I was under the impression that hildir sold clothing called builders clothes or something that reduced the chance of raids on your base by like 75%
I don't understand, why I'm in love with this game since "release". Im playing many games, but I'm always looking back to Valheim
This game has so much potential. It just needs fleshing out.
I have 5500 hours played. I can't stop playing it. Currently the loop I'm stuck in is playing self imposed hardcore. If my character dies, I delete the character, the world he was in and start brand new.
I like variety, but what would be the practical use of the outfits Hildir sells ? I mean the game doesn't allow you to glamour your armor to protect you but look like something else, the outfits themselves don't offer protection, so unless you have some kind of a Roleplayer server where there's some harvest festival or something....what's the point ?
All chest pieces decrease stamina cost of using items by 20%, and hats decrease by further 15%, so you can have 35% decrease in stamina cost. Handy when building or doing chores like farming, woodcutting, mining.
@@Wengier15 That's what I thought, but since I use good sta food, i generally don't need tons of sta for farming or such. But just had to confirm if there was some kind of use I didn't know of. Thx

Gierrhafa (probably pronounced "GEAR-ha-fa") isn't exactly an Old Norse word but Gierr = spear and hafa is the verb "to have" so probably means "one who has a spear".... something like that. Or the devs are just making things up.
That was my guess as well. (On how it's pronounced. No idea the meaning.)

Go to Smittysurvival and start making some of those absolute masterpieces of engineering! I finally, after 700 hours know how to make a real fireplace, and I mean a REAL fireplace with no cheese like a roof flap at the top. There is plenty to do!
@@NickWebb-lc6ry what is smittysurvival? I'm really feeling the itch to play on my world that i made when mistlands came out again, but i've already beaten the whole game on that save and don't really wanna do a whole new playthrough until at least ashlands comes out. I love building in most games, but usually i like to space my building between progression, do a little building, then progress, fight a boss, repeat. At least i haven't done any of this hildir stuff yet but i doubt its gonna be that long in the grand scheme of how much i've played this character lol.
@@timklafke4712 Smittysurvival is a youtube channel, he has great builds. I can get lost for weeks building. All I have in my newest world left to do is kill the Queen, and then 5 or so months for Ashlands. I wish they could pump out content faster, but im not complaining because the quality is high!
Check out Conan Exiles, its alot like Valheim but its got all the content you wish Valheim had. I just found it & its crazy

No the walls are unbreakable, sort of like the platform where the elder spawns

I really wish, those vendors would sell something more useful instead of cosmetics. Some great QoL items, for example portal upgrade, which would allow you to port certain type of ore, or maybe some kind of boat engine, etc...
^ This! I really wish they were more stuff like this. Things for Qol or things that would make your Character a lot stronger. I wish we could grind other things than ores to make our characters stronger.
When you use the dragon boss ability it always puts the wind at your back when sailing. The funny thing is the boss is called Moder, sounds exactly like motor. Those devs are kinda sly with their puns.

On the other hand, the Moder in “The Ritual” is an evil entity worshiped by a cult of locals living in a remote forest in Sweden. The cult believes sacrificing human victims to Moder will ensure the forest’s prosperity. This depiction of Moder is purely a creation of the filmmakers and should not be confused with the Norse deity.
Given that information I'm guessing it most likely the latter since all the beings in valheim were sealed there by Odin for a reason. But who knows. you'd have to ask the developer and hope for an "official" answer lol

this game needs multiplayer improvements. social side of valheim is extremely underrated. my gang and I had lots of fun while we were trying to raid swamp dungeons nearly 2 years ago. no mans sky suffers the same thing but their system is slightly better.
What do you need for mp improvement?
@@Capper_Bra from some sort of online mode improvement like official dedicated servers with 100+ people to ultima online level full blown old school mmo structure. pick whichever you fancy the most. I prefer ultima or ark survival kind of fun. and I think this game's base can offer a lot for that.
Valheim is probably in my top 5 games of all time already.. but I don't understand the thought behind this update (aside from the world modifiers and QoL updates) .. was it just meant to be filler while they work on Ashlands? As others have said, seems like a bit of a waste of time. Add new trees for new wood types, new types of rocks/minerals etc. (like in Minecraft) which would give building variety.. Add some additional mobs in each biome etc.. I feel like some relatively easy additions could add a good amount of variety to the game.

