- This is Rikako Asakura's theme from Touhou 3: Phantasmagoria of Dim. (Dimensional) Dream
Easiest theme to extend ever. It only has one loop space, and, being the longest theme in Touhou history, I only needed to loop it once!

Girom Christian Calica Or Stanford and Rikako worked on the journals until Reimu kicked her butt and she was never seen again so Stanford worked on the journals on his own.

Or maybe Rikako decided to start the journals herself only to plummet down into the Earth after her rocket-firing jetpack ran out of batteries (or petrol or ionizing particles of uranium-238 or whatever the fuck runs aforesaid jetpack) whilst doing so, smashing on a tree and her journals landing onto Stanford's head, where he discovers the journals and begins -steali- CONTINUING her legacy.
I don't know how she ended up in Oregon, though.

+Mabel Gleeful Yet a lot of characters are worth the remake imo. Kotohime, Kana, Ellen, Chiyuri, and pretty much everyone should be developped through a remake with more dialogues or another story in which they reappear.

I know my opinion may be unpopular, but I sort of want Mai and Yuki from Touhou 5 Mystic Square to come back! I loved their themes (stage and boss themes) and their character design. Yuki looked like the cuter version of Marisa.

Rikako remains virtually almost the same as her original version. (She took part in creating the Underground Nuclear Reactor.)
Out of all characters in the old touhou era, i mostly want rikako to make a reappearance in the new era. Because being a scientist in gensokyo, let alone a good one is rare.
***** but unfortunately we never see her again and supposedly she would be dead, or else why is the technology in Gensokyo not advancing? Reimu used to ride on a flying contraption, but no uses magic to fly around. What happened to all the technology in Gensokyo? Why is there not much technology in Gensokyo. Why is the technology not advancing? How did magic end up rising over science?

Kelyx614 Actually, technology is advancing quite rapidly in the current canon. Kanako is trying to start an industrial revolution. She brought outside world stuff with her, and she's giving it to the kappa to produce when they aren't making their own stuff, like cloaking devices and water weapons. There is a tram up the mountain that the tengu use, there is that fusion reactor underground, and remember UNL?
Also, as a side note, Reimu rode on Genji, the turtle. I can't think of any flying contraptions she used.

Both of those soundfont parts predicted Touhou 4,Touhou 6 and Touhou 7.

Well you cannot hear them, I based only in their connection (like the upbeat, or calm moment, etc) Those themes use the previous's because they are some well popular rhythms in Touhou.
Just to sharing some similarities, if it not to you, it's to mine. Well, I can't think any song of those part, other thing, I can put it anywhere.

This also is Yumemi's unused track , Until ZUN created Kana and Rikako , then put some unused track to them , so Vanishing Dream also is Yumemi's unused track

Honestly, her intellect surpasses Patchy and Nitori when it comes to engineering and science. SHe should be the one running the Nuclear Power Plant behind the scenes (although Okuu might not like it :P). Besides, Touhou needs more scientists like the ones from the PC-98 days. Poor Nitori is all alone in her love for science

I often wonder if scientists are technically types of magicians in Gensokyo, considering one of the only separations between the two is that one is real and the other is fake in some realms.

ah Rikako, the only Meganekko till Mamizou came along. i like to think of Patchouli as a magician version of her due to their long purple hair. A Patchouli vs Rikako Magic vs Science Fangame would be epic.

There's also the fact that Zun has stated that the windows games and the PC-98 games have almost nothing to do with each other, so it's possible Rikako doesn't even exist in Windows canon.
And probably Reimu, Marisa, Yuuka, Alice aren't even the ones in PC98 era...
Kou Shoutoku n0 zun said there are also some "connections" between them.. Like Reimu talking bout that incident caused by yuuka from LLS when they met in POPV. Alice who admits shes an "old friend" to marisa.. And reimu i think... Etc etc etc

I can just bump my head right and left, up and down while fighting people! Whenever I go up against this character… it just completely distracts me! You have no idea how this… just this… made me wanna love Rikako more! It would have very cool if they added some kind of choir or nopise in the baclground to make you float, buy I can stick with that still...!!

Damn. You know what? This is probably my favorite of the Touhou themes after having listened again and again. It stands out so much from the typical Zun style composition. All futuristic and cyber influenced. It has something of a deviation from the usual 'Enka' style of Japanese synth in 90's games. Plus the fact that in a world where even people without wings can fly but Rikako just uses a jetpack is cool and underrated. If they need to bring back a second PC-98 era character after Mima, they should bring back Rikako and then Kotohime.
Nope, Rikako's is longer, at just over 5 with no loops. Eiki's theme is 4 minutes without a loop.

ZUN really liked this song. However, he did not think that it fit the character. He didn't think Lost Dream fit Kana or Dim.Dream fit Marisa either, though...

As for Dim. Dream... Well it's kinda strange. It would fit anyone and no one at the same time imo.

There aren't a lot of people in this world that believe in science. Magic rules supreme. Rikako is one of those rare believers in science in this world. She herself believes that there must be some power beyond magic.
However, she is also a magic user, and a fairly powerful one at that.
Setting aside science for a moment, when she gets serious with her magic power, nothing can stop her, but she doesn't really like magic so this doesn't happen often.
She believes that these ruins were created by science, but ...
ZUN's comment about the track:

+Wobuffet3 They were re-arranged, with different voices and, in some songs, different tonic. The most noticeable case is on HRtP songs, but the others are also different.
Said Cura the hrtp songs were already in ms, and the soew songs just have extra instruments
