Jump quicker is definitely the right mindset! It's not about going as deep as possible to explode up, you'll end up getting fatigued for no reason. Jumping quicker will definitely get you the vert you want for the right amount of stamina spent
I struggled with this for a long time.. I thought squatting more meant more power, but it’s not the case. Jumping faster definitely got me dunking a lot quicker
The most helpful tip someone gave me was jump as high as you can on a finger role, if your hands above the rim just turn it around and you’re dunking. I know it sounds dumb, but over thinking the staying low + not slowing down, and exploding really isn’t necessary.
this is helpful, i’m 5’10 hanging on rim with both hands and i can get more than half of my hand above the rim on a good day, small hands have me handicapped though 😭
