I made this tutorial with an easy, lazy, simple workflow for quick results, therefore professional naming and deformer integrity are not a priority of mine and the models might not be suitable for game development usage.

Common Problems
1. Onion skin is on? You can turn it off at the bottom task bar, the icon with 3 layered circles.
2. Can’t create a deformer (error: please create an object with same parent deformer selected)
Make sure your selected elements are of the same hierarchy! You can’t select child layers and the parent deformer together. You can click the little ( v ) above the deformer window until it becomes ( ﹥ ) and it will collapse the deformers, so you can better tell what’s on the same hierarchy. 3. Limited deformer conversions, parameters, can’t shift ctrl c/v : you might be using live2d free version! Please consider getting the pro version trial, since this tutorial is not going to be completable without pro version!
Your teaching style is so great. You explain the key commands youre using and not just saying "copy" or whatever, and you explain what you WANT to do, WHAT to do to do that, HOW the program understands what you asked, and WHY youre doing
I like that you include multiple results (like "this might happen" "rarely, this will happen") and you explain how to handle that
i've rigged like 4 VTuber models without some of these tips and it has me reconsidering everything ive ever done IM SO HAPPY TO BE LEARNINGGGG THANK YOUUUU

hey hey! whenever I try to select the head it selects everything, and since I’m using a Mac keyboard commands don’t work. Do you have any advice on how to fix this?
Basically you have to use command + right click instead of ctrl + left click. On Mac, with basically all the shortcuts, command replaces control, hopefully this helps!

3:37 hey what ''control drag'' means? you rotated and moved the neck but can't do the same, i rotate but i dont know how to drag to tilt it
i'm holding ctrl because the head z spawned in by my model's boobs, but it won't move the deformer itself, just the whole upper part that the deformer is supposed to help with. Unsure if this is a matter with my own program or what? please send help 😭😭😭
I had this problem as well. My mistake was trying to hover my mouse till the middle line was green before ctrl clicking. You don't want to do that you actually don't need anything to highlight, just ctrl click it a bit below the center dot.
Hey hey!! This is super helpful so far, but while tilting the head, the inner mouth seems to not move with it... any idea on why that might be?

i want to ask about a problem i ran into when adding 3 keyforms for the head. When adding that, suddenly the back hair (long hair) are pushed to the front making the neck and the upper clothes not visible. Is there a way to fix that? Thank you!!
Check if you modified any draw orders? Or, your layers may disappear if you don’t have keypoints set at both parameter min/max
For some reason when I go to automatic mesh generator and select the standard preset it will randomly delete my bottom lashes, pupil, and eye shines.
This is a few days late and idk if you need help anymore but at 5:22 she mentions what she'll do when that happens! It should work for your situation
why when ever i try to move headz it always move the whole head not the circle alone how do i fix that?

I had the same problem because I'm on mac (not sure if you are too). Basically you have to use command + right click instead of ctrl + left click. I think It's just another mac quirk, hopefully this helps you!

nice video but i got a weird issue with the programm. for some reason the colour on my model looks way darker then it usually is. can i do something against that?
For me the colors get desaturated a bit when imported in live2d, I either adjust it prior in my drawing software, or I adjust the texture atlas png on the exported model at the end!

I can’t figure out how to do the control drag for head z. I know what the control button is but I’m confused on the drag. Can someone help me? Also I’m using a MacBook

when I move neck in Angle Z and try to reflect, it writes to me " the selected parameters are linked to the object" and nothing happens, I even started all over again, but the error is the same... what am I doing wrong?

Are you using the free version of live2d? It has a lot of limits, and this tutorial is not going to be completable without the pro version 🙏 I strongly suggest getting their pro version trial

u completely skipped putting the parts into the warp deformers. seems like u just skipped that part completely and went into the next step and suddenly they are there.
Selecting the neck and neck tattoo beforehand at 2:56 already puts them in the warp deformer created afterwards, hope that helps
