      There has definitely been a ton of growth here in 20 years! The City of Clovis has park and walking trail requirements for new developments, so we should see more of them as new communities become available.

      @@jdos5643 I think a lot of people who live in Fresno and the San Joaquin Valley in general don't appreciate what they have. If you look into the history of the city and how it's changed over time and really get to know the reason why people moved to the area in the first place and what makes it special I think you start to look at the area in a different way.

  • @deejay4416
    @deejay4416 Před 2 lety +6

    The difference between the people in Fresno and Clovis is that the people of Fresno know and admit that Fresno is a completely terrible place to live AKA "a complete dump". As a person that currently lives in Clovis, CA due to my career (I know I won't stay here for more than 5 years) and have gotten to know the rich, powerful, criminal, and poorest of the poor in Central Valley California. The people of Clovis think of themselves as better than everyone, superior (yep, the whites of Clovis play a huge part of conveying that attitude), and believe there are no problems in Clovis. However, I put it on my life that there are major major problems in Clovis and the city is highly OVERRATED and pretends no problems exist and won't hesitate to lie about it. The Clovis school system hides the problems (and does a good job doing it) students face. I would never raise a family and live in Clovis if I didn't have to (I'm only here for my career and will leave when time is right). The worst city I have ever lived in has been Clovis because of the disgusting attitude of thinking everyone is beneath them (again, whites of Clovis perpetuate this belief and attitude). Do not live in Clovis and certainly don't visit it (especially if you're non white) if you don't have to. Anyone thinking this video believes it portrays Clovis accurately must truly be a fool. No city in Central Valley California is a good place to live and raise a family.

    • @DanielHerrera-rl1vw
      @DanielHerrera-rl1vw Před rokem +2

      The Central Valley is huge and includes other areas like Sacramento, Redding and Bakersfield along with Fresno - Clovis is at the eastern edge of the San Joaquin valley at the base of the Sierra Nevada foothills it reminds me a lot of Folsom in the Sacramento area minus the lake.

    • @deejay4416
      @deejay4416 Před rokem +1

      @@DanielHerrera-rl1vw you're right. Central Valley California is huge. As for the other areas you mentioned. Bakersfield...forget it! Worst polluted air in the valley and probably one of worst in nation. Sacramento...nicer than Fresno, but crime, homeless, and many other things have made it lost luster than prior years. Redding...most people would not go there either for many reasons. Again, Central Valley California is a pretty bad place and I honestly don't see it getting better considering current political majority that are in power and where they stand on issues.

      @@RamsLakersDodgers no I didn't live in a complete dump part of town. I no longer live in Central Valley California now. I got to know the who's who in that area and learned many life lessons. Believe it or not, Fresno and Clovis grew on me and I do actually miss the area. I'll never forget it.

  • @Oscar-jp5rw
    @Oscar-jp5rw Před 2 lety +16

    Don't forget, Clovis is definitely not for people of color. If you're any shade of brown/black, you won't be welcomed. I'm an educator and people trust me with their children but God forbid I jog in my own neighborhood. I've had the police called on me more times than I can count for jogging while Mexican in a 98% white community. Old Town is great until you start to notice the confederate flags, kkk memorabilia, and racist figurines being sold at the various antique stores.

      @@yubanihernandezmiranda9252 more than half the population hear is non white and I hear Spanish spoken in almost every place I go to. I went to Big Lots yesterday in Clovis and the shoppers were 95% non white, so I wouldn't let that deter you. The most discouraging thing is how expensive it's getting to live here, but that's just Ca as a whole.

      @Anthony Bishop either you're someone else pretending to be a minority or you're telling the truth of your experience but if you are who you say you are then you're a complete fool or lying to yourself. Clovis does not like anything that doesn't fit in their white American category. Period. I know this from the time I've first arrived in Clovis, but thankfully I'm leaving in less than a year. See my comment I wrote about this video. Have a good day.

      Old Town Clovis is racist just by experience because I saw first hand from my brother and me getting kick out of a restaurant. Just one time that happened since then nothing happened to me. Cops mistake me as a gang member but it's their job to protect you know but did I felt misjudged? Absolutely 💯

      @@CGRuthlessSports I'm sorry to hear that. I know you're telling the truth because your comment is something similar I have heard before (in person). I truly despise the people of Clovis, CA. Oh well, I do believe in Karma and expect more of it to impact Clovis. They can no longer afford the belief their small town is perfect no matter how they want try to hide their problems.
