- THIS IS THE LAST PART IN THIS SERIES. WE GET THE WHEELS BACK FROM SAND BLAST AND PAINT AS WELL AS THE 6 NEW TIRES. ONCE THOSE ARE MOUNTED, I GET STARTED ON THE HITCH. IT SURE TOOK ME LONGER THAN I HAD HOPED TO BUILD THIS.....I'M NOT A WELDER! AND IT SHOWS IN THIS PROJECT. NON THE LESS, I GOT IT ALL FINISHED UP AND THINK IT WILL BE JUST FINE. HOPE YOU ENJOY!
It’s amazing how simple clean and nice the hitch is when no engineer is not involved 😀😀
I like how the design of the hitch and rear bumper all came together to give the truck a factory finished look. Your instincts were right on point.
You keep saying "I am not a welder" but I am telling you I have seen work done by "welders" that doesn't look as good as your work. Don't sell yourself short. You are a pretty damn good fabricator...
as you saw, i struggle at times. i will keep working to improve.
Compare to other welding works i've seen i think your work is better than their's.. Don't worry sir, a little more work and you'll be better.because of what i see on you is you keep on doing things the best on your knowledge and capability. Keep up the good attitude.
You should see his son's welds! They are just lovely, but welding is not his main focus. I hope he can always weld that well for his own projects. Of course you can guess who taught him! 8-))
his bird-poop, looks like million dollar bird-poop compared to mine :))
Few people would put that level of craftsmanship into a project that was just to help out a friend. First class.
i believe your quality of work should never change based on your "compensation". you either have standards or you dont... right?
@@j.c.smithprojects you are correct sir !!!
You remind me so much of my dad it's scary... I think you two would have gotten along just fantastic 🙂
not sure how to take that! i remember stories of you and your dad...
Yes Eric O watching along how awesome 👌
I have to say, for a guy that isn't a welder you are a heck of a welder! Your fabrication skills are real world also!
J.C. Stop it, you are a great welder. I've known a lot of them during my 75 trips around the sun and you do fine. Wonderful job on Justin's rig.
nah.....it is getting better but i still struggle.
As “welders “ , someone who can weld or, someone learning to weld… we are our own worst critics… you’re spot on J.C. Anyone that says they lay a perfect bead every time either isn’t being honest with you or themselves… it’s a constant journey
That hitch looks *fantastic* J.C! 😀 Nice and stout! Back on the road for him to use and not have to worry about. Great job with the repairs 🙂🔧
Between the sandblasted, primered , painted wheels with new tires and the fabrication of the new primered and painted hitch. You completely transformed the look of the ambulance. Nicely Done ✅ Sir.
You do awesome work JC.
May you and your wife have a Blessed One Sir.
it came out ok. after it was all done, i see things i would have done differently. hind sight is 20/20.
That trailer hitch and bumper turned out great. I think you’re a better welder than you think! 👍
Really enjoyed the series of videos , your work and welding are great . Truck turned out great . Awesome videos
I converted a class 5 ambulance into an RV, for toy hauling. Love it
Nice fabrication & welding. Better than a coach builder would have done. Full penetration continuous welds. I did heavy fabrication & welding for 3 years. Your craftsmanship Is impeccable. Thanks for showing. Have a good day
hitch came out very nice. should be stronger than what that truck could pull by a good margin and it looks good.
i think it will do just fine. he only plans to tow 7,000 to10,000 lbs,
Holy Moly J.C. that Ambu-Camper will now be able to double as a tank retriever with that hitch/bumper combo! I have seen class V hitches that have less attachment to the frame rails. Well done sir!
You say your not a welder but you weld better than most professional welder do!
For someone who is not a welder you did one hell of a job I think
That is one awesome, and expensive, trailer hitch. Nice job! 👍👍👍
I've told you before J.C. and I'll tell you again... for not being a welder you sure can stack those dimes pretty damn nice!!! Great job on the hitch it's super beefy, and I don't think he'll be disappointed at all. Wheels look nice as well. Really cleans up the look of it. 👍👍
i was very happy with how the wheels came out.
Looking good, there. Over-engineered is the way to go, with towing, IMO. Nice work.
If it’s worth buildin … it worth overbuildin…💪
Gotta love grandkids! Stuff they do always puts a smile on my face! Take care Mr and Mrs JC
Well, for someone who is "NOT a welder", you sure do a beautiful bead. Personally I find decent, quality welding looks like fine art, and your welding sir, is fine art. Love the fact you think everything out so much, and engineer it so stoutly. Be proud of your welding, and show it off, because its beautiful...and love seeing the heat penetration stains. not a welder..pfftttt!!
I feel like watching Jody(sp?) on weldingtipsandtricks for a half hour on YT, is going to ease those few apprehensions you have. Welding the back sides first, for practice helps me out too.
Keep up the good work!
