On my server I've set up an "AFK" zone that has just a portal and a chair out up a tree in the Meadows (the chair isn't even necessary, but might as well make your character comfy whilst you're off galivanting away from your desk). This ensures it's below the 3 base item requirement, wondering mobs (including those that spawn at night) can't reach you while you're in in the tree, and that pesky wolf event can't occur as it's not in the correct biome. Highly recommended when playing on a multiplayer server where you can't actually pause the game.
I’m 6 months late but how exactly can you achieve this? Do you build up and sit on top of the tree and then destroy the way up? A buddy and I had the problem where I had to do something but he was already gone so I had to wait impatiently for him to get back just so in case a raid spawned, one of us could defend ourselves
@@Dale_Nightking Now when I wrote that this was before I had defeated the Queen and caused Seekers to spawn at night regardless of the biome you are in so there are a few extra steps to be safe from even those flying fuckers but still entirely doable. I typically try to find an isolated Oak tree then build up (using the tree as the foundation itself to build up from, provided you don't knock this down then you're golden). I do this in the meadows as it's the safest mob wise and you'll never proc the raid that can happen wherever you are being the annoying wolf one. Try to stick to one workbench throughout too, as one troll raid could fuck everything up for you. Once you've gotten to the top and make a platform, pop a portal down and destroy anything leading up to the top so the mobs can't pathfind their way up to you when they inevitably aggro onto you from beneath. This part avoids annoying greydwarves during the day and much more harmful goblins at night. Now seekers are the only real threat at this point (if you've defeated The Queen) so essentially you're gonna want to wall this off and roof it. Provided they can't see you - they won't fly up to you. And they won't destroy your creations unless they KNOW you're behind it but if you're just coming to this area to go AFK they shouldn't be a threat. At this point you should still be safe from raids as you'll have only two base items, being your workbench and portal. Once you've done with your platform, wall, roof, and any decoration that doesn't include base items you can even destroy the workbench and add a chair if you so wanted (though if you want to remain practical then keep the workbench and don't add a chair).
Provided you stay below three "base items" then you won't get raided.
Another way to be safe from raids is to be surrounded by water. Though it is much more resource and time consuming, I've made a house in the middle of a large lake and as mobs cannot spawn in water any raid that occurs just ends after it's set time limit without anything spawning throughout it's duration.
One safe place where no mobs are spawning are sunken crypts (on swamps) that you have already cleared
I have placed my safe spot in a sealed tower dungeon, built a teleporter, a hearth and workbench/stonecuter on the small balconies around the topp.
High up, in a indestructible tower in the plains, safest place around
I have this except it's a sealed cave built underneath a boulder with a portal. Once, I trapped a friend inside it by getting him to trade his pickaxe for a single durability one, then pushed him into the portal before promptly changing the portal tag.
That is why your videos are the best. Even though I am 400 hours in, I always learn a ton of new stuff watching your content. Thanks for that!
True, so much I didn’t know about raids I know now
I've played games my entire life, sunk so many hours into every game. I bought rust in April of last year, found modded servers, blank my eyes and whoosh, 2700 hours went by. I still don't know jack shit. The hubris it takes to think you can't learn more or tweak better lol. I got 600 hours in valheim and just saw a video where I learned shit I should've figured out day 1 lmao! Wild
Bro that’s what I’m saying
Little tip if a timed raid catches you off-guard and you dont have the resources to take them on.
Just kite the enemies around for the duration and only start attacking them once the raid is over.
That way enemies won't respawn and you won't have to waste materials.
@David Barr yeah. She covers that only a minute and thirty seconds in the video
What an incredible guide. No filler, no freaky sounds / intros. Straight to a point. I don't need to be asked to like and subscribe when I see something like that. It's a reflex in such case. Thank you for your fantastic work!
She can't even speak properly and naming mobs by their wrong name, unless you are as brain dead as the OP then this comment must be satire
A buddy of mine calls the Eikthyr raid "Your Uber Eats has arrived"
This is the most well-edited, polished Valheim guide I've watched. I really appreciate the effort, both in editing and very organized writing.
