If the hsr team and genshin team switched teams for the games HOLY would genshin be fantastic, not only would the story feel better but it would feel as if the developers were an active part of the game. In hsr you find funny callbacks, references to media inside and outside of mihoyo, funny interactions, and generous rewards with a team that listents to the community. The story in genshin is good when its consumed outside of the game itself since the game is riddled with useless and boring dialogue, dont get me wrong hsr may have overloaded dialgoue but at least it feels more appropriate to the story. Genshin specially in its early story quests were ass and was carried by the fact that it was "cool". HSR's team has good music, good story, good humour, and good conduct as developers.

Lack of communication, lack of content, lack of rewards, lack of respect from a customer perspective for me, the main reasons why this is happening.
HEAVY on the lack of communication. remember when the devs used to interact a lot with the playerbase back in 2020-early 2021? I dont play hoyo games anymore but i've seen how hoyo purposely repeats "mistakes". I thought they would have learned from the anni rewards drama, but ig not. Players need to realise that genshin is literally the cashcow of hyv games and denying it is the reason why hyv gets away with all of this MULTIPLE times.

There's a good reason why people compare Star Rail to Genshin, it's because of the many mechanics and UI similarities far more than Honkai 3rd and so here's a list of things/mechanics that Star Rail has that Genshin still doesn't have (and vice versa)
Here's Star Rail (the ones I can remember)
-240 Resin with a reserve resin system that stores upto 2400 resin after the normal one is filled with each resin being refilled every 18 mins for the reserve
-weekly bosses can be done a total of 3 times instead of being able to claim it's rewards only once
-every boss in the game (including weekly bosses) cost 30 resin
-resin refills in 6 mins (Genshin takes 8 mins)
-daily commissions get completed if you just burn your resin
-bp is 70 levels (after 50 lvl you get 10k mora per level)
-auto battle
-with a recent change, you can now do floor 11 equivalent and floor 9 and 10 get completed automatically
-floor 13 equivalent added in Star Rail
-New type of endgame added other than abyss
-10 free pulls every patch
-you can do the big events of the patch completely (like Lantern Rite or the current Film shooting event involving Cheveruse equivalent) starting from day one rather than them being time gated
-Self modeling resin, an item that allows you to craft any artifact with your desired main stat
-strongbox has every artifact in the game as soon as they are added, you don't have to wait until major world updates for new sets to be added
-shop has 5 star standard weapons to buy
-you are given different dialogue options rather than same dialogue option in different voice (active/passive) when choosing a dialogue
-every event has more primos, 2.5k primos from the main event (Genshin gives 980-1040) and 640 from side events (Genshin gives 420)
-A history system during story that allows you to see all the dialogues of the current talking (imagine you are talking with an npc and you accidentally skipped their sentence, there's a button in the corner that shows you the history of all the dialogues that just occured)
-Star Rail gives you a beginner banner that gives you a guaranteed five star after 50 pulls (discounted, every 10 pull costs only 8 fates so technically you are spending only 40 fates)
-5 star selector on standard banner once you reach 300 pulls
-You can play past events and gain some of the rewards as well (about 640-800 primos worth)
-your choices matter, you can quite literally skip a characters story quest if you distrust them (specifically speaking, it was KAFKA'S) and still gain the rewards
-Simulated Universe which resets every week that gives 225 primos and a STANDARD BANNER TICKET, 300k mora and a special ticket that if collected over time, you can buy some f2p 5 star weapon which are pretty goddarn useful
-story quests give 110-120 primos instead of 65-70
For Genshin
-you can afford to put an off piece artifact and still complete the 4p set you want on the character
-bigger world to explore (negative or positive depending on how you see it)
-live combat rather than turn based (depends on taste of the person playing)
...I can't think of anything else
Edit - making some changes cuz Star Rail has...even more stuff💀
The new changed/stuff added is as followed
-the reserve resin being 2400 not 1800
-character ascension is FAR easier as to ascend a character you need to only do bosses and have some enemy mats which you can gain from expeditions unlike Genshin where you also need local materials, gemstones
-talent domains are available at all days rather than being available at only some days
-you can interact with characters out of story at specific locations at any time
-in 2.0, they are adding a timeline system that shows you shen each trailblaze quest took place
-there is only one featured weapon in the weapon banner meaning if you lose 50/50 once then next time you get a five star, it's guaranteed to be the one you want rather than having two weapons and epitomised path like Genshin
Also for the people who say that Star Rail gives out free 10 pulls every patch is because they don't have as much exploration, I decided calculate how much both the games give as well in their respective new patches, here's the results
(including commissions but not including Welkin or achievements)
It's a total of 14k worth of primos which is 88 pulls
Meanwhile in Genshin you get 11.5k which is 72 pulls
Note - this includes the potential new area giving atleast a 18-20 pull worth of primos in Genshin meanwhile in Star Rail, you get about 3.5-4 pulls per new area in a patch but it doesn't matter given Star Rail gives a lot more from other places
Additional note - there's a possibility that Genshin's is wrong but I doubt it's by a huge margin
Additional note 2 - This isn't for completely new world patches like Penacony (Star Rail) or Fontaine (Genshin) but for the 1.x or 4.x patches for both the games respectively

