@@HeiferUSA Can you kindly share how I can reach to Joe I really wish to visit his farm one day?
@@HeiferUSArrr rrrrrsrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrsrrrdrrr
@@HeiferUSA It's nice to know he's not far from Indiana
where I can order some processed chicken from him
being I seen how he raises them & what they are fed.
Great video
I remember my late history professor told us that only farmers are truly free.
They hardest workers always work on a farm and cant vacation because your animals need constant care.
I am also going to start, everyone pray for me.
We're rooting for you! Be sure to check out all the free farmer training videos on our channel, and subscribe while you're here!
Us also, our first year. I'm not sure how to start. We have a coop, and that's it
Thank all you farmers for feeding us. God bless you all.
Thank you for your support!
Washing all those eggs is hard work
Chicken barn looks like 🎉quonson hut , like what the military uses
It's awesome to see young people take an interest in farming.
Thank you! We need more young people to get into farming!
My wife and I just started our laying hen operation. It was great to see Joes operations. We’ll have 2,000 hens by the spring of 2023 and appreciate the ability to learn from people that have been succeeding with chickens on a larger scale
That is awesome!
Well don't be stingy post videos!! :)
Best wishes for your business
Grew up on a dairy farm...farmers work is never done.. Love this video💖
I grew up on a dairy as well
Joe is very impressive for what he has managed to do but even more impressive is the guy that encouraged him and told him he could do it.
We love hearing stories of farmers teaching and helping each other. Hopefully our videos here on CZcams will educate and inspire the next generation of farmers!
Love seeing the young folks stepping into farming!
Thank you! We need more young people to get into farming!
This is a great video. I recently bought 18 laying hens, new to this. I had sold 8 of them and now have 10. I wish I could have kept them all but im not supposed to have any. lol. I'll be doing some gardening as well, eventually processing my own veggie garden and canning, etc. thanks for this content.
Awesome!
Thank you! When I started we also were not supposed to have them in the town we lived lol!
I think Joe is a great entrepreneur and has a great place.
You're exactly right! Joe has built an amazing business. We're so thankful he took the time to share some of his secrets with our audience!
Thank you!
This was awesome. We are considering buying a 35 acre property right now, and are planning on chickens, and potentially turkeys. I have completely changed my original plan based on this video tour. The mobile coops are a game changer. It fits in really well with the permaculture ideas I have for the property.
Wow. That’s a lot of organization/ infrastructure shown. But the best resource is their dedication to their farm and livestock.
That dedication, along with years of hard work and planning, is what has allowed Joe's Farm to expand and establish such impressive infrastructure. This amazing farm tour was ten years in the making!
Thank you
Absolutely wonderful seeing a farmer (Joe) raising health food.
Joe's operation is truly inspiring! Thanks for watching :)
@@HeiferUSA - Watched a few video from Heifer USA also very inspiring and nice to see healthy food entering the food chain.
I love to see young people working smart
Thank you! We need more young people to get into farming!
I was so happy this video was recommended in my feed! Was excited to watch! My (ex) husband was the man that opened (for the Japanese), a laying hen farm in Broadway, NJ called “ISE FARMS”. As a start up, I got to help establish the office, as I was a cost accountant. We had 14 poultry houses, 500 ft long, and housed 1.2 MILLION laying hens! processed 600,000 eggs per day!!
One fun fact I remember was that it took 3.2lbs of feed to produce a dozen eggs!!
Our poultry house roosts were built in a pyramid shape, so all litter fell to a trench (which we would auger out to a dump truck!) We gave it away to local farmers, as we could show how the litter increased their yield per acre by mixing this litter with their normal fertilizers! (Good community relations! Due to the fact-there was a smell!!
The eggs were laid, and rolled to a belt that brought them to a huge belt at end of each house. That main belt brought eggs to the processing plant, where they went through the candler, then the egg wash. Then our Dutch made machines picked them up (point down!), it weighed each egg, and placed it in the corresponding row for another gadget to pick them up and place in a carton!! The machine closed the carton lid, then rolled down to a human that placed it in a case!! Such a fabulous operation!!
This video of Joe’s farm was such fun to watch!! Especially since it’d been since the 80’s that I was at ISE FARMS! Thank you!! Ya got a new subscriber!!
Wow, what an experience! We love it when folks find our channel and really enjoy our content. We're happy to have you here!
@@HeiferUSA Thanks!! I’m getting another education!!
I am glad to see some happier chickens…
Thank you!
Im a city slicker and know nothing about farming but I find these farming videos very interesting, I watch videos from a you tuber and his channel is SasDutch Kid who is a dairy farmer in Saskatchewan Canada, I never realized how much work went into getting a glass of milk thank the farmers for all they do
Glad you enjoy them!
That was a fun tour. Can't believe I watched the whole thing. Gave me an excuse to grab a coffee before I get back to farm chores here! It counts as a business break? Right? 😉 I felt guilty and watched on 1x! 😂
This definitely counts as work! 😂
On a positive note, this is a great learning video that will help us all survive a future famine if it happens.
Thank you!
I just think about the big birds all day long and am crazy about how they are doing great looking birds and hope the best for your farm.
Thank you!
Talk about freely sharing information..... this guy is it. Brilliant!
We strive to share as much information as possible with our viewers. When we learn together, we can make a huge positive impact on our earth!
Thank you! We want to share all our successes and our failures! I learned how to farm by others sharing what they know and it would not be fair if I didn't also share with others!
I have 6 laying hens and love it. Don't know a whole lot but learning a lot with videos
That's great! Thank you!
I'm in New Mexico and have considered doing poultry farming. I'm enjoying your content, thx a bunch for the real world.

