Everyone has a dark side. Dr Jekyll has discovered the ultimate
drug. A chemical that can turn him into something else. Suddenly,
he can unleash his deepest cruelties in the guise of the sinister
Hyde. Transforming himself at will, he roams the streets of fog-
bound London as his monstrous alter-ego. It seems he is master of
his fate. It seems he is in complete control. But soon he will
discover that his double life comes at a hideous price ...

I read this book a few years ago and found it challenging. I had to look up words and re-read paragraphs. Now I’m coming back to it again, after reading several classics this year, and it reads easy like a normal book 🙂 So if anyone thinks they can’t read classics, Keep trying and it will get easier

@@maraxussrafhael Hi, well for one, I really wanted to hear it narrated in Christopher Lee's voice haha (which is what I ended up doing then, and it was awesome), and the main reason I didn't just read it is pretty simple: at the time I wrote that comment 8 months ago, I was studying for my BA finals (not sure where you're from, but in my country, there's a huge oral exam to sum up those entire 3 years of study). For its main part, I had to learn about around 150-200 books, ideally read all of them, so I was trying to read as many as I could in a really short time-span. Imagine you spend all day studying (= reading from books or, more frequently, from the computer monitor), morning to night, every day, for weeks... your eyes and your brain get really tired. So that's when audiobooks came to the rescue, haha. Whenever I needed to take a break from the constant reading/studying, I would put on an audiobook, which allowed me to simultaneously relax and keep learning, in a way. So short audiobooks were a blessing. It was intense but I found this system to work pretty well for me. I just did not have the capacity to physically read everything.
Btw, in case you're interested to know, I ended up passing the exams :)

I 'run' a book club and I read this one in portuguese and in english and now I am listening to it, that is why I told you it is not THAT abridged, at least I could not notcie any change. Concerning the test, I am really glad that you passed, I wish you all the best, for you and your family. God Bless!

Unabridged is non-dramatized, a plainly read versjon of the original text. So i can only guess that this is a full reading, but dramatized, since most dramatized versions are shorter, with more drama and less text. The best answer would probably be found in a Wikipedia article...
