I've always wanted to be a wizard so badly that I've tried my best to surround myself with it. Ranging from Harry Potter, Magic, D&D, wizardy, magical systems in video games... all of it was real to me. Do you really want to be a wizard though?

11:10 I absolutely agree with JoCat on the whole bit of loving flavor text for spells, perhaps my favorite is when my friend reflavored his fireball spell to be a jack-o-lantern that gets flung around and explodes (kinda like a fantasy Green Goblin)
So my dnd charecter is a wizard changeling and I’m considering making partly a sociopath besides his unic interests. Like he would save a frog over a party member, but besides that I was considering having him change his looks through out the campaign, he currently has a mossy green huge wizard hat and a emerald green robe with big brown leather boots. His face is also shadowed with bright glowing eyes

FUN FACT:
The flying on broomsticks trope comes from old times when "witches" would put I believe was what they called "dragons breath" on the ends of the sticks and uhhhhh
put them in places too where it felt like they where flying

The first time I took the test I got Hufflepuff but the second time I got RavenClaw. I believe I am a RavenClaw because I would want to explore the castle. Like I would want to know EVERYTHING about wizardry, like if the Harry and his friends explored the castle and got to know everything about it their challenges would be so easy.

I'm so into learning the reasons behind people's avatars and this was just [chef's kiss] _so good._ Love the depth it brings to your character.

I have never played D&D, BUT NOW I HAVE TO GIVE IT A TRY! I don't really like a full wizard, but I once invented a blood mage that uses blood and it's properties to fight (like turning the iron in blood into an armor or weapons). It also had an attack called "Red River", that just burns his blood, his veins glow alongside with his eyes and his veins come out as they throw fire like those things that spit flames in the cars and the guy just starts spiting red fire for a long moment.
There is a class in d&d called the Blood Hunter, it uses there blood to power up there weapons and curse people (one of the curse you can use to connect yourself to the enemy like if you are damaged they also take damage) they cannot cast spell but it is still really good
Maaz if you haven't already watched The Owl House, I can not recommend it enough
It is a super fun show, with a really cool and creative magic system and AMaazing characters

When Maaz mentioned the “magic hand” I imagined he was talking about Bigby’s Hand. Likewise, I cringed a bit when he said a nat 20 does the perfect version of what you want, and that he used the Mage Hand to attack 😅

In reference to 11:10, my ranger in my current campaign is a Samurai inspired character. All his spells are casted with "calligraphy" as in he draws the symbols in the air with his finger

I love these videos and harry potter and just animations in general and so when i saw you had combined magic and animations i was very happy
Dude, I love spellcasters. When I was younger, I used to love just being a blaster battle mage. But now, I lean towards more utility and crowd control. Blowing people up is fun sure, but I like having magic that gives me fun out-of-the-box solutions to problems. I also really like summoners.
In D&D, Wizard is my favortie class, but I really like Druids and Artificers as well. Sort of the opposite, but I like the idea of being one with nature so much that nature is at your command. As for Artificers, magical inventions are cool and more fantasy settings need them. Also, you can be fantasy Iron Man.

11:19 As a DM, I ABSOLUTELY love it when players flavor aspects of spells and things in general to their character. To me, it gives me a feeling of the player taking the time to actually THINK about things other than meta-gaming. Then again, I'm a role-playing and character interaction over murderhobo'inh for levels kind of DM.

I am trying to do a wizard in dnd, and my sister, who is an amazing artist drew my character with smoke around the character, which symbolizes mage armor. Basically it forms a solid object upon touching it and that’s my armor. I love it!

Hey, Maaz, I love how relatable all of this is. Being the kind of kid that loves to go to school cuz you get to learn interesting things and the only thing I want is to learn MORE, that's exactly what I'd want to do with magic.
It's actually the main thing that I write too (I'm sort of a writer, btw, all my worlds are magical or have some kind of magical explanation). But mixing magic with the need to know why things happen and how, that takes the cake. Literally, every time I come across a new magic system I try to learn as much of it as I can and relate it to the natural order of things (cuz often magic comes from nature) and start squeezing my brain thinking of how I can get exactly what I want with exploding the smallest details about the logic in that world and make a whole logical explanation as to how something is possible and then create new techniques and creatures based on that logic, making their origins and powers awesome but not out of the blue, making actual sense. That's the most satisfaction I can get in a magical world (and why I don't like certain stupid series that are supposed to be just dumb fun, but I can't enjoy it cuz there's no logic or mind blowing system to take as knowledge).
I just wish I actually started playing games like DND with friends or online to get the feeling like I'm actually there, but I always get sucked back into writing, so no surprises there. I prefer to be the DM giving the story the rules and direction so that is the best possible. Altho I don't know how to play DnD and I don't know the rules, so...

There is a great book about a magic world where the main character tattoos the symbols of spells on to his finger tips so he can cast them without wasting time
I’m actually playing a halfling wizard now in my first full campaign who values knowledge over most anything else.
One of the best parts about dnd is the texture and re-flavoring when it comes to different things. My all-time favorite campaign is this campaign called one piece dnd. We’re it still Dnd but everything is change to match the world of one piece it’s honestly incredible
