- Eric Mangini joins Nick Wright, Chris Broussard and Kevin Wildes on First Things First to discuss Aaron Rodgers ruling out the San Francisco 49ers as a possible landing spot next season. Nick believes Aaron Rodgers ruled out the 49ers because he believes they have ruled him out first. The group then discuss whether Rodgers would be able to handle the pressure if he were to play for the 49ers.

For what
For what he has an opinion and I have one
That Odd Couple plug was smooth ngl lol.
It's great if you want to hear someone argue that Brady should be left out of the HOF...
@@mjcastro82 no way Rob said that 😳
Nick said before break (when it was cut off) “people may not know this about me but I’m a Mac Jones guy” that gave me such a laugh
And Aaron Rodgers Bill Belichick combo would be the most fascinating mixture of personalities ever.
1st day of practice imagine Rodgers going there all high loool
It would never workout he's such a cry baby and he doesn't want to win big games he wants money and stats
@@short_kingzzEvery word you just said was straight up delusion
@@short_kingzz Tell me all the other typical liberal lies you subscribe to! 🍿
Brou ups his game every day. It's awesome to see him go on the Herd and just let loose, and show up on FtF and crush right after.
Rogers ain't going to SF cause he couldn't win MVP there
I'm just here for my daily Kevin Wildes dopamine rush.
The look when Coach mentioned the Pats had two defensive coordinators as OCs...
bruh coach mangini with the 🔥🔥🔥 takes
Wildes, Brady and Gronk with a show on Fox. Make it happen
The only good thing for Rodgers going to SF is that he wouldn’t have to lose against it every year😂
Thank God. 🎉
Who said the Niners wanted him anyway?
I thought he said it because of the draft situation in 05
That would be so petty, and so on brand
i think people are missing the point
i don't think that was Rodgers saying he's not going to San Fran, i think that was Rodgers telling us that someone (likely his agent) told him that San Fran wasn't interested
also, GB would not be interested in shipping him directly to an NFC contender
this never made sense on so many levels
Would be cool to see Trey Lance swap with him and compete with Love for the job. Or rather get hurt and surrender the job to Love 😂
Coach could be the 4th on the show. He fits right in and gives a unique perspective.
On the video when Aaron Rodgers made the comment about SF and the guy followed up with the Dallas star comment; all I could think of was Shooter McGavin hiring his obsessive fan to annoy Happy Gilmore.
? Huh?
He knows Green Bay is not going to send him to an NFC
Wildes really spent the last 2 months defending Aaron just to turn around and say he doesn’t want him with the pats 🤔
If he goes there and messes up he can't blame everyone else 🤷♂️
That’s exactly it
Green Bay is not trading him to an NFC team
Always smart to make yourself look like you’re turning down the opportunities
Raiders ? Dallas ? Buccaneers? Saints ?
Jets, Dolphins, Titans, Colts
Raiders are an absolute mess and McDaniels is a dickwad.
I’d be absolutely shocked if it’s not an AFC team but I expect him to run it back with GB. That team is stacked and finally started playing like it the last 2 months.
This is how I feel about dame Lillard. Dude doesn't want them problems of expectations lol.
First 49ers passed up on Drafting him now he won't join them unless Jimmy leaves for another team.
Jimmy is gone no matter what lol he’s not really relevant here.
Jimmy is not going to be on the team. That saga is over.
Never say Never. But....I've seen Rodgers play extremely elite football, and have his GB Packers rolling....and lose a key game on the way to a Superbowl for more than a decade now. It's almost like the Mario Andretti thing...he won it right away, and never again. In one of those games against the giants, so many dropped balls, but it's always something. Weird.
The one single play that I will always remember Rodgers by, is the NFC Championship game a couple of years ago against the Bucs. While the game was on the line, the Packers were in the red zone, Rodgers had a play that would have sealed the game. All he had to do was take the open field to scramble for a T.D. There were defenders there that wouldn't have caught him before he made the end zone, but they were close enough that he would have taken the hit, and Rodgers elected not to scramble for that very reason.
Mahomes, Allen, Burrow, Hurts would all have made that dash to the goal line. But Rodgers chose not to.
