- Muskrat and raccoon trapping using conibears and dog proof traps. This is a two day trapline, trapping small ponds and creeks. I've been waiting to trap this year, as the weather has been warm and the fur is just now at its prime for being harvested. Had a great time getting out and catching critters!

The golden/orange color you see in the creek is likely Iron. High Iron content in the water.

Illinois Trapper: I am new to your channel as I have some raccoons on some private lands and am considering the need to "dispatch" a few as well, via your technique. A deer hunting friend advised me that raccoon fur and meat used to go for quite the price but when trapping for furs ran out of fashionable style, the prices for both collapsed ... The problem then ensues that the raccoon population began to escalate and when that happens, it can lead to disease among more prized animals, such as deer. I have put corn out to simply feed the deer in Fall/Winter, ant the raccoons reduced their access to that food as well as tore up my feeder. I don't plan to validate my friends information as he is a very seasoned deer hunter, but perhaps this might help your critical viewers to have a more informed view, should you care to further research/verify and broadcast... Thank you for your posts..

I just started trapping ponds and have found several bank dens but i just cant catch them in ponds, ive been trapping creeks for years but just recently started with ponds. Anyone know why this is? Do the rats abandon holes in the winter?
Rats will jump ponds about as fast as they move in. Conibears in the hole and in the runs coming out are the best way to catch them. Look for fresh sign, if you don’t see any fresh poop or muddy water in the runs or holes then chances are they have already moved on.

Linfeng Wang, listen bro, I get you don't like the killing of animals but animals like raccoons become a nussiance when there are too many of them and trapping them is important to thin their numbers and also if you don't like hunting and trapping. Then don't watch those type of videos.
