Hello nice to tag along where families lived in a mining camp .Makes one wonder why they built in low lying area .Or did the stream change thank you for the explore ⛏️🤔

My thoughts exactly. The canyon seems pretty steep, indicating that there isn't a lot of area for building, but where they built the houses seems kind of odd, being that it's in such a flood-prone area.

Thanks! Yeah, this mining community in Northern Nevada, so they get heavy snow in the winter. Unfortunately, that means the places don't stand up as well.

That's a great question. I didn't see any waste rock in the surrounding mountains which conludes that if it wasn't placer mining, the mines were elsewhere.
