- In this video I show you the methods I use to swap out my tyres manually using basic equipment. It's very simple but requires a good serving of elbow grease.

A little bit of cupper-paste never hurts on the wheel nut threads,, 😎
Nice diy video Ash,, 👍🌟👍
I think I must have done every nut but that one 😆 probably in a rush last time before heading to Norway with CJ
It's common where I live to have two sets of wheels. One with summer tires, and one with studded winter tires. But cool to see this done manually.
That's normal here too, I just haven't gotten around to buying them yet 😊 only takes me 1 hours to change all 4, when I'm not filming haha
cant beat old style tyre fitting kit enjoyed this video brought back some good memories atb Daz
Glad you enjoyed it dude 👍
Interesting video Ash. Clever way of doing it. Especially without all the fancy tools. Take Care Buddy 👍
Handy to know if you ever get stuck 👌
Trolly jack on gravel and no hand brake on , good job in the end man
It's very stable to be fair, bites into the gravel and stays solid. I wouldn't go under it without stands though 😊
a little tip when taking the tyre off the rim, once your first bead is off lift the wheel up and put leaver under bead then the tyre should po off, instead of doing it the way you were doing ....... i was a tyre fitter many moons ago before the fancy machines come in ha ha ha atb daz
Good go know! Will give that a try next time 😊 I have problems with the block slipping down the sidewall and it just squashing the tyre rather than pulling the bead. System needs a but of refinement haha. Although, I just just buy another set of rims...
good vid thankes lee
Thanks Lee 😊👍
Great Video Ash. Didnt know it could be that easy without the Garage tools. I'm guessing your on the look out for another set of rims so you dont have to do this twice a year?!😄
When needs must, anything is possible! But yea, on the look out for rims because its a pain in the ass 😆
Hi Ash. Thank you for that. If a balance weight has be added how do you fix it to the rim? Keep producing the vid's, top tips are invaluable.👍
You're welcome! With the weights there are two types. For alloys they come in a roll and are self adhesive so just clean the rim and stick on. For steel wheels they clip onto the outside edge
Do you not use Copper Paste on the wheel nut threads when you screw them back on..., the paste stops the nuts from tightning up so tight like you had there on the first wheel you tackled !
I do yes but I must have missed that one on the last change 🤦♂️
Why are you not getting a set of rims for the winter tires?
Because they are an expense I don't want to pay right now 🤷♂️
@@ash.pollard they are not, but anyways good job.
2000sek for a used set delivered 👍
@@ash.pollard Yes not too bad, it's all about prioritizing, it's stupid to ruin your aluminum rims, you save a lot of time too. I'm sorry, I'm not going to complain, you're doing a great job.
Hi Ash, hope you're all well. Somehow I visualised Marie leaping up and down on that tyre and you shouting, 'Higher, higher!'. Don't know where that came from.
Here's Donn's bead breaker: czcams.com/video/mFDsJg2y8hI/video.html&ab_channel=DonnDIY
Thanks for sharing. Stay safe and keep up he good work.
PS. My old knees couldn't handle that kneeling on the tyre business. 😂😂👍✌
Hahaha! Yea If I was having to do this often I would definitely build a bead breaker
If I were you, Ash, I'd become a little more of an expert with something before I made a video showing people 'How To Do It' Really mate, getting a set of second hand steels from the scrap yard is such a doddle, even here in Sweden. Get yourself up to Biltema and spend 600kr on a home tyre changer.
"How i" is very different to "how to". A set of used steel wheels is 2000+ sek for my van delivered. Why would I buy a bead breaker when I can do it for free? It costs me 1 hour of my life every 6 months...
...and then you need to go and get the wheels balanced, anyway.....
