    Good video, sure to help many people. I'm confident you already know, there is an option to delete the tracks with a double tap as apposed to holding the button. Thought I would mention this as it is my preference.

      Poly can be done, it's interesting. they stay perfectly in sync, unless you turn that off. see manual for info.

      push the edit button thats overr the stop button and then use the arrow buttons at the top right corner of the machine to set it from AUTO to FREE, then all rythms and recordings will be free from one another allowing different lengthened loops and polyrhythms hope this helps🙃

    • @VJFranzK
      @VJFranzK  Před 5 lety +3

      By default, the second loop will be the same length as the first. If You dont want this, should set your loops to "Free" timing beforehand, which I recommend, because it's more open for doing what you want.

    the speed up / down artifact happens in the Rc-202, also. I wish Roland would use 24bit as the TC helicon VoiceLive. The VoiceLive doesn’t seem to have that problem(feature?) , I believe it’s the 16bit sampling that causes the effect. Great info here, btw.

    Hey VJ Franz K. I know that you answer questions pretty much, so I like asking you things, but you know how when your playing a loop and you stop that loop, it cuts the note and the note reverb or delay right off. Say that I want the song to end by stopping it, but it still plays the notes reverb or delay, is there anyway to do that? I know that there is the overdub that will allow it to play through to the beginning of the loop, but I would like to somehow stop the beat or track, and still hear the delay or reverb? I wonder if pressing the overdub button somehow while stopping the track could somehow be possible, but I can't find a work around, and if I go to put those tracks into a daw, I'm confused on how to get the reverb or delay to play out when the note stops at the end of the loop, since it stops automatically on the looper? I know it might sound confusing, but if you can help try to answer this, I'd appreciate it. Thanks VJ.

    • @VJFranzK
      @VJFranzK  Před 4 lety

      Franz is my name. ; - ) You could do like this: record your loops "dry", but turn up the Reverb Amount of the Memory, ( which is at 20% by default) that should get less abrupt trail off. Also could use Delay etc. as a master effect

    • @natancopeincraft
      @natancopeincraft Před 4 lety

      @@VJFranzK Thanks, but what I meant is when you stop a track or stop all of the tracks at one time, there is no reverb or delay tail at all. It just cuts the entirety of the sound off completely...like when I stop my jd xi synth, it at least keeps playing the drums reverb and tail end of the sounds. This is one thing that is really bothering me about the rc 505, even though I really like it. Even if I put those tracks into a daw, they are still going to cut off abruptly, because the reverb and delay tails always flow into the beginning of a loop, so, is there any way around that? It's like once it's recorded, it's recorded, it's almost like I would have to play it live in order for it to play the tail end, or to flow into the beginning of a loop? I guess I will just have to overdub the sounds into the beginning of the loop, which does not sound right when I start the loop to begin with. This is my one big gripe.

    this is probably a really dumb question, but how do you play this live without the metronome coming through? i'm playing live on a mixer, with an audio interface, and everything i hear in my monitors, the audience will hear. it appears that if i can hear the metronome so can they - so i'd like to try to figure out if there's anyway to mute the metronome, or if it's intended to somehow route to the monitors while being bypassed in the main ouput or something? or if there's some secret way to get the metronome in my headphone monitors without the audience hearing it (ideal). Thanks so much for the vid!

      Under the "edit" button for the rhythm tracks, you can use the right arrow button to get to the "line out" screen, which will be toggled to "on" in your case, if you toggle it to "off" then the sound of the rhythm track will only send to your headphone monitors, which is what you want. that glitchy tempo problem shouldn't really be a thing. Im just learning my 505, but to my knowledge the 505 can also be used for recording, if thats true, it is just a matter of turning your sample rate up. Normally 44.1 would sound fine, but if you massively slow the tempo, you're bound to get choppy. Depends what your cpu can handle i suppose

    • @VJFranzK