I definitely agree that Genshin can do more to show their appreciation to their players than just 3 pulls. However, I believe (if I remember correctly) we also got 20 pulls in 4.0 so, I'm not sure that specific comparison is fair.

The fact that they can’t do better for their demonstration of gratitude for continued dedication from the fan base when compared to the 20 (I don’t really remember if it was 20 in 4.0 either) for a new version altogether for the game. A new version of the game is huge but another year of the game being successful is much higher up there and deserves to be treated as such.
The point is Genshin players deserve more for any gesture of gratitude they want to extend because 3 wishes when they could do so much more is like getting a 50 cent raise after 2 years with minimal breaks. In short, it’s a slap in the face. Whether it’s Genshin 4.0 or HSR 2.0 it all applies.

It really isn't about the rewards anymore (it still is but not the whole point), just the treatment we've been getting so far and the QoL we've been asking for since the start but they don't listen to their players. THANK YOU. I feel like a lot of people are getting upset over the fact that there aren't a lot of free rewards. I don't really care about the rewards, and I personally think that getting free stuff is good, no matter how little it is. However, Genshin annoys me a lot because hoyo doesn't listen to their fanbase. There are so many things that could make the game better, but they just don't listen. I don't think they realize that it won't hurt them to look at the recommendations of their fans. I still love the game so much because it is overall really fun and has helped me through a lot. I also think that the people who 1 star the game and stop playing over this is sort of overkill, but if they want to do that, that's their choice. I am in no position to tell people what they can and can't do. I just wish hoyo would listen.

The artifact rng is insane + the resin cap is a BIG issue.
The daily rewards are so low, it takes 3 whole days to get 1 pull and one character takes an avg of 105 pulls (including 50 50 losing chances)
Entire patches give 5000-7000 primos and have 4 character banners. For an f2p even getting a single character so hard enough, its unreal.
With this vast gacha system I don't understand how Hoyo chooses to give rewards like '420 primos' or '600 primos' in events and maintenance, both combined don't even give 10 pulls and now there's this. This is well deserved, infact , they're probably havin it ez.
bro i play honkai star rail and you can literally have THREE THOUSAND resin, but those are like cached resin which you can convert into real resin (im just simplifying the terms for genshin players since i used to play it too). I'm F2P in Honkai: Star Rail and it isn't hard. Just takes a few weeks to get 12k+ primogems but in Genshin I really needed the BoTWM pack thing
I for one, have uninstalled the game because I felt like I as a player wasn't being respected. I'm not saying everyone should uninstall the game, if you are enjoying it then all the more power to you. Just don't let sunk cost fallacy force you to keep playing and spending on the game

I still love the game but decided to stop spending for now, with this my final straw has also been broken, I'm just waiting WuWa for now and there is a big chance I'll stop playing genshin and play WuWa instead. After playing since day 1 and never missing a single daily commission, the time is finally coming.

