- Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers beat the Dallas Cowboys 31-28 in overtime yesterday as home underdogs. Mike McCarthy made the call to go for it on 4th-and-3 from the Green Bay's 35-yard line on the first possession of overtime. After the game, he explained that quote: 'We were right on the line for the field goal but I felt we needed to go for it ... our thing was just keep playing, we had good calls. I'm fine with the decision ... we just didn't convert.' Skip Bayless and Shannon Sharpe debate whether the Cowboys should have gone for it or not.

Nah you guys beat a fraud Cowboys team. They did this last year too. Remember they started 6-2 and then Denver destroyed them. This year GB was just playing the part of the Broncos last year. Also last years Cowboys team was better than this year's team.
Also the Cowboys had trouble with the Bears and had trouble with the Lions for 3 quarters until they started turning the ball over. Dallas is a good team but not a serious contender.

I didn't miss Cooper Rush but I did miss the Cooper Rush formula. Run, run, run....play action pass. I'm starting to hate to see Dak in shotgun formation. It shows the focus is on the pass and then we cross them up with a run. Reverse that! Get under center and show run then cross them up with the pass. That's the best way to utilize Dak.

Good defenses stop the run and don't give up 14 point leads in the 4th quarter. It's time to accept the fact that we are not an elite defense.

I am more surprised that parsons essentially disappeared. Coming into this game I thought that he would feast on Rodgers as the oline has been weak. They had Parsons playing inside backer for most of the 2nd half for some reason. Coaches deserve as much of the blame, if not more, than Parsons does.

It's hard for him to get sacks when Rodgers only throws 20 times. The Packers nullified him by running the ball. Can't hit the QB when GB is running the ball.

I dont hate the call to go for it on 4th down the problem is McCarthy's playcalling in critical situations is AWFUL. Why pass on 3rd and 4 when your run game was killing it all game? If you knew by 2nd down that its 4 down territory why not get 1-2 yards and make it even more manageable? McCarthy is just AWFUL in late game critical situations

IN THE MOMENT dak went 6/14 for 58 yards....is that good???

Honestly, it didn't really matter them going for it. Packers were likely gonna score a TD with how well they were running the ball, and opening up the passing game by the end of things.
This is the same argument against the Dez no catch game. Cowboys fans will tell you the TD would have made a huge difference but the Packers offense was rolling that day and were going through the Cowboys D like a hot knife through butter

That’s exactly what I was yelling at the tv (12 min 30 sec) … why aren’t we running the ball , why do we have more pass attempts than run we usually do 27 pass plays and over 35 run plays from the games we won
What really happened is LaFleur finally and shockingly realized his original plan wasn't working AND made an adjustment to that failed plan. Everyone could see GB wasn't a passing team anymore but they could be a decent old school running/defensive team that ran the ball, chewed up the clock, give the D a chance to rest and make a few critical big passes and relied on the rested D. But since this wasn't what LaFleur planned to do, he wouldn't do it. I guess it took a 5 games skid and tossing the season to get him to change his precious plan.
This game the Packers averaged 5.3 Yards per carry. Easy to keep running the Ball in that scenario. Against Washington they had 3.2 Yards per carry. Against the Jets 3.0 Yards per carry.
