- Eastern Peripheral Expressway or National Expressway II (also "EPE") is a 135 km (84 mi) long, six-lane expressway passing through the states of Haryana and Uttar Pradesh.
The expressway starts from Kundli, Sonipat, passing through Baghpat, Ghaziabad and Noida districts in UP and Faridabad district in Haryana before finally joining the Western Peripheral Expressway near Palwal.
The expressway has been constructed at a cost of ₹11,000 crore (US$1.6 billion) to relieve traffic congestion in the Faridabad - Ghaziabad stretch and also to prevent pollution causing commercial vehicles from entering Delhi.
Government of India approved funding for the expressway in August 2015 on build-operate-transfer mode under NHDP Phase VI.
Eastern Peripheral Expressway is expected to divert more than 50,000 trucks away from Delhi and reduce air pollution in Delhi by 27%. The expressway was inaugurated on 27 May 2018 by the Prime Minister of India.

Its not about speed limit. Its about safe driving. The way u were changing lanes is called not safe driving. You were travelling like a snake. Its commonsense that speed limit automatically comes down according to the rest of the traffic. You dont cut some many lanes.

As a westerner (UK), what strikes me about modern Indian Expressways is they are pretty high quality structures with modern, high cost buildings but with some pretty appalling safety standards regarding use. Piles of construction material spilling onto live lanes, roadworks suddenly appearing with little or no warning and very little protection for the workers, vehicles parked in active lanes, unroadworthy vehicles going very slowly on a high speed expressway, traffic being diverted onto the opposite carriageway through roadworks with no separation from oncoming vehicles. Sometimes you even see people walking along expressways inches from high speed vehicles. I think Indian road safety awareness needs to catch up with its ambitious road building programme.
We can see how much India has developed in terms of infrastructure. The expressway has expanded to 6-lanes and speed limits has increased to 120 km/h.
You are such a good driver for using the first lane just to overtake, I guess many Indians don't even know about that rule.👍

I used the road this weekend with my family. It appears that the road requires some finishing touches. Especially at joints on the road. High speed of the car leads to bumps, that’s felt on the rear seat.
Also through the exit towards Chainssa village to the road which leads to Faridabad, needs improvement. But it’s something that was needed for a long time now.

People driving on the wrong side of a fast moving road gave me a few mini heart attacks. Being highly dangerous, wrong side driving should be stopped.

The "diversion " at 7:56: These type of diversion where birectional traffic share same side of the road is not uncommon internationally (I have observed it personally in Canada and US)... BUT the fact that there are no physical barriers or markings to separate the bidirectional traffic is criminal negligence and unprofessional. Wonder how people were still driving on the road. It would have scared the heavens out of me! Total lack of the concept of road safety!

Roads are fine. But try to plant trees on both sides without their branches towards roads.. This helps a lot for commuters during summer..
