CHRISTOPHER LEE READS... THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA BY GASTON LEROUX
ISBN: 978-1-906263-27-0
CDs: Three
When the new managers of the Paris Opera House ignore their
predecessors' warnings about the hideous 'Opera ghost' stalking
the theatre, it is a fatal mistake. Tortured by unrequited love
for the beautiful young singer Christine Daae, the mysterious
figure living in the depths beneath them has been awaiting his
chance to strike. And when Christine suddenly disappears after
a triumphant singing performance, it becomes clear that the
phantom's time has come. Filled with colour and theatrical
spectacle, this thrilling gothic tale has enthralled readers
with its mystery, eerie suspense and tragic story of love turned
into deadly obsession.

This is absolutely the best version of a Phantom audiobook. Christopher Lee was so good
He had such a beautiful voice
Even abridged this works quite the treat. Glad to have both this and completeist versions.

Tout ce qu'il voulait en dernier, c'était le goût de l'amour... Et Christine le lui avait finalement accordé. Il est mort amoureux

I sleep to this my fave book ever Phantom love!🥰
I have my naps , siestas with audiobooks too😄
And I think this one is surely going to be a favourite!
Same here
Beautiful! Poignant! Masterful!
Wonderful reader.
With the type of voice he used for Raoul, I imagine Raoul being Eustice from Courage the Cowardly Dog.

I love the phantom of the opera from Broadway to a book
Do you mean you like Phantom in all mediums or that you think Phantom of the Opera was a musical before it was a book?
It was a novel long, long before the musical.

How is this version 3 hours when most audiobooks are 8-9 hours of the same book?
Someone else reading along said he’s skipping a lot of paragraphs
@@solalabell9674 Thank you, I was wondering the same thing, I will probably listen to the longer one also, since there are probably quite a few descriptive passages that are important to the building of the plot and the characters. But for now, I am enjoying Christopher Lee!
i would like to see a movie version of this book
Well, you have the film with Gerard Butler, and many others
@@jackdrew518 true but I want to see a phantom of the Opera movie that has all these parts in there
Think the bits of the book would be too strange for audiences . Now . Think the closest thing we got to that was the long Chaney film

Im following with the book on hand but he’s skipping a lot of paragraphs. Should I know something that I don’t?
Its an abridged version
It is almost impossible to listen to this. I'm 45 minutes in and I have had 10 advert breaks
Gee, Raoul. I wonder why the person you haven’t seen since you were like 7 doesn’t recognize you 🙄
A-Z
I don't know who the Laroux guy is but I feel like he really missed the point of Schumacher's movie, too many distracting ideas and a bit overloaded with pathos. It's not the strongest novelization.
I do hope you are being sarcastic.
@@MegaPianoplayer1 😂😂😂
Please tell me this is a joke
If you were being serious, the movies and broadway shows were based in this book.
@@anaceautistic9447 I was not being serious, I thought that Schumacher's film, which I saw first, was not very impressive, and that this book, which I found after, to be much better. I was making an outrageous statement, pretty much saying the opposite of what I really mean, to be funny.
