GW2 Herald PVP Tournament Match

Really enjoying Herald! Probably not stronger than Vindicator but more fun for me. With some fine tuning of both the build and my personal skill I'm starting to get comfortable again on it. Hammer 4 getting buffed sorta makes up for the fat nerf to the hammer damage coefficient a couple years ago, but this is some nutty gameplay my dude 🤜🤛

The ranged attacks on hammer seem quite valuable. Greatsword seems standard on most builds for Revenant, coupled with Staff, Dual Swords, Hammer, or even Shortbow.
I suppose Greatsword is taken for its defensive cooldown, AoE burst, and engage/mobility skill. Then the remaining weapon(s) are really up to playstyle?

Power rev is in an awesome spot where pretty much every weapon is viable in PVP!
I recommend picking either dual swords or greatsword as your main weapon - dual swords does better at roaming around picking people off and greatsword does better in teamfights and skirmishes due to the block, movement, and cleave.
For your other set you can do staff, hammer, or shortbow. Staff being the safest, hammer having a nice mix of defence and damage, and shortbow being the most aggressive.
But you could honestly mix in shield offhand or even axe offhand (surprisingly not bad!). Whatever you find most fun :)

Sorry stupid question, just started playing the game, tried renegade but its not clicking for me and now trying to get into herald, do i need other expansion to use GS in herald? I only have PoF and HoT

I think SOTO allows you to use all the weapons with all the specs. I'm not 100% sure though so maybe double check on the wiki before buying

@@chrisberbo8939 dual swords definitely works well! Most of the gameplay in my new herald guide is dual swords. It's mostly personal preference of whether to take dual swords or greatsword.
I'd say overall greatsword is a little stronger in general but dual swords are better for getting around quickly and one shotting people

Do you play also support builds on revenant in pvp?
Because I have 1 with good damage with scepter/shield + hammer on vindi if you look to try.
And I have also a more superior one that's more tanky/more support, but still has damage because it's condi based.

I have tried support rev, but I haven't found anything that feel super viable yet, and I've also found that sometimes people get mad when you play support rev LOL.
That being said I'd love to try your build!

@@homage3 Well I have a strong one which I find better then any other revenant build for pvp atm 😅. Here have a try in a video 😉.
Alliance stance + Centaur stance:
•Retribution traitline: 1-2-1
•Salvatation traitline: 3-2-1
•Vindicator traitline: 2-2-3
• Sage amulet / rune of the druid /relic of the flock.
• mace/shield + shortbow
• Sigils of energy + Sigils of transference.
watch empowerment skills in centaur with elite skill for stability. You have aoe denial and can lock people in it with your 2 cc's too while supporting group same time.
Urn of saint viktor denotate it also enough because that's support doing well too.
If you try to move around map and give allies swiftness without trying to trigger projectile denial trait => activate while running Protective Solace on and off everytime tablet resets because out of range and so you keep empowerment when needed also. There is more but lets first how you do and I can add more on it later if you like

How did you place the personal target? I’ve never seen that but it would be crazy helpful

Hey its a fairly recent addition. You can go into your keybinds settings and you'll find the personal target in there. I have it bound to CTRL+SHIFT+T and stick it on my support or my duo

And how did you get a death breakdown?

When you die there's a little 'i' in a circle icon on the health bar. You can click it for the death breakdown

Here's the build my friend! I take a very safe combination of traits and sigils. You can spec a little higher into damage if you like but I've tested a bunch and I like the safe build.

​@@homage3 try use draconic echo instead if elevated compassion. Elevated compassion is mostly support with healing stats because of outgoing heal.
