- In a snowy defensive slugfest, the San Francisco 49ers delivered the final blow to Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers with a 13-10 win. San Francisco held the reigning MVP in check as he failed to throw a touchdown for only the second time in his postseason career, as Green Bay couldn’t find the end zone after its first drive of the game. Skip Bayless and Shannon Sharpe debate the percentage Rodgers deserves for the Packers' loss.

RODGERS, JANUARY 2020: "I’ve said this before: We’ve got to get one of these at home. It’s a different ballgame. It’s different playing in 20-degree weather and snow. Cold and wind is a different type of game than playing here"
Yes, Aaron, it was a different ballgame. No, Aaron, you and team still choked at Lambeau (again) when it mattered most.
All that cold weather means is everyone is cold. Has nothing to do with talent. San Francisco just played has a team. Gb thought Aron and Adam's could do it by themselves

@@michaelhenry7246 nah lol defense was the only group that played. Rodgers was trash.
“We own you!” 49ers to Aaron Rodgers.
Rodgers only needed to score more than 13pts. Him and his relatively healthy offense only scored 10pts. People can talk all they want about the Packers’s special teams, but that doesn’t change the fact that an offense like theirs was only able to score 10pts.
His o line was hurt baktihari was inactive, they was using there third tackle and a new guard. But he still got 30% of the blame
As a packers fan. You're right, rodgers deserves just as much blame as anyone else on the team
“Relatively healthy” missing baktiari, missing elgton jenking, missing Robert Tonyan, missing Valdez Scantling, missing AJ Dillon. Yeah dog super healthy offense. To me the offense should have put up 16 pts. Lost 3 on blocked field goal and 3 when mercedes lewis fumbles in Fg territory. Packers punt and then win 13-3 and people say Rodgers played efficient football in 0 degrees. Winning changes bias narratives
Right, dude is the supposed MVP and all I'm hearing from his fans is that special teams lost him the game. If he puts up more than 10 points (let's say 13 since they had a FG blocked) they would have won the game regardless, he didn't show up.

The cowboys?… who ven their fans knew they didn’t have a chance.
This loss is 90% on Aaron Rodgers. You’re the best team in the league, one of the best oline, running game, receiving core (with the best WR in football), and defense and you lose to a wild card team?? The defense held the 49ers offense to 6 points! Packers fans always blame the defense for their playoff losses.
On the last two packers drives, the mvp, the best QB in football, went 3 n out twice with the game on the line. Even jimmy g was clutch enough to get them to field goal range to win the game.
I give the last 10% of the blame to the special teams, but if you know your special teams is that bad, you keep them off the field. That block punt was the result of a Rodgers 3 n out.
I never want to hear anyone compare Rodgers to Brady ever again.

The o line was not good
He was sacked how many times? Lol this man when 20-29 for 220.. how is it his fault? It's cliche to blame the qb BUT for to say Rodgers shouldn't be compared to Brady the ludicrous.. I think I've found the difference between Brady and Rodgers. In the toughest games, Brady responds to the situation. His team rises to the challenge and you can see the momentum controlled by Brady. He has poise. He has mastery of a game's flow and tempo. Rodgers is phenomenally skilled. He doesn't put it all together to respond to the color and countenance of the game. Brady is so mesmerizing because he finds a way-low score, high score, shootout, clock management, comebacks, all of it. Rodgers just plays the position. Brady leads.
Tru like with brady its a army coming down that field but with Rodgers he puts its on his back his clutch throws is a work of god🤣
The difference is brady plays from the heart rodgers don't
I've never been a Brady fan, but definitely. Something's always been missing with Rodgers.
@@Thundergodxix Yes. Heart.
Idk about all that. I'll give credit to Tampa Bay as a whole rather than Brady. You don't get to score 0 points in a half and get huge credit for "leading" when it results in a loss. Most of Brady's great throws came when the Rams started to play soft coverage to just let the clock run.
Brady got the huge luxury of his defense forcing 4 turnovers, and yet he still managed to do nothing most of the game. Both Rodgers and Brady played terribly. Brady saved face a little bit, but then again, he played in much better weather and even though I love that Rams defense, the 49ers defense is simply on another level. The 49ers front 4 is in a tier of its own, which is why they owned the Rams twice this season already.
The Tampa defense did its thing for Brady just like last year when they forced 2 turnovers (and a ton of 3-and-outs) against Green Bay to save Brady from his own 3-Int performance. This time, they defense couldn't save Brady again, but it came real close.
Aaron Rodgers may not have been the sole reason they lost but he didn't lead them either. That 3rd and 11 he had Lazard wide open and he decided to throw it deep to Davante who was double covered. He didn't get it done.
if the qb isnt leading them then its the qbs fault. Yes every qb doesnt have to throw a lot of tds and have a perfect td/into ratio, but if youre not making plays and moving the ball then youre going to lose
Agreed. A player of Rodgers caliber should always come out on top in those type of games under those circumstances

