I had intercourse a few hours before ovulation and I know this because I had pain like cramping but I didn't have intercourse after that so I hope I still get pregnant
I started taking ovulation test yesterday and I got a strong positive, I had sex 2 days before which Means I started ovulating a day before yesterday, but today I tested and got a negative, is there a possibility of me getting pregnant I'm curious I'm really trying for a baby
Hi Juliette, any tips on ttc whilst breastfeeding a toddler (irregular periods and two lh surges) and waking up through the night (so temping may not be accurate)? Thank you
Hi Gabby, without knowing more about your breastfeeding and menstrual cycle history it's difficult for me to answer your question responsibly here. But in general, sometimes breastfeeding can continue to impact ovulation until weaning. Even if ovulation occurs, it can result in a luteal phase defect (inadequate progesterone) which usually prevents implantation. Feel free to book a mini-consultation to discuss this further if it suits (link below the video). Hope this helps :)
Although this is great advice for some people, unfortunately this calculation will be inaccurate for many others, because the luteal phase of the cycle isn't 14 days for everyone. Not only this, but the day of ovulation can also change from cycle to cycle. I'm going to do a video on this soon, with a calculation that will work for most people, so keep an eye out! :)
Hello! Before watching this video, I tried to get pregnant with baby #2, and at the time I thought getting a positive ovulation test meant I was ovulating and that when I was ovulating was the best time to have sex. But I ended up getting a negative test. We only had sex on the day of the positive ovulation test, the day after, and 2 days later. I did not follow my fertility tracking app and have sex on the days it told me I was most fertile. By what I think you’re saying in the video, it may be possible that I got the positive ovulation test as I was already ovulating, or after I had already ovulated? Or maybe I wouldn’t ovulate for 5 days after my test and the sperm could have already died by then? Just hoping there is no infertility going on, though I only got my period back in April and am still breastfeeding so I know hormones take time to balance out too.
Yes exactly. Ovulation usually occurs within the 1 to 2 days after the first positive OPK. But it's also possible to ovulate (or have just ovulated) the same day as the first positive OPK or up to 5 days later. The best way to pinpoint the day you're ovulating is by charting your fertility (most fertility apps are notoriously unreliable too!). Fertility charting will also help to identify if breastfeeding is still affecting your cycles. My Fast Track to Pregnancy Program can help you with this. Even if you have perfect fertility, it can still take several months to conceive. Check out the following video for more on this :) czcams.com/video/BJYh2uEL02U/video.html
How do I know when to have intercourse few days before ovulation day? Only time I know if I maybe ovulating is by using the LH surge kit and when it say LH is high I end up having sex same day, but I wouldn't know when to have sex before a high LH surge is going to happen either until I test for LH surge.
It all comes down to understanding your cervical fluid! In my Fast Track to Pregnancy Program I explain, step by step, how to observe, record and interpret your cervical fluid. This allows you to identify your MOST fertile days each cycle and exactly when to have intercourse to maximise your chances of conception (link to the program is in the description under the video). Alternatively, please feel free to book a consultation so that we can work together on this.
The days that you see your ewcm are your fertile days. I discuss this in detail (and how to find your PEAK fertile day) in my Fast Track to Pregnancy Program - link under the video. Best of luck!
So It’s more likely you will conceive 3-2 days before ovulation when you have the most fertile cm? As I’ve been BD on both my peak days for 5 months and no pregnancy 😢 so CM means fertile means BD got it
Correct. The 2 - 3 days before ovulation day are usually the most fertile. And this is usually the time that you'll produce your most fertile CM. Waiting for a positive OPK before BDing can still result in pregnancy, but in some couples this will significantly lower the chances. Wishing you the best of luck for the next few months!
@@focusonfertility thank you! I have been ttc for 6 months and I’ve been only baby dancing on those 2 peak days 😭 as that’s what clear blue has been telling me! Also it’s hard to cover the whole 5 days as OH works away a lot But would we have a higher chance even at if atleast it’s on a day 2-3 days before ovulation with fertile cm! As we’ve had no luck with doing it on only peak days
@@jessicarussell7934 yes, that would give you a very good chance. And as long as you're intimate while you're producing fertile CM, having intercourse even just once is often all it takes! I recommend using BBT (basal body temperature) also, to confirm if and when you ovulated. Best of luck!
Hi, august was my 2nd month taking progesterone (5mg). I ovulated on day 18 by testing at home and went to the clinic for blood work. The results were value of 1.3 ng/mL. What are your thoughts?
A result of 1.3 ng/ml doesn't show ovulation. But this is to be expected because (if I understand you correctly) you've had your progesterone tested on the presumed day of ovulation. This is about a week too early. Check out this video for more: czcams.com/video/sbG2sG6Zr-0/video.html Also, please discuss the timing of your progesterone supplementation with your doctor. Progesterone is normally taken AFTER ovulation, otherwise it can interfere with ovulation.
@@mj716008 Ah, that makes more sense - great! If you definitely ovulated on Day 18 (remember that OPKs can be deceptive) then Day 21 will still be too early. Day 24 is likely to be better. But check out the video I linked to earlier for more information on this.
@@focusonfertility wow I just saw the video. It’s funny because I didn’t ovulate on day 14, I ovulated on day 18. Since I already took my blood work for progesterone, is there a way I can find out I ovulated and it worked? Asides from the body temperature? Is there one you recommend?
@@mj716008 yes there is something you can try but please email me at support@myfertilityfocus.com about this so that I can explain in a bit more detail.
Absolutely! So long as you have intercourse during the 5 days beforehand (ideally the 2 - 3 days beforehand) or on Day 10 itself then yes, you can definitely conceive.

Subtract 14 from the day your period starts..if it comes on the 17 subtract 14 and you will likely ovulate the 3rd of the following month