As counter-intuitive as it sounds, backing yourself into a dead-end of some sort during the Wolf Raid is actually one of the safest ways of dealing with it, since they're forced to run at you from only one direction. As such, you can hit them as they run up, often stunning them in the process. Wolves may not be weak to any damage types, but they have a tiny-ass little stagger bar, and any solid hit that doesn't kill them outright will leave them stunned and helpless for 4-5 seconds. Putting your back to the wall and swinging away is the way to go here if you can find a piece of terrain that allows for it.
I got raided by drakes just as you started talking about them. I now hold you personally responsible for their summoning
I got in a losing fight with a 2 star berserker when the "You're being hunted" popped up. The wolves all showed up and fought with the berserker for the whole event while i hid on the rock. At the end i finished off the berserker with a couple arrows, gathered the like 40+ wolf pelts and carried on... most memorable thing to happen in the game so far.
I've watched a lot of vids on gaming tips/tricks/explanations for a lot of games and I gotta say - you are definitely one of the best at it. You combine informative, amusing, and entertaining masterfully, all while including the mundane details most would not bother seeking out.
Already looking forward to your next one 😎
The way you broke this down was wonderful! Thank you for not being over the top like most modern youtubers because it makes it enjoyable to learn
More than 2400 hours in this game and still found this video useful. Very detailed and well structured! Got a sub from me.
Awesome, I'm 2,284 hrs in my friend
@@rando653 But I'm still a friend :)
1:16 Dakey have been through some shit and hes here to slay monsters don't ever cross his road in pvp guys!
Holy the chills that this shot gave me, you love to see those.
That bonk bonk 6:13 got more of a giggle out of me than it should’ve. Poor neck got absolutely flipped😂
Just started this game about 4 months ago, and I am about 1300 hours in. This is my first type of game like this and I am utterly addicted. Good video, good voice, fun edits and a solid informational source. Kudos to you, pal!
12:33 LMFAO Shawn of the Dead reference gets an INSTANT like from me! Well done incorporating that into the video.
6:15 haha I love that bonk sound 🤭
Thanks for the info, I did not know how most of these raids actually work but now everything makes way more sense 🧐👍
I’ve played Valheim since the first week the game came out and have played it since with just maybe a few months breaks in between. What I can say is that this is a hilarious but damn solidly great, detailed and well produced video. Well made! The information is on-point.
hilarious? relax simp
I really love the way you put your videos together, can't wait to see the Mistlands update. Keep up the good work. It would be good to see a playthrough series if you were down for that
I just started Velheim a few days ago. I never got Elkthyr's raid, but comparing it to the second one with the Greys, that's quite the spike in difficulty for a new player.
From 2 boars and necks, to 12 Greys, 2 of them being variants I never seen before. I learned Shaman not only poisons, but heals it's allies, and the brute that one shot me when I walked out my door lmao.
But I didn't know about a timer, and enemies respawn when killed within timer. Nor did I think they would despawn. So I just assumed I had to fight them off until none were left standing. What good that did me. I tried running away, but I didn't think they would follow me to the ends of the earth.
I learned some new stuff thanks to this video. Stay within radius to have timer tick down, and don't really try fighting them until raid ends, and some despawn. Got it haha
This clearly took a LOT of time and effort to make. Very informative and well done! We appreciate you.
This was laid out in such an organized and easy to follow manner! Super helpful, bravo 👏🏻 Thank you!!
One of you videos was recently recommended and now having watched a few I wanted to comment that your videos are very well made. You clearly have great skill in editing.
That one shot of the goblin running into a spike wall and being blasted on his back was hilarious
Wow, the quality on this video is exceptional, I never thought I could learn so much in a such a short amount of time, kudos!
I watch almost all Videos of Valheim out there because its such a comfort game and I just love hearing about it. Just stumbled across yours and have to say they are by far the best. Well structured, informative and good quality. Nothing to complain about. Keep it up!