Brett
That's perfectly done you said you're not a welder but to me you done a better job than some who calls themselves welders great job
That is a beautiful piece of work JC 👏 welding is top class no matter what you think. Thanks for sharing. Stay safe 🇬🇧
Hey JC for someone who not a welder you do a bloody good job stop punishing I love the way you are explaining I am glad that you came back to the Ambo you so Meticulous in what you do keep up the good work Cheers from Down Under ( Australia ) PS I do enjoy your work as I am retired and love hands and creative work
So much satisfaction watching a job done well.
Greetings from the Ohio Porters.🤩 Thanks for the good picture of the hitch. It sure got my attention and I had to pause from my schedule and watch this video. The Diamond is in the Details! 😎 Not overkill, well thought out and some preventative measures taken.🧐 I’m not sure how old this ambulance is, but that frame appears to be quite rusty for the age. I’m sure it has seen LOTS of road salt, etc though. I used the grease method as well. Learned that from someone many years ago. Some people say it’s crazy but it works and works well! 🤩 You do good stuff and I’m usually impressed and not shocked by your work. I think that the build is more than sufficient for anything he might pull. 🤩 Those wheels, and I’m not sure how bad they were before, sure make it STAND OUT and look sharp! It may not be a “Show Piece” but it is a reflection of you and your work! Now that’s putting a bit of yourself into the job! 🥰 Good stuff! I always learn, and sometimes relearn, something from you! THANKS! 😎 Stay safe!
You are too hard on yourself, Sir, the quality of your work is second to none, it’s. Delight to see the end Product. Greetings to Both You and Mrs JC From Cheshire.
Wow that back end looks awesome great job JC
You're a good man Mr Smith well done congratulations I think it's a great job.
Very nice project J.C. should make a nice race truck totter.
I am excited. And very impressed with the work💯. Forever and always grateful for the help
cant wait to see the old girl towing that truck of yours.
Thats the plan. Ill be out soon to get some trucks rolling for you
Those wheels really set it off!
You might not be a welder, but you sure can weld. Hitch looks great.
Good morning mr. Jc.. Just a little tip regarding the slack/wiggle on your milwaukee mag... Maybe you can put a thin tin spacer on the rail guide? Thin/thick enough to reduce/eliminate the slack.? I have tried it with the rail guide of my friend's router guide. And it worked good enough. I Hope you find this helpful.
Hey JC, enjoy you videos. You should try to weld those verts on the receiver up hill instead of running it down hand. You just don’t get enough penetration running a down hand. Vertical welds are where all your strength is.
i keep trying uphill. still struggling. i figure my downhill is better than my uphill right now.
Sweet job JC turned out nice and the welding looks great.
Another well built truck. Looks great and I’m sure Justin will love it.
Great finished project looks awesome thanks for sharing. Keep up the good work and stay safe out there.
nice to see someone with pride in there work
Details……love it! Nice work!
JC, I appreciate the time taken to do things to the very best your able to do. People see nice work and ask "Who did the work" and so your being hard on yourself as to the fine quality welds that are not only decent looking but will stand the pressure of time. People see bad work and will also ask who did it and then the bad remarks will travel around the world. Backwards I know. I passed the tests for welding for Todd Ship Yards IN Ketchikan Alaska. I don't think any of the welds I slash others as well did as good as your not being a welder. Fine job and your should be proud. I absolutely would be were it mine. Thank you again.. I watch a lot but hospitals leave me so tired that I just don't do many comments (books) anymore... please forgive me
i wish you well. sorry to hear the troubles.
from the Netherlands thanks for the video J.C.
Love your work keep safe to you and your family 😎👌👍👌Michael U.K.
12👍's up JC thanks again for taking us all along with you
Very much enjoyed the series!
Justin likes helping, so that is a huge plus!
Good job on the hitch/bumper build. Huge improvement!
Good video On Mounting a custom hitch for this 2000 International 4700 ambulance I enjoyed the video
Nice job. Quality product.
Well done J.C. Those welds look fantastic. Another project to check off the list👍
I got a sneak peak on that hitch and I have to say it turned out great.
I thoroughly enjoyed this video and you are a hell of a good weld and fab guy. Looking forward to the 4500 dump truck. I recently made a couple of comments warning Waldo about the potential of distortion if he galvanizes his bed. I wasn't critical, just informative and he deleted both of my comments. I saw your comments on his page and I assume that you might have some doubts as well? I told him that Kilar, which may be close to you, no longer galvanize their beds because of distortion, but he didn't want to hear it. It will be interesting to see how it plays out. It would be a shame if that beautiful bed he made gets damaged because of the extreme heat.
Looks good JC. Now make another video! Hello Mrs JC.
Mr JC I enjoyed the video. Thanks for sharing and stay safe.
Nicely done Job well done 👍
Great stuff JC!
Great job looks nice.
I think you’re a better welder than you think!
Great job JC that hitch will pull anything
Great job 🙂 Always a pleasure to watch someone who takes appropriate pride in their work and is determined to do the best job possible. Thank you, sir. Faith in human nature (fleetingly) restored 🤟🏼
Love the video . Keep up the great work
Good job JC.
