The equipment I use:
Drums: The drum kit I am playing here on this video is a Mapex Orion. Its a 6 piece drum kit. Tom sizes 10, 12, 14 and 16.
Cymbals: The cymbals are all Zildjian: A series...
Moongel: I am a fan of moongel on all the drums. It dampens the sound and makes it more punchy... If you have a problem with overtones, definitely give it a try...
Microphones: I use Audix microphones
Bass Drum Pedal: The pedal used here is an Axis longboard.
Recording Software: Cubase
Video Editing Software: Sony Vegas
Digital Interface: Tascam 1800
Drum Sticks: Pro Mark 5A Nylon Tip
Camera:1 x Iphone 6 plus 2 x Sony HandyCam - Hudba

Great video! Thank you for the helpful tips. I am a beginner and this song definitely forces me to change some habits such as playing the hi hat with the left hand and hitting the tom and not the snare on beat #4.

There is a recent article on the song in the Wall Street Journal with barely a mention of this amazing drum pattern. I knew it was complex, but I had no idea until I watched your great lesson. Thanks! And to hell with the four wankers who didn't appreciate your hard work. Bravo to you! I am 68 years old and this will be a great workout to keep my brain and hands sharp if my brain doesn't explode halfway through. Cheers!

Thank you so much for this lesson. I think i really got the parts down now. My Drum teacher is awesome, but in our course we just scratch on the surface of this groove and other "famous grooves". thats what its called in the course. we do it just superficial. here i learned more. I also liked your approach of dividing the parts to learn for the left hand and right hand indepentently. its a cool groove, tricky and not easy to learn, but if you do, its a lot of fun to play and i feel my drumming got better as a whole, just because of that one.
