Fix or Fab: X carve cutting aluminum fast!

- Here we are cutting a proof of concept for a t4 turbo flange. Drew this in easel. Aluminum is 0.125” 6061.
Used this boss Kodiak 2 flute cutting end mill purchased from amazon.

Thank you! This worked for me. I used these settings with a Kodiak 5463502 (3/32" cutter).
What is your cut rate? And do you have any tips/caveats regarding milling aluminum with the xcarve?
This is what I have saved in my notes. I've pushed it to 34ipm and no issue

27in/min
3in/min plunge rate
0.01” depth per pass.

i know its proof of concept but damm, would had done that in 20 min with a drill and a hand saw

Yes you simply remove the tabs in the cam before you start machining

@@GaZaLoC1 but the tabs locate the pieces so they dont come loose. Another way to do this would be to use tape and glue the piece to the table like in my other video
