The terrarium is so pretty, I was afraid the pinecones wood be to big but they are perfect. It looks like a dab of the forest in your house.

The Maidenhair Fern is my absolute favorite fern. They are so delicate. But, I have the same problem you do. They do not last very long around me with the humidity and all. I will have to try the terrarium and see how that will work, at least I know it will not dry out it will probably drown. Great video, thanks.

You should get a gardenia and put it in your greenhouse or somewhere warm. The smell is just the best thing

Another super creative project of yours that came out awesome! My husband surprised me with Philly Flower show tickets for 3/9. I saw in your one video you guys will be there before then, but I will still be rocking my Garden Answer tee! You have inspired me so much this last year and have helped my garden become something amazing! Thank you :) :)

This was helpful and really timely. Yesterday I put together a “fake” terrarium or one without a cover, which still adds some humidity for my fern. I will post a picture and tag you. It’s not as thorough as what you’ve done but it’s still fun. Thank you for this video.

Hi, love your vids! I've been experimenting with enclosed, humid terrariums for the past several years, and perhaps you may find this suggestion helpful. I've stopped using the "preserved" moss (the dyed stuff from craft stores) because it's not actually living anymore. This causes it to mold and it spreads to the other plants. I highly recommend using "mood moss" instead. You can find it at places like floral shops and specialty garden centers. It is actually living, and when you buy it it's in a dormant state, but once you water it pops back to life really quickly. Plus, it grows along with your other plants. However, I wouldn't recommend for succulent terrariums, as it will turn yellow after a while if not in a humid environment. Best of luck!!

It would be fun if you would film a video following Russell around your garden. Show him enjoying the garden. At least a segment of one of videos with your "wild life" in the garden (you know, the cats and Ben.) 😉 I know this channel is about gardening, but gardens are to enjoy and seeing them enjoy what y'all are creating shows the reason for it. Not just for looks.

I LOVE a fern terrarium! Another thing I’ve found to help individual plants is picking up a simple bowl- or vase-shaped glass vessel (readily found at thrift stores and antique shops) and inverting it over/resting it on top of a potted plant. My maidenhair fern is doing really well this way. And with the whole thing placed inside a footed planter it looks like a fern in a bubblegum dispenser...cuter than it sounds 😉 I also found a huge hurricane-style glass that I placed over a tall fern. It can be a more affordable option, especially for a single, more established plant. But I’m working on terrariums too! Anything to make these beauties survive indoors 🤞

Love the concept! If I put one of these together, I'd purchase "pixie/fairy" size plants so that i could, hopefully, enjoy the end product for a longer period of time. Most ferns will outgrow even the largest terrarium cloches very quickly if the humidity is right! Russell just had to make sure that everything on the table was fine. He IS your "watch kitty" after all! Thanks for sharing! ALWAYS plant love! 🌾💜

Hi, I have a shub-like Chinese Evergreen and I think I'm killing it. When I bought it, earlier this month, it was realy pink and healthy; but now it is pale and seethrow in spots. We are in winter right now, and the snowy conditions cause water to freeze on the inside of the windows, and I don't want to get a growth light for it. Do you think a terrarium would help it, and how would you put it together?
I hope you can help me, I really love my succulent plants.

I think your sun porch is just perfect for filming videos this time of year when it's a bit cold or windy outside. It's really nice in there! Great lighting. How are you going to water the terrarium? Will you have to lift off the lid or just tip it up or use the holes in the glass?
