    By the way, I am soooooo grateful you made this video it's very difficult to get in and you making this video is just amazing since I'm also focussing on mechanical engineering.😊

    100% right about knowing where you're going. If I hadn't attended an open day I would have panicked trying to get around the University I'm attending and the stress would have ruined my interview. Great video 👍, very funny and useful.

    For the physics question the trick is in inclinig the book to a certain angle where the object is going to fall down and that is the trick in this question

    Hi thanks for your detailed sharing! I wonder if there's any Imperial-specific question in the interview? Like why you choose to go there etc. I would really appreciate your answer!

    • @Oxcentric
      @Oxcentric  Před 3 lety +2

      Hi Claire, I don't think there was any questions about why I wanted to study at Imperial in my interview. However, "why do you want to study here?" is a relatively common introductory interview question and one I'd imagine Imperial could possibly use, so it's worth having a think about if you do have an interview there.

    Hi! I will have an online interview for the master's in fluid mechanics at Imperial College. They say that will assess maths and basic mechanics concepts. Do you know what topics would be assessed for the master degree? Thanks for your answer

    Thanks for making this video! Do u think it is necessary to send a follow-up email to the interviewers, mainly expressing gratitude and explaining why I failed to answer some of the questions?

    Does every applicant get an interview or is it chosen randomly?

    • @Oxcentric
      @Oxcentric  Před 4 lety +7

      Which candidates get an interview will be chosen depending on the strength of your application (grades, personal statement, etc.), so not everyone gets one. Most of those invited to interview will receive an offer, however the interview aims to verify student's interests and see how they would perform at Imperial.

    I have a question. I recently got my predicted grades (A*AA). Imperial doesn’t do BEng Chemical Engineering anymore and MEng requires A*A*A. I’m wondering if I should still go for it or apply for a different course.

      First of all please email them and ask about this particularly. Who knows,they might be very informal and straightforward with you and advise you not to apply as you might get rejected right away without interview and waste one place for university applications. Or, they might tell you that they will still consider your application if other parts of it are found to be competent.

    • @saimaalam3594
      @saimaalam3594 Před 3 lety +1

      @@sakshamkapoor697 I’ve checked their website and it says that they go through applications of students who have a minimum of AAA (reject below that) and that they give offers of at least A*AA. I’ve emailed them but due to Covid they might not respond to it or do it late. So I don’t really know what to do.

    Hey there. I’ve just started year 12 I’m currently doing 4 A Levels which I enjoy however I’m worried I’m putting myself at a disadvantage if I’m not doing Further Maths? How important do you reckon is the subject when deciding between applicants?

    • @two697
      @two697 Před 2 lety +2

      If your applying to a subject like maths/physics/Engineering/computer science at a Russel group, further maths is recommended so it may put you at a disadvantage