Im in South Georgia . I am considering chickens and goats. This is a great video . Thank you very much
We're happy to help! Best of luck.
This is really cool. What a wholesome and fulfilling lifestyle.
Thanks, David!
Thank you!
You can raise your turkey feeders by setting them up on leveled bricks/cinder blocks.
I think it's great our country is going back to the small farms. Right now because of inflation it's making it hard for small farmers with the cost of grains and hay for their animals. I hope the future will be good for them in the coming years. The people should buy locally and support these farmers. It hard and long work.
Thank you and people should definitely be buying local if they can!
One of the better videos. I love how heifer USA is so good at this
Thank you for your support! We love creating valuable educational content for our viewers. Let us know what you'd like to see next!
They do a great job! Thank you for watching!
Pink eye will cause blindness, but feeding kelp prevents pink eye & heals it. It will also prevent bloat, helps the animals regulate body temps in heat & old. Plus it makes the meat tender.
Great tip!
I'm learning a lot from all of your videos. I Think that you have one of the best channels that I have seen in a long time. Keep up the great work
They do a great job! Thank you for watching!
Super video Joe! Glad you're a fan of Mr. Joel Salatin, ~Salad Bar Beef~ !!! So happy to see a young tike doing something he loves!!! I've always wanted to raise chickens both for meat and eggs, but time has zoomed by, turning 70 in 6 months!!!
Sure wish I would have gotten into it way back, when I had my first 4 chickens, and I was a ~spring chicken~ myself! Lol!
I know how you feel at 26 y. o., you can hang the moon if someone asked you to!!!! Truly made my heart jump watching
this very worthwhile video!!! God bless you, family, and animal friends!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Sonny.
Thank you so much for the kind words! We really enjoy Joel!
Thanks for your support and encouragement, Sonny! We're glad you enjoyed the video. 💙
I admire you. Thank you for producing healthy food for the USA.👍🏻Regina

Greetings from Indonesia
Thank you for watching, all the way from Indonesia! We hope you learned a lot from Joe and his awesome farm!
Thank you
Joe a lot of commercial chicken farms here in Texas have sold out an the farm houses are just waiting away an they are selling the contents for scrap prices. Automatic watered automatic feeders everything is being sold off for scrap prices. Location is near Pittsburg Tx.
The local PECO plant here at Pocahontas Ar. has apparently shut down? We havent seen a feed truck or cackle crate go past in 7 days. Usually about 6 trucks per hour. And some on those million dollar grower houses are barely a year old.
I need to go there. I’m in West Texas
Great show. Hopefully you keep this up for next summer.
We're receiving lots of positive feedback about our live farm tours, so far! Liking, sharing, and subscribing are great ways to ensure we can continue to bring this awesome farming content to CZcams, free of charge!

what a great livestream! thanks for all the interesting info and entertainment
Thank YOU for your thoughtful questions and abundant support! We appreciate viewers like you!
what i like seeing is the cleanliness of thei chicken area also the common sense farming ive seen from some of the farmers in the 80's they were doing over 100k chickens but the farm it self was so run down and alot of problems with the chickens i moved some mobile homes for his chicken farm over the years at one time he had his house and ten mobile homes for his workers cause he also did citrus trees which i understand the need for mass production of chickens for food but i like you i have to keep my work area clean as well

@HeiferUSA Hello Joe. Thanks for bringing your awesome videos to me. I am very close by and I would love to purchase a chicken from your farm. My husband grew up on a farm in MI, but now he is 70 and he doesn't want me raising chickens 😒. He wants to buy a farm fresh one to eat!! I wish he would allow me to have a dozen to raise just for the eggs. Thank you for reaching out to all who are truly excited to see your work.

Muito interessante a sua criação de frango.
Bem diferente da minha, fiquei impressionado.
Parabéns a todos vocês
muito explicado.

Nice to see a farm in real life in the growing position, with the daily struggle, not like the other's where you see only the shiny side, yes it is one of the must to do is the feeding system to be moreless Automatic or big Containers on site to minimize daily hard work
We love farmers who are transparent in their journey. The best way to learn is together, and we're thankful that Joe was willing to share the high and low points of his farming experience. Thanks for watching!
What a beautiful Farm, going to be expanding next year From 5,000 to 30,000 layers. Sending love from RSA 🇿🇦
Best of luck!

New to your channel I been watching for the past 4 months and wow, Joe’s farm excellent I’m now starting out as a new farmer In North East Pennsylvania. I do flee market sales but now I’m looking to expand into selling organic chickens.
Welcome to the channel! We're glad to have you here.
Joe's Farm is such an awesome example! There's so much to learn about pastured poultry, and we've produced quite a few educational resources to help beginning farmers like you! Check out our Pastured Poultry playlist here: czcams.com/play/PLMPMX18ik9io2eblRTm6RtKRMGJTJw1F6.html

For gut issues, try putting apple cider vinegar with mother mixed into their water.
My husband and I are buying property this year (2023 - Happy New Year!) with the intent on starting a farm. If you still have them, we may be interested in your unused brooder boxes Joe! Moving out of G.R. to the U.P.
Hi am from South Africa, i would like to relocate in America to assist you with chicken farming, looking forward for invition from you guy's.
We are just starting out and have 22 birds. We are in a small town with no way to get eggs to market. I really want to do eggs and pastured poultry. Another challenge we have is no water on the property to be able to grow the grass, we rely on rain which we almost never get.
Congratulations on starting your farm! The challenges you're facing are quite common for beginning farmers. If you're able to connect with other farmers nearby, we suggest asking them how they managed to access water and find markets for their products. The best way to get better at farming is to learn from other farmers!
I enjoyed all of this video!
