    Thanks for your videos, very helpful. I put the JBL's in but didn't like them, contacted Crutchfield and they suggested the Kicker speakers and I am blown away by the sound. Love love love them so much more than the JBL's.

    It looks like the company still needs to do more work to the unit ... such as better mounting, fit and finish (you can see the panel in the back of the head unit doesn't quite fit; it has a huge gap with the red clip showing). You are right, it's embarrassing to release a unit that's not quite done.

    • @Rav4Gen5
      @Rav4Gen5  Před 3 lety

      Hey. Yea, it's a bit annoying. The scene with the clips showing (17:42) are because I was in the middle of adding and removing the head unit. The gap is much smaller than that in the end of it all.

  • @Paul-bp9hf

    Can't tell you how much I enjoy the thoroughness of your videos.
    I'm trying to decide to either mount a tablet over my 2021 rav4 HU. Or go with the Dasaita unit.
    $500+ is steep for me but things I thought I'd lose going with that HU I will keep. Like the remote start etc. I know the toyota app somehow reads my tire pressures. Not sure how it works.
    Was told that the tire stems have internal sensors that send their signal to the app. Was hoping your aftermarket HU would beable to make use of those signals but guess not.
    Again. I enjoy your videos and don't mind the details you cover.
    Not sure why Dasaita has not gotten their act together on the mounting hardware. Thanks again and keep up your awesome productions!

    Just installed this on my 2020 corolla sedan. Its awesome! Your install and review of the head unit helped me out alot 👍🏾

    • @Rav4Gen5
      @Rav4Gen5  Před 3 lety +2

      There is an app that is built in that allows to see the front and rear (I don't have front though).

      I have the same car... does the Dasaita still allow you to change headlight timeout behavior? I see settings like door locks and daytime running lights in all these videos, but I've yet to see the headlight timeout setting like the OEM head unit.

    • @FlyingGentile
      @FlyingGentile Před 3 lety +2

      @@mh23hm Short answer NO 🙅🏾‍♂️ it doesn't have a head light timeout feature. But i tried all 3 setting parking, auto and headlight. If you leave the headlight setting on it just does that annoying ding and a message saying turn it off. Just like the oem headunit it does have a dtr light option for on/off. I personally always have it off. When in parking or in auto the car automatically turn both off. As there is no timeout....just off. So there is no need for a timeout 🤷🏾‍♂️

    • @mh23hm
      @mh23hm Před 3 lety +1

      @@FlyingGentile Damn, I love the headlight timeout feature, so I'd miss that. Not sure that's enough to prevent me from getting this though. At least it still shuts them off in auto. Did you have a timeout set before you installed the unit? Kind of wondering if it remembers the last selected setting from the OEM unit or if it defaults to something else once the OEM unit is removed. Basically, is the feature actually lost or just not configurable anymore...?

    • @FlyingGentile
      @FlyingGentile Před 3 lety +2

      @@mh23hm No i never "really" used that feature on the old unit. I never turned it off as i always turned off the lights manually.
      The Dasaita did default all of the setting i had prior. For example had the drl off on the oem one, and sure enough it was off on the Dasaita. I also had the beep for lock/lock set all the way to max and it was the same on the Dasaita.

    This brand in my opinion is good, I bought one for my rav4 2016 I’ve use it for almost 2 years and is working great. My last purchase was one of these for my 2020 rav4 my only issue was the bird eye view button didn’t work unless you put the Vehiculo in reverse just the actual button didn’t work and the automatic turn on of bird eye view by the sensors didn’t work as well. So it kills 2 features of bird eye view for me and I return it. Now I have the 2022 xse and I’m looking to see if they fix those issues which I hope they did because these are really good. Also they have a different version where you can have wireless apple car play which is the one I used to have.

      Nova launch is free in the appstore. There are many launchers to change the interface. This is a popular one with guides on CZcams.
      There is a built in app that allows me to see the rear camera while driving
      If you install a front camera, you can see it too. There is hookup on the back of the unit.

