I got left when my father committed suicide because she couldn't handle my depression. Her exact words? "I didn't sign up to raise 2 toddlers." This was about 2-3 months after his passing.
I shared some of my past with my ex when we broke up because of her cheating. She shared my past with everyone, and it took 10 years for me to rebuild my reputation so I don't tell people anything about myself anymore
Women overcome trauma more easily because they are more likely to get the help they need even if they never really ask for it and men don't, so we learn not to ask for it which translates into why men actually complete the act of "self-destruction" along with the way we do it even if women are 3-4 times more likely to attempt the act...when you read the entire set of stats when you look it up online.

I think what that person was referring to, was that male brains tend to have bigger determination portions (which isn't a bad thing). The fact women's determination portion is a smaller, she us more likely to let go it earlier than men.

We are expected to be open with our feelings when it suits there objectives and goals in relationships but when we are in need we expected to maintain emotional composure like every man on earth is supposed to deal with emotional trauma and not have PTSD. So as not compromise the mission. Like there is only one flavor of men. And if your not it your not a man. There is no single spectrum of manhood. We come in many tones and grains. Some of us are hemlocks, others are jack pine. Not every man is a Sequoia or Giant Redwood. Behind the bravado is a soft heart and it is fragile as an egg around a woman he loves. Even one that constantly betrays him physically and emotionally. Even though it is not on the surface evident, the society that molds us and idolizes us to keep our emotions in check. Today I am but a bonsai i am tending too. What looks like a tiny tree in a cliff face could have seen a thousand years. But you'd never know. Many assume it is just an immature tree. perhaps I am like that tree. I am the Giving Tree. All I ever wanted to do was make my woman happy. If not she can cut me down and make a boat of me and sail away. If i am cryptic btw I am sorry but gleam my over my words a few more times for the pieces to fall together the right way.

Funny, in college going through criminal bahavior class, we were taught that women internalize their emotional pain, and men externalize it. Externalizing and leading to fits of violence, and destructive behavior. Sometimes I can sit through a lecture and silently disagree with much of whats being said. My personal experiences with people teach me things that contradict what college was trying to teach me. I have seen women fly into violent rages over the slightest disrespectful tone from a friend or lover. Most men I know keep it to themselves and let it fester to the point of dark bitterness. They become antisocial, off putting, and weird. Lots of criminal minds have self control issues, but its painted up as men always being the problem. Hasnt always been true from my standpoint. Women and men think differently- very true. Deal with inner trauma differently- very true. Men look foolish and weak when we give into our emotional side. Women cut loose, and many come to the rescue. Suicide rates? Men lead. Men suffer in silence, zero purpose, in a society we can no longer relate to. It takes a strong imagination to cope, it takes innovation, thinking outside the box, and to become manic in work and hobbies. For me, it takes all that and lots of solitude when I have the time off, I spend it in deep thought about life, religion, the supernatural, politics, and ways to beat the system at its own game. I try never to indulge in negative memories or negative energies that bring me down.
