Nothing like they were 50 years ago! Lava lamps should be unpredictable and snakey! Lava lamp fans will know that I mean! MATHMOS!

They are nothing like they were 50 years ago. Old lamps from LavaLite made several bubbles at once, changing between columns and blobs. When LavaLite moved production to China, they changed the formula so they now have a terrible flow that sends uniform blobs up and down one at a time. LavaLite: If you can't bring production back to the US, at least fix the formula.

Look how cloudy they look! This is what I don't get about Lava Lite... Their lamps are such bad quality yet they aren't as cheap as other models from China of the same standard. They are so boring to watch as well as it's the same sized blob each time. My Mathmos Astro Baby is so much better. It's not the slightest bit cloudy and the blobs constantly change formation and there are a lot more than one blob at a time!

Emily Samano I have never had this issue, with this brand. Check to see if your bulb is loose first. And, if not, file a complaint with the company itself.