One word about California: Taxes
And raging liberals
@@KonaTheDragon um, not quite lol
Two words about Commifornia - Gavin Newscum.
@@IowaNinersFan wow lol
Is the Packers never sending him to an NFC team because they think they're contenders? Smh.
Personally; I think Rodgers wants to retire a Packer & I think it will happen in about 1 year.
If Rodgers' stays, then he'd surely break the Packers all time passing yard record (barring injury), since he's only a little under 400 yds away from Favre's number.
What about the raiders? I bet they want him and they can trade davante with carr. Since devante only wants to play with carr
4 minute video ? Cmon !!
I think it is because he doesn't want to deal with his parents
1) GBP twitter has put up pics of Rodgers playing golf. I'd assume he's not leaving.
2) Nick Wright exhibits the pettiness of a teenage "Heather". What did Rodgers do to emasculate this man and set him off like this?
?
As a Pats fan I would love Rodgers to be on the team. Mac needs a year to figure stuff out and he could learn from one of the best to ever do it. Rodgers could have a legitimate shot at winning another SB, and Belichick might be able to retire with a ring sans Brady, as Brady has already won his sans Belichick.
Dirty, dirty, dirty Mac Jones. He's pretty good you know. I think the 'team' needs to get better.
He ruled out San Fran cause the city is a homeless dump and the State taxes you to a point where you need food stamps making 30 million a year.
Socialism, find a cure.
As a lifelong Californian, I agree 💯
It’s a nightmare and a tragedy what they’ve allowed to happen to that iconic city and state.
I know this a long shot, but if Rodgers stays with the Packers and Brady retires, the Packers have a chance to win the Super Bowl.
That is because:
1. The NFC is weak in terms consistently strong teams. The only NFC team that has consistently made successful playoff runs the last couple of years are the 49ers, not considering the season in which they missed the playoffs because of injuries. And that could happen again.
2. The Packers have rarely missed the playoffs twice in a row since Rodgers is their QB (only once: 2017 and 2018), and never twice in a row under Matt LaFleur.
Since there is no clear-cut favorite in the NFC (especially if Brady retires for good), I think that the Packers, if they make the playoffs and somehow make it to the Super Bowl, can win it. But it would for sure take another MVP-caliber season by Rodgers, this time in the playoffs as well.
I think the reason he ain’t going to San Fran is that he’s the type to still hold a grudge bc they drafted Alex smith over him in the draft 💀💀
So true, we could not afford him anyway.
Signed niners fan!
Nick took that from Colin
He's about to pull a Brett farve.. Vikings 👀
GB won’t do it. Wayyy more likely the other Farve team, Jets
49ers don’t have the money or draft picks to warrant going there!
If the 9ers get him it’s going to butcher the roster for a QB that could retire any year now.
This would leave the 9ers right back at 2017 with no QB and some guys!
Niners don’t have the picks for that.
Why do people think the Packers would even THINK about trading Rodgers to the 9ers? That'd be the dumbest move of all time. Trading your hall of fame QB to the team that knocked you out of the playoffs a year ago.
Cowherd said that I think
Duh, everyone who hates Aaron said that
Rogers should be begging to go to San Fran
this is an awesome segment because you get to see media bla-blas with their BS and a football guy. two complet3ly different sports in america
Exactly why is Rodgers leaving Green Bay? Green Bay fans love him. 🤔
Because GB can get something valuable for him instead of nothing when he walks away.
As a Wisconsin native Rodgers isn’t loved by packer fans. He is seen as a overdramatic princess who should leave or retire. A lot of people want him gone. Not all, but most
@@natalieheelein7727 Cuz y’all been spoiled with 7 MVP’s in the last 25 years, you think that the very dark years that other teams go through won’t happen to you, you’ve lost appreciation for the absurd level of consistency and excellence he’s given y’all. Sincerely, miserable Raiders fan LOL
The Packers just signed Rodgers to a 3 year extension. 2022 Year 1 season was a disappointment but Packers were one win away from making the playoffs. Horrible heartbreaking loss to Detroit at home in the final game kept them out.
