FIGUEIRA DA FOZ PORTUGAL WALKING TOUR OF THE BIGGEST URBAN BEACH IN EUROPE

- Hi everyone welcome to Travelzilla. Please join me as I give you a walking tour of the city of FIGUEIRA DA FOZ, a very cool and quiet beach town in Portugal. The city is located on the coastal region of Central Portugal, just over 40 KM or 24.8 Miles from the famous city of COIMBRA, at the MONDEGO RIVER MOUTH. The city is very old and of immense importance in the region. It has many buildings of historic interest such as the FIGUEIRA DA FOZ Bullfight Arena, one of Portugal's oldest casinos, churches, tiled buildings, the SANTA CATARINA FORTRESS and many nice beaches such as BUARCOS MOLHE-NORTE, CLARIDADE beach and many others.
I will also show you a little bit of Downtown Figueira da FOz, the city garden, the city market, the beautiful Sotto Mayor Palace, the Marina FIgueira da Foz and the waterfront. The city definitely has the widest urban beach in all of Europe and is famous for it!

Thank you very much. I wish I could make a more complete vlog about it, but I needed to go back for a bullfight and for the casino and both were closed when I went. I was there for 2 days, but it was pretty chilly on the first day. The sun only showed up on the second and last day there, so we didn´t have time to show more. We were there in the spring so the weather wasn´t that warm yet. Thanks for writing by the way. Have you seen the video on Saint John's day yet? That format is what I like doing the most. In the coming months those types of videos will be back on this channel.

hi there....lol...yes I do.Native English speakers aren´t used to reading subtitles so writing English subtitles is mostly a waste of time. The Portuguese language and English language audiences are very different in many ways. I wanted to make 2 separate channels to be honest, but I just don´t have the time for it. Too much work so I decided to make a bilingual channel. Not easy in any way shape or form.

Hi there thanks for the essage I really appreciate it. Figueira da Foz isn´t that hilly at least when compared to most Portuguese cities. In the city center at least only a few hills here and there. Kind of flat for the most part. In the suburbs you get more hills. :-)

Hi there! Next time cross the long bridge in Figueira to Praia Cabedelo! A big beautiful clean beach with more shallow water in the beginning which is a bit less cold because of that!

Hi there...you know...I wish I had done so much more. When I got there the weather was horrible, I thought it was going to rain....all of a sudden the sky started to clear up and I was flying my drone and filming all over the place lol. I only had one day. Early the next day I had to go back to Lisbon and then Seville. It was crazy. I need to get back there. Need to film the casino. I was looking for it and couldn´t find the original old building...and need to visit the bullfight arena. Not to mention other beaches. So do you think Cabedelo is better? Cabedelo is the name of a beach and Port in Brazil too. :-) I so need to go back to Figueira da Foz to make a proper vlog there.
@@TRAVELZILLA Oh your vlog was very nice! And yes the weather there haha.. in august and end of July it can get foggy and rainy in the mornings, but usually it gets warm in the afternoons... Warmest to my opninion is beginning to half of July. Sometimes beginning of August. But still.. You never know there. Cabedelo is only a few minutes by car and yes I think that beach is better. Cleaner, not straight away deep like the big beach and more beautiful. There are more beaches there, but for me Cabedelo is the nicest one.
You can see it around 26 and 36 min in my vlog, but not a lot... Here you see it better: www.thekitemag.com/news/cabadelo-beach-portugal/ And it is not a very busy beach, which is also great...
