Briefly ignoring the fact Shirou used Nine Lives _on a fucking Spider,_ I don't feel super great about the animation. It just feels...clunky, sluggish, and way too slow for how Nine Lives was actually done in the VN. I would've done it like this: Shirou dashes towards enemy, -maybe a bit of dialogue saying, "Targets- Confirmed!" Or y'know, somethin' like that. (Shirou has a bit of monologue as he aims his strikes, almost as if he's lining up a shot)- Shirou prepares to slash the enemy, reeling back for a second. Then, he swings, but as he does, nine slash effects appear on the enemy instead of just one, and maybe Shirou just becomes a blur for a second. Maybe the axe-sword breaks too, showing Shirou isn't perfect with his projections.
Actually Nine lives blade works is one of the few perfect projections shirou has made, to be fair in HF(spoilers for those who haven't watched it yet) he was using archers arm for it but it was still perfect as he when he used it, he went through all of herc life experiences to properly project it
it's a 2005 game that was 100% fan made, you can't compare that to a fully commercialized game done by studios with the backing of MILLIONS of dollars 😂

Maybe it was a nod to Fate/hollow ataraxia because in it, Avenger pretty much possessed Shirou.