Skip's assesment of Rodgers playoff wins was hilarious.
It's 60-70% Roger's fault. The game was tied 10-10 with around 4 minutes left. The whole season is on the line with Aaron Rogers getting the ball back with plenty of time to go down and get a winning field goal. He couldn't do it. He went 3 and out. He couldn't put together one drive in the 4th quarter to win the game or at least put them in a position to win it. For all his efficiency, for all his gaudy numbers, Rogers simply can't make the throws in the postseason when it really matters.
60% or 70% 95% times a team scored 10 points lost Rodgers is 95% to blame and 5% to blame off the field
5% off the field? He didn’t get 4 boosters boo. 🤡

I’ve been the biggest Aaron Rodgers fan you can find over the last 10 years & today is the first time I’m finally giving it up. Shannon was absolutely right, the moments you NEED your QB to come through in the playoffs , Rodgers just doesn’t stand tall like Brady can.
Right there with you. I still love Aaron he just doesn’t get the job done :(
It’s mostly been luck too. This game and 2014 Seattle game are the only ones I actually blame on Aaron
I think he's just sooo catious when you have to make THE play. like how stafford did in the last min. Also he's not a very good leader, he doesn't go back to players after they make a mistake which is horrible leadership from your star QB
@@faruqcisse4493 well he has played well enough in the playoffs to win those games, this just wasn’t his year
@Peter Angles the rams fumbled 4 times, he had many chances to take the lead and score and the defense held the rams scoreless for almost a half. Brady played horrible too lmao
Aaron deserves 90 percent of the blame. You are an mvp qb at home and you score 1 to on your opening drive. In over 3 quarters he did nothing and if it wasn't for a blown coverage where Jones caught a pass and went 70ish yards, he would have thrown for under 200 yards.
This season yes but try explaining his defenses consistently failing him year after year I mean they allowed an average 37 ppg against his defense in nfc championships, oh wait I forgot he needs to play defense like Tom Brady mb
@@grimreaper470 his defense got him 5 picks in an nfc championship game and he put up 19 points then 22 with a game tying fg at the last drive. You know what helps a defense keeping the ball, dominating top, and creating advantageous field position. The defense isn’t the reason he lost to Seattle, it was the reason they beat the bears, they weren’t the reason against the 49ers either time, and they weren’t at fault against the Bucs. His defense gave him 3 picks and he did nothing with them. They had no business being in the Atlanta cc so well just ignore it
@@jasonarmstrong9656 all bs points that onside was the MAIN FACTOR and the one year he did have a defense they won that shows you what he can do when they can hold and rewatch the Atlanta game and see how is offense completely choked on him, again with Seattle he was facing the leagues number 1 defense (an all time one nevertheless) with a calf injury, and your right go had no business facing Atlanta but still came from 4-6 and won out until that point. Shannon would’ve gave Dak %90 of the blame. Now all of a sudden “it’s a TEAM game” 😂
Aaron Rodgers coming up short is a huge reason why they lost but let’s not overlook the defensive performance by SF. They completely took Davante Adams out of the game and didn’t allow one passing touchdown the entire game.
Maybe if Rodgers threw the ball at literally anybody else he would’ve won.
Also he had the ball when it was tied with 4 mins to go and he goes 3 and out.... you can't go 3 and out there
But Lazard was open several times and Rodgers continued to pass it to Adams. That’s why the blame is on Rodgers.
Even if we we win that game we would've lost the next, Rodgers exposed without Adam's he can't move the ball
Lazard and EQ was opened on the final drive but he was locked on Adams or was too predetermined with his throw before snap. Scan the field and take what the defenses is giving you. Used Adams as decoy for the others. FYI Rodgers is 10-1 in games without Adams (Edited) Not a FYI. It's more of Did You Know?
Shannon was wrong GB actually held Jimmy to 6 pts. the special teams got their only TD...
Drops also played a big part. Jimmy started the game 0/5 with 4 drops by his receivers, including a dime to Kittle who should've been able to walk into the endzone.