I must admit I’m getting rather annoyed about how players are being treated. Last year I had a fraudulent charge on my account from Genshin, contacted my bank and they gave me a refund and a new card. Turns out those fraudulent charges were used on my Genshin account, and last week Thursday I received a message saying they were deducting the primos and if they remained after a certain time, I’d loose my account. I contacted customer support, asking if there was something else they could do and they said there wasn’t, and that I’d have to buy more primos (£100 worth btw) to save my account. I gave up on that account now, which I had for over a year and spent money myself on it. I understand not having a refund policy, but they weren’t even willing to rid of it any other way.
to make this even worse, we found out today that not only have we just received a free limited 5 star banner character in H.S.R but we will also be getting 20, yes 20 free pulls in 2.0 for the release of penacony. genshin is my first gaming love but I'm finding it harder and harder to keep up the love. I'm enjoying hsr but it isn't genshin. I'm definitely looking forward to release of Wuthering Waves and if genshin doesn't step things up i think a lot of people will head over there

the only reason i compared hsr and genshin is because it feels like mihoyo took everything from the surveys they got from genshin and applied it to hsr while shrugging in the background as genshin basically remains and plays the same all while getting less and less rewards. i think with playing the game, they are very different and i enjoy them both, but when it comes to things we've asked for, for genshin IN genshin surveys, being implemented in hsr is definitely something we can compare.

I'm hoping that this will be the fuel needed for hoyoverse to actually listen to our voices, and actually ackowledge our feedback. Because I'm hoping that theyre not just going to dump an extra 10 pulls and call it a day - if they dont make change, I honestly dont think i can handle playing the game anymore. Dont get me wrong, I love the game and have been playing for a while. But when hoyo acts like this, it reminds me that they dont care about their players at all.
... and the whole Liben event in genshin this week was not to give us Natlan crumbs, but to tease that this event is coming to HSR world too (more generous than in genshin of course). Oh and CNY update in HSR gives more rewards than in GI, what a surprise. So mihoyo can be nice, genshin team just don't want to.

nah i feel bad for genshin players. never played genshin but back in early days of honkai we were treated quite the same but honkai became very generous later. turns out it was because of cai houyu later he left hi3 and came to genshin. he was replaced with David Jiang who handles both games. he handles them so well that players were very happy. i think genshin players also deserve this treatment.
This reminds me of another game i used to play, love nikki which had a very impactful cn community as well as the game is from a cn company. When things felt unfair, that community was very good at organizing themselves to go on strike and things like that to increase rewards and the like and i expect that it would work with genshin too

The guy who works on Genshin is Cai Haoyu, the same guy who used to work for HI3rd before it got better rewards. As soon as that guy got replaced and moved to Genshin, HI3rd started to actually give good stuff. Btw, the same dude who now works on HSR is also working on HI3rd, and we're getting a lot of rewards in these two games.
Finally every content creator should address their mistreatment of such a dedicated playerbase who literally made them a billion dollar company.

I know zy0x said there's no point in comparing the games but honestly, what if the teams switched for a couple patches? Like I seriously can't help but wonder does the hoyoverse company as a whole just favor honkai? Even if they did, surely they can do something for the game that generated so much popularity and profit for their company? The only thing I haven't seen people complain about in Genshin is the music which makes me happy as a musician but everything else, even as a Chinese person who doesn't live in China, it's just so disappointing. 3 years of playing, the rewards haven't even changed. No improvement, barely listening to the community, do they even value the game? During the live stream, it sounded like the devs genuinely loved the game and worked hard on 4.4 but like, who's deciding how to deal with the rewards system? Who's deciding the quality of life changes should happen? My favorite one was the recent one where you automatically teleport to the red key in domains but their artifact loadout system is kind of pointless. If Genshin's community got even a bit more attention and sympathy from devs, the game would be so much better. Like ain't no way HSR just gave out a free 5 star that's actually decent and during Genshin's 3rd anniversary (which is usually worse than Lantern Rite), they just sent like a 10-pull in the mail and another free 10 pull. Like huh?

