Would have been nice if she mentioned the writer of this song: John Trudell, lakota poet, activist and musician ! See the woman ! You should hear his version, so much better and more powerful.
Considering this woman made stuff like idjagiedas, this new album is deep below her abilities. for me its not question of mari boine as a woman vs magical and mystical singer as she described it, but more that this album is musically just not interesting, slipping to basic pop structures and boring sounds, filling the void with just an echo put on her voice. Even singing in english is not an issue for me, for example "big medicine" has the same magic as the rest of her older stuff.