It looks like I'll have to wait for my next playthrough to see most of this. I doubt there are enough unexplored areas on my map for Hildir to spawn in. Love the new structures and mini-bosses though.
So here's a question; Do the chests float? you have to ship them and there are only a couple chances to get the chest so if they don't.....
Is this in the game preview version or only in the test servers right now? And if it is in the game preview version when did it come out? Im just curious if she will be in our server or if we need to make a new one.. I've been doing some MASSIVE building and dont want to do more if I'm going to have to wipe and start new.

You do realize you can just move your character to a new map and take all your stuff that is important with you right. Also its and early access game. You should really get use to starting new often. But to answer your question I assume so as you can force spawn her brother but I doubt she will work right because none of her quests will be on the map. So at that point your best bet is just to spawn in whatever you want from her.

wait so if there is only 3 of each mini boss locations do they respawn?
what if your on a server with like 10 people? do only 3 people get a chest?
She is not person specific. So tbh if someone else goes and get the chest and takes it to her they are doing you a favor as you cant teleport it by default. Once they do that you will also be able to access all her new items.

once one person does a particular mini-boss, it unlocks those items she's selling for everyone on the server
The mini-bosses respawn, and you get their chest drops again, which you can keep this time. Also their personal trophies.
There were two mini bosses in the first location I've been to.
Question - if one person on the map/server kills and turns in Hilder’s quest to unlock clothing pieces, etc. will that unlock for everyone on the server?
She herself updates and is not instanced so yes I would assume so. Just like her brother updates for the whole map as each boss is beaten.

are those clothes armored? probably not, why would I wear it? so I can rush to home if raid starts and die while trying to access my armor? we need real safe zones then, with same force shields that traders have
They need to make it so you're always wearing your armor, but can 'hide' it. Otherwise, its pointless. A raid can happen at any time? Yeah, not taking my armor off.
There will be world modifiers to disable raids and make enemies passive.

So what I got from all that is everything you can get is cosmetic. They added 3 mini bosses to fight for a few recolored cosmetic items... They could have done so much with this game since it came out and talked of asperations of minecraft and have really done so little. They need to start with what the modding community has done and whats popular there and add it to the game for starters.

areas already discovered will not change. Undiscovered areas will. So if you have uncovered the map then yes but if enough is undiscovered you are good to keep the same game.

I find that annoying you need to transport the iron pit bia boat 😢 (this very helpful that circle search) this update got a spoiler hildir got a brass chest meaning they might add brass ore and brass weapon cant wait

@@CaPshenanagains125 I believe if you have discovered all possible spots already, then the vendor won't appear. She appeared on an existing map, but only in an undiscovered area. THat is how most of the previous updates worked (Ice caves for example).
if the area she is supposed to spawn in has been discovered she wont appear. just make a new save and go find her. odds are you wont be going to her that often just like the other merchant. having multiple maps is useful in many ways.

Hopefully these wont require a new playthrough when it goes live. Many community servers are going to want to restart!
Its is 100% going to require a new map. The only way she and her quests will spawn is if the locations in which they can spawn in have not been explored. People need to realize this game is not done and just get use to starting new maps.

People in this comments section are really angry for some reason. Just remember this game is still in early access, and the very small team of devs are working hard to deliver the next FREE update. So quit pooping your diaper.
as someone who loves this game the disappointment is understandable. I don't see myself quitting the game anytime soon but the devs did promise a lot in the beginning and the update pace has been terrible. its been in EA for 3 years with very little additions and lots of time between updates. at this point it could very well be in EA for its entire existence.
I can't wait to hear them complain when they get one of the three new raids.
They made millions more then expected at release and should have hired a team, but its becoming apparent they havent really done much of anything with the surpluss they got as far as investing it back into the game. Its over 2 years now..

I thought it would be nice to be able to mount and ride seeker soldiers but "breeding" them would not make sense since the queen is like the insect mother. I hope they make something the queen drops or something in the ashlands that lets you make a blood magic staff to temporarily tame enemies and let you ride seeker soldiers that way.
