  • How Beginners Can Pick the Right Category of Mutual Funds? | MF Ki Baat with Ashish Naik
One of the most important things for building wealth is spending time in the market. However, you can redeem your equity funds now when the markets are high if you need the money urgently. You could hold 15%-20% of your portfolio in small cap funds as part of the satellite portfolio and large cap funds in the core portfolio. If your investment is for the short term (less than 2 years) look at debt funds; for an investment horizon between 2 to 5 years look at hybrid funds and for investment horizons greater than 5 years look at equity funds. Solution-oriented funds are targeted towards a particular group of investors who invest for their children's higher education, marriage or retirement. Do not trust mutual fund ratings alone when investing in mutual funds.