Plus they r getting extra 10 pulls just by a login for 2.0 (genshin devs will fkin milk even those 10 pulls by extending it over a duration of 4 days). So no. They deserve all the shit for not respecting us as their playerbase.

The problem is not the reward but the way they present it, "3 fates for your loyalty", they treat their loyal fans who help them grow their fame like today as if they were beggars, they turn gift into an insult, that's what triggered cn community

U CAN DO WORLDBUILDING AND SET HP STURCTURE OF THE WORLD INSIDE UR GAMES GAMEPLAY AND STORY...........perfect example of the game that " inspired" genshin is botw (and totk too I guess)
It shows what happend to hyrule(zelda world) in all of the ruins and exploration of the game, snd throughout the story it told what all happend in the past
And the problem is that games should NEVER EVER have 80% of there world building inside RANDOM BOOKS cause that is LAZY world building
It's about so much more then the rewards, we've been asking for better endgame and quality of life updates for years, yet all those featured went to HSR and not genshin, them getting better rewards and the 5* is just an extra layer on top of that to me tbh

I haven't watched the 4.4 livestream so when I heard that 3 intertwined fate, my jaw dropped. I'm so disappointed and tbh I kinda expected this as well (considering all the previous rewards from anniversaries). It just begs the question of how worse will it get the next time 🤷♀️
I still love and want to play genshin even with the rewards not being the best but at this point, the rewards from these major events just makes me feel like it's just a passing small event and not even special.
I just wanted to really emphasise thank you for speaking up about this but also to the fans, hsr and genshin peeps shouldn’t be arguing against each other. As a whole we should be demanding better treatment from the company, together we’re a stronger consumer voice.
I’m definitely more in the camp of just wanting to play genshin, I’ve honestly never really cared about rewards. If we get cool stuff that’s awesome, but if we don’t then it doesn’t really matter.
I just wish I could play Genshin. Events have been terrible and after 3 years, Spiral Abyss is still the only combat mode in the entire game
@@finebook281 The enemies in Fontaine are tanky. They even added in specific "minibosses" around the map that are made to give you a challenge despite not being in the abyss.

they honestly added (a lot) more fuel to the fire by ADDRESSING their fans’ support, specifically thanking them for the past year with 3 fates. Chinese new year or lunar new year, whatever you call it, is extremely important to chinese people, i’d even say it would be considered much more important than the anniversary. In real life, many idols and stars will prepare months before the chinese new year for the events, etc. The fact that hoyoverse hasn’t shown the same appreciation of not just their fans but also of this event is really disappointing, especially when you realise they’ve been doing the same thing every year for lantern rite, a free liyue 4 star, login every day for 10 pulls, etc. However, no one said anything until now, i guess the string snapped after so long or maybe it was because of their announcement of 3 intertwined fates for the past year, whatever it is, im pretty glad that a lot of people are complaining because the lantern rite has been very lacklustre in everything BUT story quests and cutscenes. I might be biased because Im chinese, but i just think that lantern rite should be a much more bountiful event, even if i was biased because im chinese, it seems hoyoverse is not as biased as i am.

I recently played genshin for almost 3/4 months and i enjoyed it so far bcuz genshin give me the open world & rpg exp. I never expect mihoyo to give us good reward, the reason is i played different type of game before genshin and the company of the game is very greedy? They charge the player with expensive price for low quality skin of character and the way to get the "skin" is through gacha so is 2x more expensive. Not only that the system to level up character and other stuff based how many your spend money on the game. Yeah they still give us a reward but it's not that special or thoughtfull, just basic free gift.
This game and genshin both from CN and i just thought that's how CN game works so i never complain about it. But seeing many old players and others who care about this game didn't feel 'love' by how the mihoyo say thank you for playing and support their games for 3 YEARS. Make me support this movement.