Nice work as always.
U did a good job on that for him keep the good work up
You need to steady your hands against something, and kick all distractions out of your head and from your ears, and oscillate the stinger ,and trying to be evenly speed wire and stinger, Your welds are a lot better then a lot f people’s chickens scratches, look good to me , thanks BigAl, I would of left it , your welds are fine, you are a welder 👨🏭, , nice thanks BigAl California.
Roger! Really enjoyed this project, and looking forward to the next few project. A great big thanks.
Nice job. Only think i'd do different is have a 90° flange bent outward on the bottom of the rear brackets.
J.C. I can only wish that I could have you do the kind of work you do on my stuff.
You kill me with your criticism of your work when in actuality you do awesome work and should be proud.
It is with pride the work you do and professional at its best.
Thank You and really keep up the great work, both on your videos and you work...
That turned out really good! He needs a step back there that goes in the receiver that he can mount a generator on one side and a cooler on the other with a step in the middle.
absolutely awesome!!!! I have a new hobby watching this!!!! Love this stuff!!! to heck with my world,,, you hiring??? lol Id buy those welds btw,,, better than I could do
i may not be the best at what i do but i will always give what i do my best. i am continually impressed by with your work and your unwillingness to sway from your standard. dont you find it frustrating when people want you to do work to their truck because of the time, effort and the attention to details we show in videos but then question the cost and if it is "really" necessary? (justin was not like this. everything i suggested, he said "if you think it needs it, then go ahead.")
wow those cap welds were great. Had to edit - the other welds were great too. Good clean design.
Grinder and paint makes me the welder I ain't😎
ahh, after seeing the license plate under the ambo. I looked at "about" and seen Atwater, Ohio. I'm a neighbor from the west not far from the I-77 and SR-224 blender.
I though the amount and look of the rust looked familiar (lol)
I would feel bad for any car that rear ends that hitch. Turned out real nice good job. Thank you for taking us along the journey with you
I usually put the ICP sensor on when I do the injector high pressure oil rail o-rings. Awesome job JC!!!!
J.C. , you did a really nice job, Jason is a lucky person knowing you and having you work on his ambulance! Hearing you talk about getting overspray on stuff, I used rust oleum and sprayed the entire frame and underbody of my 06 F250. I used black paint, should have seen my face and hair, had to pretty much take a bath in paint remover, my white beard was no longer white when I got done painting, good thing my hair was super short. I’ll email you a picture for laughs!
i was the same way. face, beard and hair was all black....i was 20 years younger for a minute! the
@@j.c.smithprojects Yeah, The Just For Men hair products had nothing on me by the time I was done painting!
@@j.c.smithprojects you all are too polite! Gotta mention the black buggers.
That reminds me,,, if you weld enough to have black buggers, you are a welder !!!! (Actually the person, is spelled, WELDOR. The machine is a welder).
As long as I get paid, I don't care how it is spelled.
Great job.
Always enjoy watching you
It tuned out fantastic, those white wheel really set it off.
Justin should be happy with the work you have done, you have improved the breaks to shocks to wheel's all he needs now is a great colour system.
Another great job bud
Awesome job jc , that hitch should last a life time.
Everything looks great on the ambulance, nice work.
Superb job as usual JC!👍
Looks real nice
Great job
Too bad the ambience wasn’t made this good
It’s sad things are made just good enough
I would hate to see a brand new ambulance
Your second weld looks good
Rust-Oleum farm and fleet semi gloss black is 4.30 a can by the case at home Depot online,. It's a acrilic enamel with a rust inhibitor.. I like it on frames..
sorry to ask here, but I hope the creator sees this, but what ever happened to the truck you where building for your friend? unless I am blind as a bat, I can't find anything on the completed budget rolloff truck
its on hold because of some changes that he wants to make.
That bumper turned out really nice.
Looking good, nice work
Enjoy the excellent complete work no shody work here
Looks good! Hopefully Justin can send us a pic of this rig towing!
Nice job
Good job! Keep believing in your giftings.
You say your not a welder but I think you do dam nice work!👌
That’s the first time I’ve seen white paint that color, hm, I will be if I ever get a rusted framed truck as bad as this one use grease in between the inter and outer frame, nice I’m not color blind, that’s a nice white paint, as you said , you painted the inside, this is a nice strong small trailer hitch, 10,000, , I need a 20,000 plus hitch for moving those 12000, pounds tongue weight modular mobile homes, nice thanks BigAl California.
U done a sweet job on that and u are a dam good welder I wish I could do that I've been welding some but not that good yet but I'm going to keep on doing that and I'll get to be that good welding like all the videos u do and I'll keep on watching them and u keep on putting them out nice job on all the work u done there
nice job you are a pro
Looks great JC!
It does look good
Watching videos does not tell the whole story on how many hours you have put into this overhaul. Any idea on hours spent on rig?
no idea. probably dont want to try and figure it out either.
