    I was at this show. It was two shows actually. There was one at 8 and then they cleared the VAC and played another set at 11. I hid in a janitor closet between shows and got to see both sets.

    Same(ish) set as they played at Brixton around the same era. I had bootleg tape of that show which was rarely off my car deck, until my daughter taped over it.....aarrggg! Sacrilege! I have started talking to her again since

    It was my first (of over 100) SLF gigs. I went backstage between the 2 shows. After the 2nd show, when the lights came on, the installed seats were heavily damaged, and the owner of the venue was distraught. He didn't realize it was a 'punk' show....

  • @cjshardcorepunkmusicvault8474

    I have loved SLF since I was 15. But I can never figure out why they slowed down the songs as they moved forward. Listen to any of the songs here and from 1979-1981. So much faster and energetic. I get that now they are older they would slow them down but this was only 1988????????

    • @trevorlambert4226
      @trevorlambert4226 Před 2 lety +3

      Weirdly, this slowed down period was kind of short lived, starting with their reformation in 1987, lasting until... not sure when, but look at live videos in the last few years and they are playing as fast, if not faster than ever. Example: czcams.com/video/J5gsbZwhAf8/video.html

    • @myobpodcast
      @myobpodcast Před 2 lety +5

      The slowed down period seemed to coincide with when Dolphin Taylor was on drums. Maybe he just couldn't keep up. They're back playing fast now.

    Jake told me Henry had/has a collection of vintage guitars… pretty sure Henry played a Strat that night…seeing Jake in the 90’s with a dayglow PRS was tough to watch…