Great review, but something to note about the AI of enemies that's really important in regards to raids is their priority of targets. The player is prioritized first and foremost. If enemies cannot get to the player, then they will prioritize any and all base structure pieces near them until they can reach a player again, and they will destroy any building pieces in their way of whatever it is they're targeting. For this reason, it's important not to die during a raid as even while you're waiting for the death window to play out, the raiders will automatically target your building pieces if there's no other players nearby for them to attack.
man, all your tutorials are extremely well done with heaps of tasteful, (and I imagine extremely finicky) details. Luv it !
The best detailed explanation and clips that I have seen on Valheim! Great work!
Just recently got back into Valheim due to the recent mistlands update a little bit ago. And considering I hadn't really played all the much to begin with this has given me some much needed insight into what to expect moving forward! Awesome video 💪
I hope your channel blows up. You give so much information. Its very obvious you care.
I love the way you explain the game. It's like watching a polished company induction video but actually entertaining and about something you enjoy.
Liked and subbed!
Ah, that Trollina scene...that was epic. 🤣
And a very good explanation of raids. I have some things to add though, from my own experience.
Most of the creatures involved in the raids do not spawn over water. This makes tiny islands ideal for base locations, if you don't want to bother with the events. The events still will occur, but no spawns. Bats however, DO spawn over water, or probably over tiny shallow water spots which LOOK like water, but technically are land - I don't know. I have a very cozy island base and at this time I have to deal with only bats there.
And, of course, you can block event (and all other) spawning with crafting benches, fires etc. This works even against bats, but you have to block spawning in the whole 42 meter radius circle. Just a tiny-tiny unblocked spot, and surpriiise!
I'm not sure if they patched something after this happened, but my husband and I were sailing and we got hunted.. in the ocean.. on a boat.. we outsailed them, thankfully. :)
@@spookyfish24 This also happened to me, almost two or three quarter ago. I turned around to see the doggies taking a bath. :D
What a great video! So clear, structured and with a dose of humour too - one of the best gameplay explanation videos I’ve seen. Thank you 😊
You had my sub when you made a Shaun of the dead reference ! Awesome video great deal of insight into raids I didn’t know thank you !
Means a lot! Ty!
@@Embr haha I binged all your vids today while at work, great content learned a lot about the game I didn’t know. Made me want to come home and play right when I got off work 😆
Your videos are the new go-to Valheim content for me. I'm getting back into the game after some time away, and these are a wealth of information. Thank you for making these!
What a great vid!
Such a joy to watch - well written, well filmed, has humor too.
Not to mention the amount of useful info.
3:07 Bro, no wonder we had “The forest is moving” happen so many times, there were 4 of us just sitting at base just goofing off.
(“The forest is moving” became an inside joke for us because of this).
I’ve just started playing the game about a month ago and it’s always a pleasure to learn new tips and tricks from your videos, great editing too!
6:47 I laughed out loud at that face you made, that was perfect. Exactly how I felt running from that mob for the first time 😂😂
wow this is like the best in-depth valheim channel, nice work
Perfect video, informative, to the point, very well researched, with timestamps for the details, and also funny :)
Much better than many other valheim creators. Subscribed!
Please do more Valheim guides. You are by far the best valheim youtuber out there!
The editing is so good on this. And lots of cinematic shots!
Very well done. The humor mixed with your tone is tops.
Very well composed & edited video, plus a bounty of useful information. Keep up the good work.
Wow, this was so high-quality. Really happy this popped up in my search! Also, love the humor. :D
Nice. An informational video that doesn't beat around the bush. Thanks for getting to the point and not having all the fluff that sometimes plagues other people's videos!
Nice base. I love the 'layout shot' from above!
If you time your blocks just right, you can get the skeleton army to beat out Queen's, "We will rock you."
this was really informative but also i really enjoyed the lowkey humour!!! thanks so much!
You've got some great quality videos with a ton of hard info in a short period, super impressed keep it up! :)
Thank you for this amazing video! It is super helpful!!!
1995 hours I spent in Valheim so far and half of the stuff in this video is new to me. Amazing job, Embr!
Regadless of all the informations about the game (which are great!), this is exceptionaly well made video! Lots of work went into it, great job!