Rodgers is no fraud. If you get sacked 5times, get a field goal blocked and a punt blocked for a TD what can you do. We’ve seen Brady win A SB with no TDs and a INT. This is a team sport!
Rodgers is an INCREDIBLE talent, but he consistently falls apart post season...he looked dead out there. The whole offense looked bad...couldn't convert a 3rd down to save their lives, but the de facto leader of that terrible offense, the quarterback, is ultimately responsible. Everyone knew special teams was terrible, but the offense was arguably more terrible by putting them in a position to need to rely on special teams. GB lost to a team that didn't even score an offensive or defensive touchdown...ridiculous.

The problem is that a lot of people hail him as the most talented QB ever and a decent amount of people even have him as an all-time better QB than Brady(who I'm not even a fan of). Yet a lot of the time in playoffs he plays well enough to never cause the team to lose, but rarely well enough to cause the team to win. More often than not it's been the packers choking with Rodgers showing up.
Rodgers is fine with losing as long as he can deflect the blame, that's why he cares more about his stats than winning football games and this becomes painfully obvious in the playoffs. You'll see Brady throwing 50/50 interceptable deep balls at the end of the half because he might still get a PI or a big play off of it and even if it gets INT'd it's not a big deal, Rodgers would never do that.

That’s the uncelebrated reason the pats were so dominant for 20 years. Their special teams were always the best in the league from their kickers, to their punt returners, and kick returners. Always flawless.

You're 1000% correct. It's like, people just forget special teams is 30% of the game. I'm trying to think of a comparison, and it's like fans just thinking about pitching & hitting in baseball. Judging pitcher's greatness and batter's greatness. All while the teams fielding part of the game, being an afterthought. The way the value system works on offense and defense in football, the way the blame, and team success hangs on the QB's "greatness". And our perception of legacies, a star player's, star power determiming the outcome of games. Mainly QB (or pitcher in the example.). And like Ray Lewis, Revis Island, Ed Reed being the hitters or batters in the baseball example. With special teams most of the time being an afterthought. Unless it's a big splash play. That hurts your team, loses the game, or a return TD or something. In reality special teams is just as important to football as it is in fielding in baseball. And has a big effect on teams winning, and getting to superbowls and things. And the patriots were leagues above other teams in special teams. The coaching, execution, and organization was always near flawless during the patriots dynasty. And it's not nearly talked about enough when discussing NE's dynasty.

Since 2012, Aaron Rodgers is 22-30-1 (.424, a losing record) against teams that finished the season with a winning record. Tells you all you need to know about Rodgers, and why he constantly comes up short in the playoffs, the level of competition is greater in the playoffs, and he can't handle it. He's a fraud, just like his MVP was this year.
Really just a regular season stat guy, who beats up on lower competition, huh? Lions, Bears, sometimes Vikings (no offense to any fans).
Kind of what Dak is turning into honestly. My guy.
But then again. If you look up any other QB, I'm sure their records look similar, man
He want that Patrick money 💰 that's why he good in the regular season games when it matters he doesn't get it done.
Facts don’t lie
He's a different player against great defenses. He gets happy feet and panics in the pocket. Rushes throws even when he has time.
25%? Bruh he gave Brady 75% and acting like Rodgers played like Brady.
@Eli Benda nooo way. Brady had an unhealthy offence and the defense didn't help out. Brady's willingness to go all in is why the Bucs could (and should, secondary messed up on Kupp all game) have won the game. Rodgers pulled one opening drive and disappeared. Brady is the true MVP.
@Eli Benda 40 percent!?!?!?! No Wirfs, no Godwin, no AB, no Perriman, no Grayson, Donovan Smith doing his best impression of a traffic cone, defense giving up 70yard TDs on busted coverages and 30 points AT HOME, tyler johnson dropping everything in sight..... and you give Brady almost HALF the blame for that?????
@Eli Benda Everyone always blames the Packers losses on the defense. Then, when the front office drafts defensive player in the first round, they get crucified for not getting Rodgers more weapons instead 🤔.
Well now, the defense held the 9ers to 6 points! Rodgers at home, couldn't score more than 3 points after the opening drive. This is supposed to be an all time great QB, and he goes out like that?!
He deserves 90% of the blame.
That throw on 3rd and 11 to Adams instead of going to Lazard is straight up choking!
Brady didn't lose "fully loaded" as Wilbon said, too may injuries to o-line & receivers. Plus Brady walked off the field with his team tied.
@@zachgilbert3815 He also got gift-wrapped 4 turnovers, including 2 critical fumbles in enemy territory, & a somehow missed short 47-yd. FG by the opposing team. He got incredibly, INCREDIBLY lucky that they even got that close to winning in the first place, like he usually does.