But it would have been fun seeing Packers make a run in the playoffs. Packers would have been far more interesting than seeing the Giants and Seahawks flop.
Despite the disappointing season, there is no need to trade Rodgers. He is still playing at a high level. Trading Rodgers would be a step backwards. Do not panic. Work on improving the rest of the team.
Keep the faith.
🙏
Ahead of the 2022 NFL season, Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers agreed to terms on a three-year, $150.815 million contract extension. The three-year extension began in 2022, with two further option years. If both options are picked up, Rodgers would be under contract until 2026.
The extension was a complicated one, containing a $40.8 million signing bonus as part of $101.515 million in full guarantees. The fully guaranteed part of the deal included Rodgers’ salary in 2022 and 2023, his signing bonus, and an option bonus worth $58.3 million in 2023. The 2023 option bonus adds the 2025 year to the deal. That option must be exercised between March 17, 2023, and Week 1 of the 2023 season.
@@Better_Call_Raul He’s only actually a $32M cap hit, too. A common misconception of what he’s owed vs the burden on the actual team, deliberately pushed by the media to vilify him. Last year he was just a $28M cap hit! The back to back MVP isn’t even a top 10 cap hit and yet they always say “he’s too selfish, Brady always took a pay cut!” They’re so out of touch with reality and just repeat what they’ve heard.
Colts

Rodgers: I am ruling out 49ers.
49ers: you do you
If he goes to San Francisco and doesn't win a super bowl which will be highly expected, it'll poop on all the little MVP he got and the touchdowns to int he has and will prove he never had it regardless the team you put around him
Come to the NY FOOTBALL GIANTS. Would Love to have him. But to be honest, if Aaron Rodgers has turned down the 49ers then he's not really trying to win a Super Bowl because going to San Francisco would up his chances in winning it all by over 90%
It's a ready-to-go situation in SF. Purdy etal., need a year to mature etc...That's bewildering honestly.
They did him dirty in 2005. He's never gonna let that go.
As a die hard cowboy I say "shhhhh we're in a library..." 😳😬😭
I wanna see Danny Dimes one more time with a designed QB run heavy attack
Why are you talking about the team that he ruled out instead of the one he didn’t..cmon where are the 9ers coming from ?
Aaron Rodgers is 0-4 against the 49ers in the playoffs
AR12 TO MIAMI
Rodgers a front runner
Aaron Rodgers in NE? Worst idea ever
Aaron may be wanting to stick to areas where the local media won’t shred him for his views.
I have news for Rogers - the Niners don’t want him. He should go to the Raiders
He ruled out the 49ers because the Packers would never trade him there.
Aaron us still PO’ed from the fact that 49ers drafted Alex Smith over him. As a Cal and 49ers fan, I am with him. And frankly Aaron is too old for what Kyle Shanahan is trying to do.
Rodgers straight up said quit running all these motion bullcrap plays hahaha
Shanahan’s style is definitely not Rodgers’ thing.
Landing spot would be a team wanting a Diva
Nah mon 🔑
*If purdy can beat TB12, he can beat Rodgers*
Purdy is going to miss a large part of next season, and nobody knows if he'll ever be able to throw properly again. SF needs a top QB for next year, and Purdy is not it.
We wouldn't want him anyway
I think cause they passed on him in the draft
49ers get their young quarterbacks hurt. O-line isn't good enough for old q's.
Why would anyone want rodgers.
Rodgers is too expense and too much draft capital. He can't move that well anymore either.
He's not going to find a TEAM with a better ROSTER than the 49ERS have currently. He's stupid to pass on them.
The Cowboys. I don't know about better but maybe just as good. Dak was really the reason they lost to the Niners.
I mean… “San Fran” is a sh*t hole lol
If he went to the 49ers he'd technically be going to Santa Clara so...
Still full of left wing extremists who hate Aaron’s existence with a passion.
As if the niners would want Rodgers!!! Ha. Ha.
