    I started mouth taping about a year ago. My jaw and tongue position gradually corrected naturally without even being concious of it. My sleep quality has improved 100% and my memory recall has shot up dramatically. My dental hygienist says my dental health is the best it's ever been!

    My dentist told me I was a mouth breather. I just laughed thinking it was a joke. But didn't realise it was a thing. 😮 So now I must learn. I think I started this when I was a teen and my nose got blocked from dust allergy. I eventually just never noticed and the thoughts of only breathing through my nose seems ridiculous. How do you keep your tongue at the roof of your mouth when your muscles are relaxed? This works great when awake but I find that when my jaw relaxes just before falling asleep my airway closes (like a flap just snaps shut) and prevents exhaling. I never have any problems inhaling just exhaling. I have to sleep on my side or stomach to prevent it since it only occurs when I'm on my back.

      Check out the side effects of sleep apnea. One form of this is "obstructive sleep apnea", when someone is sleeping and the tongue falls backward into the throat and momentarily blocks the breath until the brain causes the person to gasp. Who knows if this could apply to you? An Ear/nose/throat Doctor (ENT), that's who. Perhaps you should have a sleep study to know for sure. The statistics are "epidemic" and only 20% of people all over the world have been diagnosed. Also you don't have to be middle-aged or older or overweight, though the majority of sufferers are. Lying down with a slack throat and tongue can allow acid to rise into the upper esophagus. Think about this if it really bothers you. Good luck.

    • @colourstreetukraine
      @colourstreetukraine Před 10 měsíci

      Yes it can, when mouth breathing you’re in sympathetic state “fight or flight”, so parasympathetic state “rest and digest” is suppressed, your body produces less stomach acid and causes heartburn

      yes. there are some people who claims that they still benefit from mewing even at the age of 30+.
      Alternatively you can also tape your mouth while sleeping. Im sure there are some products online designed for that somewhere out there.
      Eventually, mouth taping will teach her to nose breathe while sleeping.

      People continue to grow into their mid-twenties. Breathing through the nose, as he said, promotes breathing a better quality of air, which means more oxygen that carries more nutrition to the muscles and skin. A better complexion is always good, along with good skin care. Aside from that, remember your face is the product of the unique combination of genes gifted to you from hundreds of generations of your ancestors. Congratulations.
