. It’s obvious that Perez and Sainz are left out these rankings although they were both in the F1 2022 season drivers points ranking top 5. That’s a strong and very clear statement on it’s own I would say.
top 5 drivers without any order for me ,
Schumacher, Hamilton, Prost, Senna, Alonso.
Perfect list👌🏁 100% agree
I agree 100% with your top 6. I might put Alonso number 5 but Lando has been very consistent with a car that was not at the level. I think Renault was a better car. I love your Rimac. You made the right choice in getting it. I understand that there is a learning gap with the electronics I might say the computer. Happy New Year!
Love this video. Rimac in Monaco talking about F1. Epic.

Drive safe Nico. Happy 2023! 👍
Good for George, his season was unreal.
It wasnt even all that, none of the merc drivers had a great season lol.
Jim Clarke won 7 out of 10 in 1963, and 6 out of 9 in '65. By the way he still holds the record of most laps in the lead of a season, almost 72%... this against competition like Stewart, Moss, Brabham, Hill, Hulme, Amon, McClaren etc. Amazing driver...for me the best of all time.
Great picks!
Your choice of cars really shows you miss F1. You should come back to the grid Nico.
I remember meeting you a long time ago in Bahrain. I still have that picture with your autograph when you drove at Williams.
Keep doing what you do! Awesome stuff!!
Don't forget Alain Prost when you talk about greatest F1 drivers of all time!
Another fastest car bully
Prost demanded to have the fastest car, and didn't push to the limits. He wanted easy wins. Drivers like Senna and Mansell enjoyed the challenge.
Greatest F1 driver of all time?? He stole Mansells car Greatest thief of all time
Of course. He really prioritized results over the course of a season rather than getting fixated on individual races. A true thinking man's driver.

Carlos was very unlucky but he did amazing and had great overtakes
Uuugh Nico, its been 4 months brother, we need those vlogs!
I like that you mentioned Fernando, he realy showed that he still can perform. Would love to see him in a top car.
So nice to hear Nico talk so highly of Lewis. 6 years ago I was so sad that their relationship was in shambles

Good choice for each one. Right on!
I agree with your top 5 for all the same reasons. But I have to say the look on your face when that crane was near you car was a picture. It even looked like the crane was swinging it towards your car too. :)

Fernando Alonso
Max Verstappen
George Russell
Carlos Sainez
Charles
Nicooo, youre the best!!
Bro I start to like you man🔥🔥🤝🏾
My favourite commentator alongside Jenson Button.
Agree 👍
First of all: the back of the car is very cool!
And what about Sergio Perez? Do his victories not show that he is worthy of the top 5?
Checo had some stunning drives, but he also had a lot of really unimpressive drives where he was just not even remotely on par with the Ferrari or Merc leaders even though Max was miles out front Although Checo's commitment to the team game is always noted.
It's a top 5. Checo was probably 6th! :D
No harsh feelings but checo's tyre management was improper this year compared to other drivers......Hard to say last year was a better year to Checo than this year, because he was new to RB and there were huge expectations on him after the failure of previous RB junior drivers and he lived it up.......Victories doesn't necessarily mean he is a top driver (Although in a career yes), but the consistency level is the key.......Checo's consistency vanished in the mid season.......So a 6th place probably with fernando....but fernando fought with the car.....so 6th definitely goes to him and 7th to checo.....
@@shrikanthkm385 I agree with many things, and of course no offense) Checo almost became the second in the championship and at the same time did not get into the top 5. But in general, I understand why this is so.
Nope. Checo finished 3rd with the best car.
Happy new year!
I just love what a gentleman you are .wish you were still racing f1

Nice list that I would agree with. I hope McLaren gets a good car for Lando and I'm curious how the Lando/Piastri dynamic will go but Lando definitely has potential for a title if he goes to a better team or McLaren gets it together.
So far it’s not looking good for Lando and McLaren.
I just can’t stop thinking while you are doing your top 5 that the keys are in your locked car in the back XD.

I was so nervous at the fact that you didn’t immediately move the Nevera to safety when old mate in the excavator started driving towards it!

