Tonguere, a prayer and icaros by the Yawanawa tribe in Brazil, meaning "hummingbird" in the language of the Yawanawa.
With so much gratitude for the sacred knowledge of the tribe and their music and medicine, we are humbly sharing our version of this miraculous song.
Thank you for honouring the indigenous tribes, mother earth and the medicine of this sacred music!
Here, I am playing it with my amazing friend and singer Kara to whom this chant is very sacred, too. Thank you for your angel voice!
    Lyrics & chords:
    (Capo 1)
    Em
    Êwairase tonguere (2x)
    Em
    Êwairase tonguere, tongueriwa tonguere (2x)
    C Em
    Eranama eroya, eroroya tonguere (2x)
    Em C Em
    Êwairase tonguere (ririri) (2x)
    Em C Em
Tongueri ri ri ri ri ri ri ri ri ri Tongueri ri ri ri ri ri ri ri ri ri (2x)
    Meaning/translation:
"Tonguere" means "hummingbird"/"kolibri", and "êwairase" means "spread your wings".
I haven't found any translation for "eranama eroya eroroya" yet.
Supposedly it is a song about two kolibris playing in the bushes/trees.
This song is often times played on ayahuasca ceremonies but also on other ceremonies and rituals by the indigenous tribes. Pure medicine music!

Beautiful. You didn’t find translation for “eranama eroya…” because this part added with guitar something around 10y ago. In original saiti there only:
    Ëwai ratsé tonguere
    And
    Eroroya tonguere