This is my first video of yours and you have already earned my subscription.
Thank you for the informative video. I excited to see more
Loved the Shawn of the dead reference. Got a good chuckle.
Super informative video, impressive!
Beautifully constructed video with excellent content and first class editing- well done!
Very indepth and information video. Thanks!

Absolutely top-notch video, informative, well produced, funny. Thanks for sharing.

It is so easy to overlook your engaging video content when the voice over is chuck full of great and organized info. Amazing work 👍👍
I agree! I kept pausing just to check out the quality of the production.
The Eowyn-Witchking cry at 2:35 is underrated 👌 Top notch editing.
Very helpful and humorous video. I really enjoyed it. Thanks for the effort put into all the little details. You have good sense for content creation
Hi embr, thank you for these videos I watched all them when I first started playing and now I’m replaying with friends and rewatching your vids! Hope all is well!
Humble flex with that overhead base shot, that looks amazing.
Also obviously awesome video, thanks!
Really enjoy your guides. It is interesting enough for me to listen through it and informative enough for me to learn new things. Loving it.
This is a pretty good video! Good info, great format and nice delivery. There's also subtle humour, which I appreciate, lol. Also, even tho I already knew some stuff im learning other stuff. Def subbed!
Fantastic video! Great quality, information & editing! Keep up the good work :)
Loved the eowyn scream at 2:30 . Rohan was inspired by thinking ‘what if Anglo Saxons/Vikings had horses’
Learned a lot. Great video, clearly explained everything and lots of substance. Instantly subbed. Thank you!
This was very clearly presented and to the point, excellent video!
hey great vid, good structure, educational, witty, nice calming voice, and Valheim instant thumbs up

Super quality, thanks!
Very professional and informative video! Also easy to listen to and understand
These videos are so well done and polished. Great work!
Thanks for the video. It was pretty clear :) waiting for the new raid info from mistlands :)
An excellent explanation of various facts that I was unaware of. Thanks for the video, very helpful.
This was a wonderfully informative video. Thank you very much. Keep bringing this grade A content.
Great video with great edits haha also liked the thorfinn wolf :D, I see you are a person of culture as well.
Your videos are amazing. Your voice is perfect for narration, your videos are incredibly edited and informative and you have a ton of humor in them. Watched this video a couple of days ago and last night a friend and I got our first raid. I knew what was happening, but like noobs, we weren't prepared and had a bad go of it. We switch from making bronze to fortifying our settlement! LOL
Wonderful video! TY for making this
Outstanding guide! Idk if you'll ever due the a Mistlands expansion to this, but this guide taught me a lot about raids! I knew about time and boss dependent raids, but I had no idea killing certain enemies could initiate a raid event as well!
Moral of the story I'm getting from this. DON'T EVER KILL A BAT! Those raids are the worst and I genuinely believe they should be removed from the game. Adding nothing to the game and restricted builds too much.
Just found your channel and I love it! Your videos are so interesting and helpful and your production value seems high as well as your editing. Great job I look forward to more of your content!
Your video is exceptional! But I am looking forward for the upgraded version of it, including the new Seeker raid, which almost nobody seems to know much about.
Imagine my surprise the first time i had a raid (like a lot of others, I'm learning this game as it throws things at me). Thanks for the video!
Wow! I've been playing since release and was clueless to this info, so busy building! You have the best Valhiem content so much info. I'm HOOKED😁 Thanks
What a thorough and detailed guide, thank you so much!!
I did not expect this video to be so well prepared, edited and explained. You made sure you missed out no details. Also, amazing camera angles! Loved every bit of it
10:17 love the jacko turnip along with armor stand combo
Love your guides! Great editing and informative.
I love your guides! Entertaining and comprehensive. You also have an easy voice to listen to.🙂
Very kind of you to say! Ty ☺️
Great video, I hope you channel blows up when mistlands drops!
I love your video editing. Well placed and concise. 😊
Your video is really well made. Congratulations for the good work!
This is excellently presented with tonnes of great information!
Wow this is the first time im watching you but your channel seems real professional. Will definitely subscribe.