Hot take: joe burrow is this generation’s Aaron Rodgers and Patrick mahomes is this generations Tom Brady. I’m guessing Joe only gets 1-2 super bowls
Or Mahomes is this generations Kurt Warner and Burrow is the next Brady. Only time will tell. But my guess is there isn't going to be another Brady.
@SeanFication 😅Yea... hate to tell you. Mahomes has already blown past Warners playoff appearances, records etc.
Only gets 2 Superbowls 😂
That’s a dream career.
Y’all need to calm way down with these projections.
The likely hood that Mahomes wins 4 Superbowls is low.
I’m so glad I wasn’t the only one who saw Rodgers was not going to let Brady outshine him on his retirement and hof. He wants everyone to get on their knees when he leaves lmao
Dude, no one should want you after the numbers you put up last year. Smh did he even have a 300 yard game last year? 😂
He had a 147 rating game, better than Brady, Mahomes, Allen ever did. They finished the year on a tear after a dogshit start. They need to run it back with that same exact team.
Bears 🐻
Trade Dak to GB and take ROdgers Cowboys!
Dak and how many first rounders?
San Francisco a great place to live 🤣🤣🤣🤣
As a lifelong Californian,
😂😂😂😂😂😂
Didn’t think of that, there is no way rodgers is going to be qb #2 in his HOF class.
I hope when Aaron does retire Belichick announces 45 minutes later...
Chris that’s easily the worst take you’ve had! Packers super bowl is hilarious 🤣🤣🤣
Kinda obvious that he's not going to San Fran since he's still holding that grudge about them taking Alex Smith over him.
When the poor man steals
Don’t blame the poor man when he steals. The rich raise the rent raise the food raise the gas and lower the wages, what do you want the poor man to do? And I will come near you for judgment; I will be a swift witness
Against sorcerers, Against adulterers, Against perjurers,
Against those who exploit wage earners and widows and orphans,
And against those who turn away an alien-Because they do not fear Me, ”Says the LORD of hosts. “Your words have been harsh against Me,” Says the LORD, “Yet you say, ‘What have we spoken against You?’
You have said, ‘It is useless to serve God; What profit is it that we have kept His ordinance. The Prophet Malachi, The Holy Scriptures, The Word of God. Judgment is coming.
Aaron rodgers and lbj can put up big numbers that don’t Translate to wins
Niners don't want a drama queen like Rodgers who crys about everything and blames everyone else for losses. He'll be a cancer to any team he plays for.
Broussard’s take here is ridiculous. Because Aaron is who he is, every year has the expectations of a Super Bowl.
Aaron Rodgers ain't going back to no Super Bowl! He is an old diva with no flash left! We need younger divas in this league🤣
If a black guy had 4 MVPs and a ring, nobody would be allowed to call him a diva or difficult, it would be a culture issue 🙄
🤔 I smell BS. I still think he will sign with the niners.
He still has 2 years left on his current GB contract.
@@IowaNinersFan Contract's use to mean something.
Aaron won't see another Super Bowl no matter where he goes. He's his own greatest roadblock. What made TB great was that he'd do anything to win. He'd cheat, he'd take less money than he was due, he'd study like a maniac, practice early, practice late, even sacrifice his own marriage... and everyone in that locker room would go to war for him and with him. Aaron doesn't inspire that. He'll have amazing stats and 1 win.
Then Aron Rodgers is a fool
What team will sign fraudsters. There’s a reason Packers wants to move on. The guys sucks. He’s nothing without Adams. He won a Super Bowl 13 years ago when there was no pressure on him and the Bears would’ve waxed them if it was not for injuries. You people are delusional
Even my dad has brains about this answer. People automatically judge Rodgers saying he’s dumb but haven’t any of you thought that maybe he doesn’t want to ruin what the niner have over there with 2 young qb’s they have and he doesn’t want to ruin all the things purdy did for the niners? Oh yeah I forgot nobody thought of that cause everyone is so brainwashed into being negative
Lmao. Really guys. Rodgers is not going to SF because he is still a little kid who holds grudges. He is still mad that they passed him over in the draft. Helloooooo. Do you guys not remember this. He has said it multiple times that he is still mad at them.
He won't go to San Francisco because of competition Brock Purdy looms large
