- We caught up with guitarist/vocalist Peter Hayes from Black Rebel Motorcycle Club before their direct headline support slot at GMF 2019 in Tampa.

I met Peter once after a BRMC show in Dallas. I think he could tell we were nervous and he came up to us and started talking to me and my drummer. I guess he could tell we were in a band and asked us about it. I will never forget how friendly and cool he was. What a genuinely good dude.
God bless Pete. I would talk with him about anything if I could once. He always was so much closed in himself, but his mind is a gem.
I was at this festival! THEY KILLED IT. And a couple girls danced with me in the audience. Brmc fans are the best.
Peter Hayes has one of the most exciting live sounds I've ever heard. "get extra guitarists?... fuck that I'll loop it and play it all.." Easy to bin BRMC off as "fuzzy garage 3 chord meh" - Every over dubbed guitar and bass is killer. Most underrated guitar player of this Genre. much love ;)
Probably my most favourite band from the 00'.

there's absolutely no stability with Brian Jonestown Massacre these days. Anton has fired some long time members as of late.
Good point; meant in their promotion and output. But correct sobriety fixes some things but not all and he's always been pretty prolific.
He's been doing this for years. Not just recently. What's really fascinating is ever person that was once in this band went on to create something great after leaving the band.
Met Peter twice in Orlando. He's a total drugged out space cadet! But damn can he wail on vocs and guitars! He's never not high!

Peter Hayes is the cooler one of the duo especially with the grey hair. He’s probably going solo now finally. He doesn’t need the other guy. It’s time to move on.

He has the better voice in my opinion and I definitely enjoy the songs he leads more. I think they are good together, but if I had to pick one? Hands down, it would be Peter Hayes! 😁
