- Not sure how old this saw is, but I believe I've seen lots of advertisements for the drill powered accessories in the old 1950's-1970's Popular Mechanics magazines. It can't cut much deeper than 3/4", and this one came with a rip blade and a crosscut blade. The crosscut blade had a ding in it, and I didn't feel much like testing it out this day. Blade diameter is about 4".
Awesome tool! They had these in Australia too in the 50s and 60s, a drill could do anything, polish your car, cut wood, etc. One tool does the lot!
Duude!! Less than 5 F-ing mins ago I realized in the middle of a brainstorm of adapting my grandfathers Mall Drill (he bought from a door to door Salesman while working on his MF out in the pasture) into a small mini mill, that my most treasured drill had a large circular mounting collet directly behind the chuck head! ff> I quickly yt to see if I was correct in just now realizing my drill made in Chicago Ill was intended to power other types of cutting and milling tools!!! Hit me up if you’d like to see it in action and I’ll download a video
I have two of them that I plan to restore. Did you sharpen the blades? I plan to start o collection of drill powered tools and make something only using them. Very nice video.
I love how this really doesn't need to exist, but it does.
So true, yet I still would have loved to have one when I was a kid. It really feels like a toy!
Wish mine would come apart like that. My arbor is frozen to the blade. I'm soaking it up now with blaster to free it up.
Need angle wrench making process with miter gear
That is really cool. It made a drill a multi tool before there were multi tools.
Rusty Glovebox I've got a drill powered planer up on deck right now.