MAGIC ALONSO was fantastic this year
Surprised that Prost didn't make it into the top 5 of all time, but top 5's over such a long time frame are such a difficult thing.
Very nice! Wolff still disturbing us in São Paulo too! We are trying to work everyday...
Top five calls are not hard to make this year. How about 6 to 10? Not so easy. Tell us what yours are, Nico!! 😃😃
Its very accurate the positions that you put each driver
Isn't he
Not really if Alonso isn't top 5
Fernando should be top 3 just behind leclerc and verstappen. He had so many problems with the car and even being 40 years old he is still showing that he is one of the best drivers in the history of this sport
Fernando was better than Leclerc during races. Leclerc qualifying was magical.

my no1 would be Alonso. even if he’s in the early 40s he still score points consistently. at one point he even started 2nd in Canada under wet conditions. Sad for the car giving up 6 times
Alonso had some really good performances but I think putting him #1 is a bit much.
No doubt Russell had an amazing season and I definitely would've put him on second place if only he didn't have such a reckless season. He was very careless and never took the responsibilities of his actions.
On what points/incidents do you judge Russell so harshly?

@@nickburak7518 Singapore, Austria, COTA, France, Silverstone
@@andreaferrari26 i wouldnt blame him for austria, even horner/marko said checo was dumb af
@@manavkumar6590 Manav. After careful review I'm not sure that you are being fair. Your bias shows. I'll only use one example; Silverstone. It was a racing incident at worst. Find the references that show that he was at fault, what his penalty was for it, and I'll apologize. Not a single pundit blamed anyone for it, which ended with Jo in the fence. So we should take this under consideration. Gasley backed off seeing George and Jo cutting out his space, just as it was in Singapore 2017 when Max backed off when Vettel came right into him (with Kimi along the wall on Max's left). Imo, Vettel really messed up and since then his mojo was gone. He actually pissed me off, but I was alone in this feeling. So I let it go (but never forgot it). He became the spin Meister after that. Nevertheless, that incident did not get Vettel a penalty, I believe.
You don't have high regard for Russell and that's fine. I'll take your bet any day on his future success.
hi Nico, great video. Awesome car but would be even better if the license plate wasn't slightly tilted?
World champion! Onwards and upwards brotha. God bless you and yours
Absolutely George Russell! Imo, he's been incredible since F3 and I think that he can take the top spot as early as next year (at long as the Merc is ready)! Perfect summary, Nico.
I would've put Alonso ahead of Russell and Hamilton personally. He was just unlucky like you said Lewis was (3:46, 4:40).
6:29 At least you acknowledged Fernando
7:04 I'll take that as Fernando number 1
The Nico awards from Monaco. Flexing
I loved this car like a background
2:41 What about now? Alonso?
Lando in my opinion has been the second best driver behind Verstappen. Nobody has demolished their teammate as hard as Norris did even though Verstappen was close with Checo but you can’t ignore the 20-2 in qualifying against Riccardo. Yes we know this isn’t the Ricciardo we all love and know but surely he still has some of his ability left so Norris beating him that much in quali and even in the races is just staggering. He’s also so consistent, consistently finishing ‘best of the rest’ against an arguably faster Alpine with Fernando despite his reliability issues. I think if Norris had a comparable teammate I reckon Mclaren would have overtook Alpine in the standings due to all their reliability issues. I think the main reason though, why I’d put Lando behind Max as the 2nd best driver is down to the lack of mistakes. The only ones that come to mind are Imola quali where he went off in the wet and didn’t really crash and also when he tagged Charles in Brazil. I can understand why people put George ahead of Lando but if you look George had two horrible mistakes in Singapore and Cota where he stupidly crashed into Sainz and Schumacher and blamed it on them which in my opinion still shows his inexperience which is fine as every driver goes through it. Apart from Lando, I think Fernando is also a good shout by overall top 5 is:
1. Max
2. Lando
3. Charles
4. George
5. Lewis/ Fernando
I agree with you, Lando is a great driver with a great future and surely a next world champion, he needs a victory for his confidence, but above all, a good car to compete for.
Ascari had 75% of race wins in a season (6/8) in 1952, obviously F1 changed too much to make comparison but I suggest you to look for the story of that championship. Unbelievable.
My top 5 of 2022 F1 drivers:
1)Verstappen, who dealed with a huge gap of points against Leclerc at the beginning of the season;
2)Leclerc, incredible speed in quali and great ability to do special moves like overtakes at the last moment;
3)Russel, consistent;
4)Hamilton, whose season was made difficult by the fact that he used tried to find a good setup of the car thus the car was always different and he couldn't get use to it;
5)Alonso who is always ready to gain some positions when the car is good enough.
Happy new year! (and season)
Had Charles on second….but George actually make’s sence. Great on point and objective blog
