- Battle for herd dominance between two cape buffalo in the Aberdare Forest on February 5, 2010. The music is "Elite Guard Attacks" by Basil Poledouris from the Conan the Destroyer soundtrack.
They fought for about 15 minutes and this is a slimmed down version of that fight. Either animal could have ended this at any time but they were duking it out for dominance of their herd and neither one would back down.

When that horn broke I winced! Unlike antlers there are blood vessels and nerve endings in the bottom center of a horn. OW!! But he won in the end which surprised me.

No contest, the bison is a much smaller animal.
+Walter Strong American Bison actually outweigh African Cape Buffalo and stand taller. If these two were to go to battle i would favor the Buffalo over the Bison due to it's aggressive nature. The Asian Water Buffalo on the other hand is the complete opposite and can be domesticated.

Okay, after a bit of research I think I can sort of piece together what happened here. Judging by the comments, which there are very few of, it seems that at some point for whatever reason, this video could have been mass-recommended to children/infants. I’m not sure when the views on this video started to spike, but it would match the comments on this video from the past year (many being gibberish). Plus, it would explain why there are so few comments, with many children not knowing how to. Not only that, but it also seems to have been recommended to viewers of different languages, despite the title being in English. The like-dislike ratio I can’t really explain however. Maybe the OP deleted any hate comments?
One theory i have is that this is widely used by a lot of schools to show buffalos fighting. Kinda like how many elementary level math videos such as those by mathantics have so many views

Fantastic. What luck. Thanks for sharing & posting, even if I hated the music. As to the Horns question - they have Horns, not Antlers, so they grow one set. They enlarge almost throughout a Bulls life, but when damaged/broken, they stay that way - they do NOT repair. Bulls with damaged, weak, or only single-side horns are less able to defend themselves against predators (so get eaten earlier than others & removed from the Gene Pool). They loose these battles too, so breed less frequently.

I don't know how it is in your country, but in many countries, several people from one village bring a bull and the winner is the mating bull for all the village cows during a year. The breed needs to be strong and big, and that's the way they do it. Search for "chegas de bois", to see one of those breeds, that's why they are big and powerful today.
Dang, losing that horn must've hurt a crap ton after. Probably only enraged him in battle, though, he took that win like a boss.

No comparison between a belgian blue and a bull selected by fighting, a belgian blue might have lots of meat but walks almost limping, this other bulls are big and meaty, but agile and smart. Many of this breeds standards require for them to be grazing animals, and they are left in the field to graze and defend themselves. No comparison possible, fighting bulls breeds also must live out of stables.