How can I remove that and use the one from the Dasaita unit so I can use the steering wheel function? Because on yours I cannot see the gridlines that I have like blue lines. Also, is your calling bad also? like the other person can hear a loud noise? the engine noise etc? While talking to my brother his telling me it's noisy. Also the unit they sent me it's already the vivid 11 os, different ports on the back also. I got it at amazon designed for the 2019-2023 rav4. Hope you can let me know. Dasaita support gave me link to get the update, it's like they are saying the call/mic issue will get fix by updating it? I never use the extra mic because it sounds the same.

    Thanks again for the detailed info. Maybe you experienced it? I just installed this on my 2021 Toyota Rav4 Prime SE. Everything seems to work fine, chrome, youtube, playing home-made vids from USB, backup camera, etc. The problem I can't seem to figure out is the steering wheel controls. I tried to access it through the settings, from the vehicle menu and even from that Icon labeled "Wheel Key Study"...the one on your video at the 12:30 mark. But no matter what I get to the last screen that says "Press Steering Wheel Buttons" with two options Reset and Save. But it won't allow me to go anywhere to change any settings at all. I've double and tripled checked the connections on your video here and the other one of the installation and all connections are good. I can control volume, access menus, play apps on the Android unit, but not able to "Assign" any steering wheel controls. I don't think it's the Android unit itself, but maybe I'm wrong.....Any ideas or suggestions?
    OOH...by the way...didn't know how to post the pictures or anything, but going off your idea of "Securing the unit with the brackets". I didn't want to drill any holes into the Android unit in case I have to return it in the future for some warranty and run into problems........ so What I did was use thin sheet metal, similar to the metal used on ordinary gutters. very thin metal that you can cut easily. Anyways... I cut a strip not wider than 1 1/2 inch, cut a strip about 11inches long. Drilled a 15/64 inch hole, run the strip up one side, over the top, and down the other side and secured it using the original bolts. It secured it very tight. I didn't know how to weld or anything, and was easy to put on and cut up the thin sheet metal. Worked like a binding strap over the radio and it didn't interfere or damage anything. Just be mindful when cutting it, the edges are sharp, but where it will be place it will not cut into any wires or anything dangerous, it's the person cutting the strip that might get hurt. It took me three times to get the proper strip length to secure it to where it would not move to get it right...but sheet metal was cheap. and if someone is worried it might "Cut" something, simply pad it or wrap it in some soft cloth or leather.
    Keep up the good informational vids.

I'm not really sure if it has to do with the way the RAV4 Prime is designed since it's an electric hybrid. But I am returning the one I bought...then will repurchase again in another week. Overall...as you said..it is a really nice Android unit. I had an Atoto Android Unit before in the past on my other vehicle..and configuring it was no problem. I'll see in another week when I reorder it and will post it here....Just in case one of your viewers/subscribers run into something similar. Another option I might try if the "New one" comes in and the steering control still doesn't work is maybe just purchase a Universal Wireless car Steering Wheel Controller, ALLOMN Car DVD GPS Player Steering Wheel on Amazon. It's not that expensive and I'm not gonna let a simple "can't access" the steering wheel control get in the way.....LIke anything else in life...nothing's perfect...just have to deal with what ya got. Keep up the good work.

I'm running into the same issue of not having a mounting bracket, but I think I can make something work by drilling holes on the original bracket. Would you happen to know if the screws you used (Size #8 - 3/4) if they would fit in the bigger holes on the side of the radio? Those holes appear to be slightly larger than the vent holes and they also seem to have the grooves for a screw to go in them.

      I am not sure what could explain the blurry camera. The hdmi is for sending video signal out of the head unit to a different display. You can use the other auxiliary video input that is available. I am working on a front camera install so you’ll be able to see it there maybe.

    Please correct me if I am wrong, but the way I see it, I'll lose more

    services (remote door locking and engine start). Also while I'm at it,
    where does this unit get it's data feed from? does it feed off of your

      You lose satellite radio. (You can download siriusXM app probably) I do not know about safety connect or remote services (I would assume you lose it). The engine start and door locking still work through the remote. You need to use your phones wifi hotspot or something similiar.
