What a brilliant response from Schmeichel. Many people can learn from that, not just footballers. He could easily have jabbed back at Keane, but he shows him the respect he has for him (at least professionally) as a hugely successful teammate in an iconic squad of players.

He went to city as a f*** you to Sir Alex. After one season in Portugal he wanted to move on again, and Sir Alex urged him to come back to Man U. Schmeichel convinced the chairman at Sporting Lisbon to release him from his contract, and the day after he called Sir Alex several times to get the Man U contract signed, meanwhile Sir Alex dodged him and signed (I think) Barthez instead. And left Schmeichel out to dry. So he lost his loyalty to the club then

He was the greatest Man Utd keeper. His career speaks for its self irrespective of what people call him.
That Manchester United team had something no other team has ever had because no matter what issues players had with each other once they crossed that line wearing the same badge they went out as one. Look at sheringham and cole, Keane and Peter and there was more. This shows what Sir Alex managed to achieve with these players because the badge the club was always the most important thing

Our team was a massive family no feuds (after cancelo left) everyone best of mates and going on vacation together. Utter class on the pitch and off, he saved that united team time and time again, i cant even think of how many points he won united, he was huge for them for so many years, he made saves that were unbelievable, he put in a performance against newcastle were he made 4 or 5 saves that no other keepers in the world could have made.

This has mostly got to do with the fight they had. And here Roy is in the wrong. As a goalkeeper you cant really do anything sometimes but fire yourself up and let off some steam. Outfield players can run , sprint or do a nutmeg. A goalie cant really do anything , he has to react to what's in front of him.
Put yourself in the goalie position and you'll realize after a few months you'll be a frustrated man on the field. Sometimes you have to be a "poser" , your mind doesn't allow you to be graceful all the time bc the pressure is too high. Roy was simply annoyed as Peter got the better of him in the fight