Decision making is the most important ability a qb can have. Knowing when to take a risk, playing safe at times, taking advantage of open targets even for a small gain, throwing on tight windows when it matters. There's a reason Brady did the work with guys like Amendola, Hogan, Edelman and Dorsett and that's because he delivered. During yesterday's game Tyler Johnson dropped some very decisive balls and yet that didn't discourage Brady to take shots. Post season is not for the quiet guys. Allen and Brady went down like heroes.

I agree with Skip Bayliss 💯 percent. Aaron Rodgers is a really great QB, he never comes through in the playoffs. Only (1) superbowl in all those playoffs appearances. No reason to lose at home.
I'll talk trash about Rodgers, but ultimately, he's still great and there's no shame in bowing out to the 49ers. I love the Cowboys and we got stunned by that team too. I was worried about that matchup immediately because of their damn front 4. They're just elite to the point where it's frustrating to watch them constantly shed blocks while also being so damn fast that your QB can't get it out on the flats without them being johnny on the spot with the tackle. Everything about that 49ers defense screams Super Bowl Winner imo.
Plus their offense is just dynamic enough to make them a nightmare. You've got Kittle and Deebo who are just so unique, Jimmy G is able to pull out 3-4 magnificent passes every game somehow, then you've got their coach calling plays that you don't see normally. It's like he's playing chess in the trenches and this leads to a ton of confusion, missed assignments, etc. I don't envy the Rams next week given that they have already gotten beat by the 49ers twice.
The media needs to pay attention to this 49ers team. They're no joke. It's time to stop overlooking just how difficult of a team this is to handle because they dominate the aspects of the game you need to dominate to win chips. They can pressure your QB with 4 guys, they can cover the flats, they can run the ball, they have two skilled guys in Deebo and Kittle who can come through in the clutch, and they can force 3-and-outs over and over. They're not a bend-don't-break defense... they don't bend or break lol. After a while in that game in Arlington, I was just amazed at how well they could pressure and run the ball...it's like, wtf do you do against that?
Idk how you can get paid 50m a year and lose to a team that didn't score an offensive touchdown and not take a bigger part of the blame.
Rodgers always gets a pass because people are enamored with his "arm talent". The irony in it all is that to Aaron Rodgers himself, he's always the biggest victim and pariah for everything no matter what. Dude's completely disconnected from reality lol

*Kicker to 6 pts
@@Just_Brigood plus extra point
He gets a C- for the game and overall, a C for his playoff life. The offensive linemen get an F for play blocking and special teams blocking. It may have been a worse performance than Arizona because I think it effected the game where Arizona's QB problems may not have been fixed with a second or 2 more time. Jimmy G arm/hand problem are critical, he threw no balls 0 balls into the endzone other than the slow wobbly interception, he threw the quick slant well 3 or 4 times in the middle of the field. They have to have 20 plays for Lance if they want to win because I expect the Rams to avoid early turnovers and put 20 points on the board, he is incapable of putting that many points on the board with his weak, wobbly arm without defensive scores.
Jimmy really outplayed Rodgers! Yes he threw a pic but Rodgers fumbled in the end zone and then Jimmy Ward blocked the FG to end the half. Had Kittle caught the pass over the middle we wouldn't have been playing catch up the whole time.
Or if Aaron Jones didn't slow down at the end of the half, it likely would never have come down to a ST blunder.

😂😂😂 Boy, Packers fans have to be besides themselves!!! 😂😂😂
All of these playoff losses are killing Aaron Rodgers’ legacy. All of that greatness, and only ONE Super Bowl appearance to show for it!!!
It’s because he stat pads every game and plays it conservative. It’s why his stats look crazy, and its why he gets smoked in the playoffs because playing it safe and stat conscious will get you an L quick. If every QB played like that they’d have have a 4 to 1 TD/INT ratio.
Easy to understand...Since 2012, Aaron Rodgers is 22-30-1 (.424) against teams that finished the season with a winning record. So in the playoffs, he's not only playing teams above .500 but he's playing the top teams in the entire league. That's why his postseason record is even worse than his record against .500 teams.
